Hey, can I take take the car wreck models from here and publish them as their own mod so me and other people can use it without needing to install the map?

@Sir Drevden - Yes you can! You can port this 'mod' to about any map including this one.

Do note: This is a 'damaged area'. As such, there is a LOT of 'debris' all over the map which may cause issues for AI. Be forewarned! Also, for SOME, this map and a lot of AI MAY BE an issue for people (i.e., lag).

@Butter Fliege - This is a MAP ONLY.

There ARE missions for this map which you can download. Do note, as this is a 'warn torn map', there is a LOT of 'clutter'. If you have a mid level or LESS of a PC, you MAY 'struggle' with this map as well as any missions.

It IS a nice map though and ONLY a map.

@CJB - While I do not use such, any mod that looks good on the 'standard Chernarus map' will look fine here too.

Its basically the same map with 'debris/damage tossed in'.

Which winter/snow mod goes best with this map?

@Ultimate Spice - I know we can only do what we have to do things with, in all truth. this map does not lag on newer computers.


Some tips:

IF you have a TRADITIONAL HDD(s), defrag it/them FROM AN USB BOOT!

Lower your video settings such as grass, or even turn it off. Or lower the screen resolution.

Use less numbers of EVERYTHING...men...planes...tanks...ANYTHING that is placed by you/mission.

Increase your system RAM and/or swap file

You could also can get 'Razer Cortex' - free and will help with getting the 'best' of your PC by whacking background stuff while you play. Google it! I used to use it for years. It DOES work!


Do note: ARMA is NOT the best optimized game. Though I have what I would call a 'B+' system, I struggle on a few missions. Its more of an 'ARMA issue' than on YOUR end.

(Boot to USB, delete all swap/temp files, THEN defrag!)

Doesn't really work. Arsenal isn't saved, it mentions opening mod settings that do not exist, vehicle spawning gives you an epileptic seizure, and so on.

One of the best maps ive ever played.

You will have to 'fix it' yourself and 're-key' it if you wished to have others use it on MP. Otherwise, just fix for yourself! :)

hey i was just started making a solo mission and i notice a building floating with its main floor still on the ground the location is black forest resort

is there a kp liberation mission for this?

I had a lot of fun exploring this map in the editor, setting up a scp/stalker style mission for me bois. Lots of POIs to discover which arent even stated in the short text! Really worth a look if you like the rusty feel and atmosphere of chernarus

@Nosykov - Sorry! You are wrong! The DEFAULT Chernarus map does NOT do this! It is ONLY ONE CHERNARUS MAP THAT CAN CAUSE THIS! (And it is NOT this version/map/mod!)

There is very little you can do except get a 'better computer' or use other maps.


If it is crashing on ALL Chernarus maps, then I suspect your ARMA/mods are bad/corrupt/old/etc.

Hey, this ( and all other chernarus maps) seem to cause crashes on macs when being near any big cities or airbases.

@eliseyorig - This is an issue on your end. Some things that WILL help:

Use no other mods
Get more actual RAM
Get a faster CPU
Reduce the number of background programs running (Use Razor Cortex - Free and it works!)
If using a traditional HDD that has ARMA OR your OS on it DEFRAG ALL THE TRADITIONAL HDDS!

I noticed everyone has issues in the 'NE' part of the map.

Is it possible to get a version of this map that doesn't have all the DayZ accouterments? I really enjoy the map as is, but I would like to play a more modern version of Chernarus that isn't just the Arma 2 port maps.

If anyone has issues with FPS, look up Sarogahtyp Livonia Script. Removes a percentage of objects that have a lot of duplicates. Recommended for maps like these, Xcam, Livonia, and Tanoa

@Ace - I agree with what you state, doing such would 'go against' the theme of the map and I doubt this will ever happen, though I am NOT part of the dev team. As a different option, you could use 'Chernarus 2035' map instead. Very well done and has no 'clutter', as well as 'expanded' above the default Chernarus map.

@Ace - Both would have to be done via the editor (i.e., create a mission). If you used option #2, you COULD do such by a script file which you could call when you ran any mission on, though this script would have to be in every mission folder though.


So you know, this same issue exist for the 'Esseker' map too, which is a very unique map as well.

Does a non-apocalyptic version of this exist? This map has a ton of interesting locations, but the vehicles cluttering the roads and airports is really a pain for any kind of AI path finding.

I can make due if not, but would be nice.

something in the mod is broken. Every time I launch it, It freezes and I cant seem to fix it

@bijx - This is one of the things I was talking about him looking into.

The only issue I have with the mod you listed is that you can not use other types of sound files such as WAVs, MP3, etc.

Needs a little work 'here and there', overall, it appears to be interesting!
