Love The Mod! So Good I Want It To Have MORE Then 75 Cards! Only Issue I Spotted Was The Icon For The Character On The Select Screen Was A Lil' Small.

From what I remember, you made some very welcome adjustments to certain mechanics and visuals. Still one of the most well-rounded mods on the workshop.

Turn 1s are rough. Pretty much everything about the character requires some setup. Not saying she's underpowered, but act 2 is pretty tough when they start attacking for big damage on turn 1. Act 3 is easier as they don't really attack much turn 1.

I absolutely love this. very addicted. Btw Powered Anvil does not seem to be working with AutoHammer. While Powered Anvil is active i would expect AutoHammer to Enhance cards twice. Thank you for this!

Enhanced seems to be not working in my current run. I've been using Packmaster character and swapped starter relic for Runesmith's Skillbook. Cards with Enhanced+2 work as if they were not enhanced at all.

Idk what else could I report that'd be of help.

heya few minor text errors:

-the character is called "the Runesmith" with the "t" in "the" not capitalized
-Metallurgical Research+ says "... your cards after 2 turn ..." with a missing s after turn

@Ocean Hi, thanks for the report. I didn't know how I missed that in testing. I've uploaded a new patch that should fix it.

@AvangionQ I have attempted a fix for the crash in this patch. Should be no crashes now, I hope.

This mod is just great. I only wish it had card unlock mechanics, because it's such a fun class but I lack motive to play it.

Fun character with interesting mechanics.

Fairly easy to become OP with certain card sets. Creator Form (enhance 2(3) cards at the start each turn) plus several copies of the Anvil Power (each enhancement gets an additional application) can add into some serious levels of enhancement. Add the runic pyramid (where you retain your hand every turn) allows for keeping some serious blocking cards (at +10, it is something like 70), or passives with magma at +5 giving 24 damage / 12 block a turn.

Spilum (the be damaged on attack) in this situation is a final boss killer. Getting that to 12 damage per hit makes short work. If it comes up on the reshuffle, it can be easily played for 20 damage a hit.

I recommend making enhancement stacking scale logarithmic-ally instead of lineally. Maybe a start of log base 2 or 1.5.

Excellent mod. The character is strong without being overpowered, the art fits perfectly in with the game, and there are multiple viable paths. At first I thought she would be busted because free stuff every turn = good, but you really have to plan out your actions and it's very easy to get stuck with a cluttered deck if you're not mindful of your card pickups.

It's a small thing, but next time you update, I think you should change the top-left UI to say "the Runesmith", because that's how "the Ironclad", "the Silent", etc will display in-game.

This mod is magnificent. It's beautifully crafted. It feels like a beautiful re-imagining of the Defect. This character feels like it could fit perfectly in the game. There's already an undertone of some strange artifact based magic, and this character feels like a potential precursor. To say nothing of how legitimately smooth the play style flows in a way that's just supremely satisfying.

I love this mod so far. The character is fantastic, the HUD for the character is astonishing.

I did find a soft-lock as a heads up.
Using Elementary Particles with Velvet Choker will make the game stop if you play the card as your sixth card.

Great mod, definitely one of my favorites. Well balanced, different strong builds you can go for depending on what cards you get. Enhancing cards, gaining lots of potency, using elements not only on crafting but also very strong cards for damage/block etc. All while not at all making it over powered and easy.

Art and animation is nice and fits well in the game.

I love it, ignore the dude below me. Randomness is what makes this game bloom. Listen to the slim down some cards idea tho. I'd like to see more cards that give Potency as that is the main factor in making or breaking a run. MAKE ALL POTENCY CARDS EXAUST. Unless their cost is 2+

I want to like this one, truly I do. Unfortunately, it is trying to accomplish too much in the space that StS provides. There is value in simplicity and by slimming some cards down I could see this model becoming quite interesting. The 3 elements also introduce another tier of randomness that hinders its ability to perform in a game that already has significant randomness. Element gathering should probably be more closely tied to defense mechanics that allow a slow build vs other more aggressive builds. Make cards more focused, and settle on 2-4 paths for character development, and I could see this being something the developer could adopt.

The game softlocks if you have the velvet choker and play elemental particles as your 6th card as you cannot end your turn nor play one of the other cards

I've played through a couple of mod characters now, and this is the best one so far. The rune mechanic is fairly easy to understand with some tricks that take trial and error to learn. The art, mechanic, and lore of the character all fit well within the game. Gameplay is fun.

The Runesmith is more powerful than the base characters, but not so much so that it feels unfair to play, and with higher levels of ascension that edge goes away. IMO, mod characters should be more powerful than the base (unless they're intended for a challenge). I'm not saying that mods should be busted, but I expect a bit of a power spike from player based content. Making powerful combos that the developers had to restrict for balance reasons is part of the appeal for me.

All in all, this is a great mod. It feels like free DLC. If I showed this character, art, and gameplay to a friend and said that it was developer made, they wouldn't question me. That is the highest praise that I can offer.

I agree with FatRefrigerator. This mod is really good and has some of the most creative mechanics out there. If better balanced it has the potential to be equal to the base characters. But as is, Runesmith is too powerful.

There are a few synergies that are somewhat overpowered and a couple runes as well. Obretio is extremely overpowered if at 10 potency or higher, since just two of them will negate most enemy attacks completely, making some boss fights boring. I think perhaps making Craft Obretio an *Exhaust* could help with this.

Wow, this mod is super sweet! Love the aesthetics, the enhancement mechanic (and the way they make your cards look), the crafting system, and I've only played a single act!
So while I have no idea about the balance, have barely seen any cards, the love you put into this is undeniable. Awesome work.

Super fun and creative class! Combining Prism with the card that lets you keep half your block is a little too strong of a combination, bumping one of them to rare would probably be a good idea.
