@lumièreL: The premise of this co-op mission is exactly what you described. Every soldier's loss is quite problematic for you. That is the style of this particular co-op mission.

May I suggest the Blood Brothers or BB co-op campaign series if you are looking for base building.

Could you please make a version without manpower limited and reinforce my squad freely?Now I feel like I'm playing Man of War instead of COH,I have to consider the loss of each soldier, but the mechanics of the game is not detailed enough

@CA[14thLA]Rct.AngryScotsman: This map should be available in the multiplayer maps list under 4v4 maps, make sure 4v4 maps are selected, then search for it.

Please note I know my maps has issue for Mac users, so if you're using Mac then there's a possibility it doesn't show and there's unfortunately nothing I can do about that.

@acv55555: These scenarios are great. I will consider them. Although I think it would be better to use more of a creative believable scenario to explain certain unit appearances, etc.

Anyways, I understand what you want generally and will see if I can make something along these lines. Hopefully you enjoyed playing this mission and perhaps the other missions in the meantime.

For reaslistic scenarios:

The Falase Gap and Chambois. The British and Americans have linked at Chambois and now have to wither the entire German army trying to escape. The mission is won when you push them aside and retake the town of Argentan, ending their hopes and resistance.

Tobruk. Rommel and the Italians are throwing everything at the desert city, the British need to mount a defense. The mission is won when you push past them and take out their forward operating base.

You could also do alternate history as well. Perhaps Operation Unthinkable, where the allies are trying to retake Berlin from the Soviets, who rely on their usual brute wave tactics. The goal would be to take out their Berlin stronghold. Alternatively the Soviets have a much harder time reaching Berlin, requiring the Allies to make the difference at the Siegfried line. Hitler sends as many as he can against the combined American and British forces, who have to punch their way past the wall.

I kind of am a bit tired of the usual heavy urban setting, it was the forested rural area of this map that really stood out to me.

How about a scenario where the allies decide that taking Caen was the highest priorty so even the Americans join in? That gives a reason for the Germans to keep rushing counter attacks through the city.

@acv55555: Good to know you're a compstomper, would explain your idea! The idea is interesting, not sure how much appetite there is for such a scenario or mission but it's certainly possible to make. In order to make this work I may have to delve into slight fiction of WW2 to fit for contextual purposes to create such a scenario.

If I were to make an endless waves scenario, certainly many aspects would be pretty repetitive. I don't know if you can sense it but these Co-op Mission maps I made have been through countless tests prior to even getting a public release, so the gameplay is balanced and the victory is difficult albeit achievable. For an endless waves map it would be more or less impossible to test for difficulty, although I can make the difficulty of the waves scale... it would just feel much more infuriating to play I'd think due to the wildly varied difficulty. :)

What I also like best about this particular mission, in addition to it being an American defense mission, it's one where there's contextual reason for you to be a mostly infantry and light vehicle force holding off against heavy enemy tanks and reinforcements. It's just not simply the same to have a big line of heavy tanks to face off heavy tanks imo.

It gives it a sort of Bastogne kind of feel.

I think there are already plenty of Werhmacht defense maps but not nearly enough American/British ones (or better still a jointly allied thing. Jointops had Ramelle where it would work if both players wanted to be british and/or american).

Your maps btw work perfectly for a single player as much as a Co-op. or rather they don't crash at least.

I'll be honest, I'm a shameless compstomper. One of those people who finds offmap artillery strikes (or enemy artillery) in general quite annoying as it disrupts a beautiful, well prepared defense.

But for the purpose of a true game, endless until the player loses is the most common way to do it. But I've honestly found some of the best games to be "Endless waves, but victory can be achieved through holding off the enemy just enough so that you can achieve the objective" either taking out the enemies base or some other important goal.

In a way it achieves the best of both worlds, you must first build up a solid defense and stop the waves of enemies from simply overwhelming you, then save up enough for a deseprate sally forth to attack. That's the point when players can choose to do that or be content with defending and racking up the kills.

@acv55555: I won't be able to do it for this map but I'd be willing to make a new scenario based on the idea of an endless battle using a pre-existing map. How do you propose for the player to win? Or is it endless until the player loses?

Will the players acquire reinforcements? There are a few aspects which would be nice if you can help clarify for me. Provide as much detail as you see fit. The more the better and I'll see if I can fit it in or if it makes sense to fit it in.

I have no idea what Coh2 scar files are like, but if they are anything like JointOPs (again this is working on the presumption that you script using Scar files in the first place) can't you just remove the trigger that summons the final King Tigers and Airstrikes at the end of the mission? That seems to be the highpoint.

Don't really need it to get progressively harder indefinitely, but it would be nice if, for the endless version, you just sent a few more tanks or something than normal.

@acv55555: I can make it endless but it wouldn't get progressively harder. Perhaps give the Art of Defense mod a try. I've not played it but I heard it is somewhat like what you want.

Would you be able to make an endless defense version of this map? A sort of last stand? I really enjoy it a lot! It's one of the better mission maps for Coh2 and reminds me of jointops in Coh1

I'm happy to hear you guys enjoyed playing it and the name gave your friend a good laugh. The issue regarding the point is known, but is unfixable as it has to do with the game itself and not the mission unfortunately.

Tonight, I finished this thrilling scenario with my friends(Col. Krusnov & Saturn) and I would say it was awesome, though this one is easier than Last Street of Berlin.

There were bunch of things that made this scenario not absolute easy, which are enemies positions at reinforcement, Urban Assault Panzergrenadier(What the actual buck is this unit, very tough to kill XD), "Hard to kill" reinforced sturv, and manpower management,. Overall these four factors made this scenario quite challenging.

I found one during the gameplay. Munition point at the east side could not be capture(not show capturing progress) until wehrmacht re-captured.

To summarize, this scenario is still awesome and thrilling very hard til the end.

P.S. I find it funny that 2nd Lieutenant named "Ballsack". My friend kinda laugh it so hard.

@miloszpolska: No, you're supposed to play as US only. Sometimes the map locks you into another faction because it is your first time playing this map.

To solve this problem, find a way to reset the map. You can do this by getting the host to re-select the map or if you are the host, just change to another map and back to this one. After this is done, you should be locked into US faction only.

Unfortunately because of the coding it is pretty much impossible to make my maps mod compatible. Even if it is compatible it will be more by chance than by design. I hope you can continue to enjoy my maps regardless! :)

@frankiejou: The idea for the end was to intercept the King Tiger before it reaches the point. If the King Tiger reaches the end it will usually target the Captain in the house.

I feel players have sufficient methods to complete the ending. Ranger demolitition charges, re-crewed enemy Ratkenwerfers, bazookas in houses, possible player commander abilities and distraction infantry units all can play a part in defeating the final boss.

Despite its veterancy and health bonus, it's still only one single King Tiger. Having tested this mission thoroughly alone and with other testers I do believe the ending to be both challenging and fair. :)

@frankiejou: We have tested this map extensively and thought the current difficulty was the best balance between challenge and win-ability. You can also check out the video in this Workshop page to see how to get to the very end. The guys lost at the last enemy but it shows how possible it is to win.

@Eren.Woisy: It shouldn't be endless unless the code broke in your gameplay. Average completion time is around 42 minutes.

I should mention you must talk to Captain Walker at the medical point to start the gameplay by moving your units close to him. Otherwise the mission will not start.

@MahatMax: When you encounter the Fatal Scar Error. Double press the Backspace key to set the camera todefault angle. Then Hold Ctrl + Hold Shift + Press the ' button.

A rather large black overlay will appear from the top of the screen. You need to find the line which begins with 'Ln <number>'. You may need to press Page Up or Page Down key to scroll through. Tell me all the Ln numbers in the black overlay and I'll see if I can fix your problem.

Exactly: no empty slots, no mods, no winning condition, fixed positions.
I was able to get it going with random when i got some german units. So something seems to be odd.
