Update: Dec 31, 2021 @ 4:34am

  • Changed the end of the Chinese Civil War to be triggered by a decision rather than an event. This decision highlights provinces that need to be conquered to complete the reunification, giving players a better idea of what needs to be conquered.

  • Should a chinese province be occupied by Communist rebels during the Chinese Civil War, an event may fire which releases the Chinese Soviet as a Civil War participant.

  • Added a small event-chain for the capture of Napoleon III by German forces during the Franco-Prussian War.

  • Added a decision and events for the Treaty of Frankfurt and the end of the Franco-Prussian War. Should a north-german Great Power be winning a war against France, they may demand peace in return for Alsace-Lorraine via a decision.

Update: Dec 23, 2021 @ 9:42am

  • Prime Minister rulers should now have more normal-sounding names (fixed an issue where they would have two lastnames).

  • Improved the unification process between Wallachia and Moldavia.

  • Added the Rhineland, Alsace-Lorraine, Wallonia and Flanders as releasable tags in 1836.

  • Added a new subject type: Colonial Company. Combining elements of a Vassal and Colonial Nation, this subject is loyal but suffers increased autonomy in its owned provinces.

  • Added an optional decision to "Release the East India Company" as Britain. This releases the EIC as a Colonial Company subject.

  • Dominions no longer suffer from "Unstable Autocracy" unrest.

  • Increased trade power gain from Spheres.

  • Minor improvements to code for subject-types.

Update: Dec 14, 2021 @ 11:37am

  • Slight improvements to the Berlin Conference event. The event now has a higher chance of triggering in Berlin, and also uses better localization when refering to the conference capital.

  • Expanded the Oriental Crisis disaster, newly added events add some alternate routes that the conflict can go down. Should the Ottomans decisively defeat Egypt they may annex the country entirely, otherwise the conflict may end in a compromise (historical Convention of London).

  • Slight overhaul to the American Civil War disaster. The USA no longer suffers a movement penalty, a movement penalty is instead applied to every USA and CSA province (only applies to enemy units) for the first year of the war. Also added an ending event for the war; "Reconstruction".

  • Reworked parts of the Chinese Revolution disaster. Long story short; the Wuchang Uprising is now significantly more chaotic and the Warlords rise up much later. Also added new warlord tags to central China to make the region less empty.

  • Changed numerous historical wars in bookmarks to use the Civil War Casus Belli.

  • Changed the "The Great Trek" event to make playing as Transvaal or Orange possible. Also fixed an issue where these two nations would lack institutions.

  • Added two different decisions to Form South Africa, one for Boer nations and another for native South African culture nations. These decisions form two different variants of South Africa, with different flags and national ideas.

  • Incorporated the "United Kingdom" namechange for Great Britain into the dynamic country renaming system. The "Form United Kingdom" decision remains, and is used to unlock this namechange.

Update: Dec 6, 2021 @ 4:45am

  • Added "Admit Hegemony" peace treaty. This allows German Great Power nations to steal the entire Sphere of Influence within Germany of another German power. For example; Prussia can force Austria to give up their influence in Germany, putting former Austrian spheres under Prussian influence instead.

  • Better optimized country renaming system.

  • Removed decisions to change country name to "*Country Adjective* Empire". This is instead now done automatically via the country renaming system.

  • Minor optimization of country forming decisions.

Update: Nov 29, 2021 @ 10:17am

  • Updated thumbnail image.

  • Overhauled the Monroe Doctrine system. Should an outside nation invade a new-world country, the US now has an option to intervene on the defenders side.

  • Overhauled the "Chaos in the Balkans" disaster, now renamed "Nationalism in the Balkans". The disaster now begins when the Nationalism institution has spread to the Balkans, and has a variety of different potential outcomes. Should the Ottomans be unable to handle the rebels that spawn, foreign powers may get involved...

  • Overhauled parts of the country renaming system. Modding custom country names based on government type is now easier.

  • Updated image used for "Landed Parliament" reform.

  • Added minor misc. decisions:
-If China is overrun with Communist Rebels the government can relocate to Taiwan via decision.

-Communist nations can now release North Korea as a sphere if they control provinces in northern Korea.

-Democratic nations can likewise release South Korea as a sphere.

-Monarchist nations controlling provinces in Manchuria can release Manchukuo as a vassal state.

  • Added/reworked minor misc. events:
-Countries with the Corporations estate may have events where industrialists wish to build factories in random owned provinces.

-Factories built in low-development provinces may triggers events where the province owner has to pay for the buildings upkeep, or risk having the factory close due to bancrupty.

-Finland now declares independence if they're a subject of a Russian Republic.

-The Belgian Congo event no longer releases the Congo as a Protectorate. If Belgium is a monarchy, they recieve the Congo in the form of a Personal Union, otherwise it becomes a Belgian Vassal.

Update: Nov 15, 2021 @ 6:12am

  • Updated for the latest Extended Timeline patch.

  • Fixed an issue where the game would crash upon saving due to an issue with British missions. (Yes, I'm serious. This took me 3 hours to figure out.)

  • Fixed an issue where Dominions would change their overlords map color.

  • Overhauled the Spanish Civil War disaster. The disaster now triggers a war between the Regular and Republican Spanish variant tags, while other countries gain the ability to support either side via decision (or condottieri).

  • Opinion modifiers between nations based on ideology are now more nuanced. The conditions for a nation to be considered democratic has been broadened, while autocratic governments now also suffer relations penalties with ideologically opposing nations.

Update: Nov 11, 2021 @ 10:29am

  • Updated for version 1.32.

  • Added forts to Indonesia in later startdates.

Update: Nov 9, 2021 @ 11:50am

  • Added a number of new flavor events for Portugal, including events relating to historical reforms and revolutions, aswell as Lusotropicalism and decolonization.

  • Added more decisions and event relating to the German Confederation. German nations are no longer forced to join the Confederation when it's formed, and instead have an option to join or leave it anytime via a decision.

  • The Confederation will no longer collapse seemingly at random, and is instead dissolved if either: enough members leave via decision or Germany is united without the Confederation leader. Members have improved relations, but cannot declare war against each other.

  • Added a number of new tags representing island nations. Most of these aren't independent, but have cores on their respective provinces in relevant start dates and are releasable.

  • Finland is now a "Governorate General" of Russia in startdates between 1809 and 1917. Governorate General is a new subject type that is nearly identical to a personal union, difference being that they can't be religiously converted and can only be integrated if they share the same culture group as their overlord. This prevents Russia from converting or integrating Finland without some "russification", if you know what I mean.

Update: Nov 4, 2021 @ 7:18am

  • Fixed an issue where the Isle of Mann or Jersey sometimes became free if the ruler of Britain died.

  • Countries with variant tags now remain/shift to ideologically relevant tags if turned into a Military Junta, ex. a communist nation with the Military Government reform will now use its communist variant tag.

  • Added a Republican Variant tag for Finland (FIL), featuring their modern flag.

  • Added a new peace option usable during Civil War scenarios; Acknowledge Secession. A seceding nation can force the other party to acknowledge their secession, removing cores on the seceding country's land.

  • Overhauled the Dissolution of Central America event. The starting event now triggers Civil Wars with Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. If the CA government can restore control over the southern states, the event ends with a stability bonus. Should all the states succeed in their secession, it'll result in the Federation collapsing entirely with Guatamala and El Salvador also breaking free. A mix of both scenarios can also happen.

  • Rebalanced the American Civil War. For the sake of giving the CSA a fighting chance, the Union now suffers a year-long penalty to troop movement speed from the moment war begins. The Confederates on the other hand gain a year-long buff to troop recruit-speed. This turns the first year of the war into more of a setup phase.

  • Having a Liberal or Social Democratic party in power with the political reforms "Limited Party System" or "Landed Parliament" may now trigger an event that changes these out for "Multi-party System" or "Elected Parliament" respectively, as politicians push for increased suffrage. This makes the reform process a little bit more organic.

  • Disabled Mormon religion due to issues with crashing.

  • Should the leader of the German Confederation "Unify the German States" via decision, they'll now change to a German Confederation tag as opposed to regular Germany.

  • Significantly overhauled Italian unification:

  • Central Italian states may now form Central Italy via decision. Sardinia-Piedmont (or any other strong neighbouring Italian state) have a chance to annex Central Italy by event if it suffers from instability.

  • Added an event-chain for Garibaldi's invasion of Sicily. Should Sardinia-Piedmont decide to sponsor the invasion they may be able to annex the Two Sicilies, or else Garibaldi might unite the south on his own.

  • These new events are designed to assist in (somewhat) recreating the historical unification of Italy, and as such the decision to Unify Italy has also been updated to reflect these changes.

  • Updated some misc. localization.

  • Added event pictures for misc. events.

  • Updated existing ETF event pictures to amend a poor choice of compression.

Update: Oct 28, 2021 @ 7:43am

  • Countries now change to available variant tags upon forming a tag with an available variant.

  • Countries with custom names will now properly have these removed upon forming another tag. (Both this and the above mentioned change are achieved by modifying the "New Traditions & Ambitions" event, and only apply to select nation forming decisions that trigger this event.)

  • Gave Italy and Russia variant tags with monarchist flags. Russia now also has two alternate Communist tags, the Russian SFSR and the Soviet Union.

  • Added the Mexican Empire as a formable tag.

  • AI nations will now avoid conquest in the New World once any GP nation has embraced the Monroe Doctrine.

  • Decisions to "Centralize" Yemen or Malaya no longer release the nations as protectorates, but instead add their respective cores and annexes the land to the decision-taking nation.

  • Added new Taiping national ideas.

  • Added new graphical icons for every ETF disaster.

  • Updated misc. graphical icons.
