Update: Dec 26, 2024 @ 4:24am

- Updated mod for the latest ET release.
- Added new releasable tags: Norrland, Santa Catarina, Hazarajat.
- Ruanda-Urundi are now German/Belgian protectorates in history, as opposed to direct colonies.
- Updated government reforms of various countries in 1444 to match vanilla.
- Updated historical forts and university buildings.

Might as well also give an update on the overall status on the mod's development. You may have noticed that updates have gotten more scarce and smaller in size this past year. This is primarily because I no longer have as much freetime nor, to be honest, interest to work on this mod actively anymore.
When I started working on it back in 2020, I was a bored secondary school student stuck in quarantine lockdown. I'm now a university graduate with a full-time job, so I hope you can understand why my priorites have shifted.

This doesn't necessarily mean the mod is dead however! I intend to continue maintaining it for as long as EU4 and ET continues receiving updates, hopefully ensuring it will keep working with the latest version of the game. I can't however promise major content additions (such as new events and formable nations) going forwards, but we'll see.
Regardless, I hope you've enjoyed playing Extended Flavor over the past few years! It's been a great creative outlet for me, and has taught me a lot along the way.

Update: Jun 15, 2024 @ 9:22am

- Updated mod for newest ET version.

Update: Jun 10, 2024 @ 10:19am

- Updated cores in history.

Update: May 9, 2024 @ 6:15am

- Updated mod for version 1.37.
- Added new starting reform: "Federal Elective Monarchy". This reform simulates election mechanics for the UAE and Malaysia, where monarchs are elected from among local rulers for 5-year terms. New rulers start with low legitimacy, but gain legitimacy from being reelected.
- Added new tags: Western Togoland, Griqualand and Mahabad.
- Updated flags of French African colonies.
- Disabled entrenchment system to reduce lag (system is just way too inefficient).

Update: Dec 5, 2023 @ 12:29pm

- Added new tags: Republic of Rif, French West Africa and French Equatorial Africa.
- Added Industry Score display to diplomacy interface.
- Added decision for Interwar Hungary to end Horthy's regency and select a new ruler.
- Updated country diplomacy ideology tooltip to include flavor text about the selected country's government reforms.
- Updated subject type selection event that triggers on releasing a country.
- Updated province cores in history.
- Removed "Seat of Government" modifier from country capital provinces (due to new UI modding making it redundant).

Update: Nov 6, 2023 @ 6:00am

- Updated mod for version 1.36.
- Added a few new Cold War events.
- Added (semi-)historical railroads to a lot of provinces around the map.
- Added historical British-Canadian colonial governors.
- Added decision to form the Kazakh Khanate.
- Split up historical Kazakh Khanate into four new tags: Bukey, Kishi, Orta and Uly.
- Lesotho, Eswatini and the Maldives are now British protectorates, as opposed to colonies, in history.
- Updated historical government reforms and technology groups of many countries.
- Updated historical trade goods around the map.
- Country diplomacy interface now shows country ideology.
- Country diplomacy interface now shows membership of the GCF or EU, much like how HRE membership is displayed.
- Changed Ba'athist Iraq tag from "BAT" to "IRB".
- Countries ruled by Prime Ministers can no longer become HRE Emperor.
- Fixed being unable to select subject type when releasing some countries as subjects.
- Fixed unintended countries from starting as members of the German Confederation.
- on_actions are now additive, meaning compatibility with other mods should be way better!

Update: Sep 8, 2023 @ 7:07am

- Added "African Diaspora" as its own new culture group, encompassing cultures such as Afro-American, Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Brazilian (new).
- Added new "Seminole" culture to Florida history.
- Added new "Comanche" culture to Texas history.
- Added many new forts to North American history.
- Added some more Warlords to Chinese history.
- Added decision for Malay countries to form Malaysia.
- Added decision for Morocco to colonize the Sahara, bypassing "Hard to Colonize" modifiers (which is needed for their mission tree).
- Added decision for Surakarta/Yogyakarta to reform Mataram.
- Added nation-renaming decisions for every major island in Indonesia (for example, a country with its capital on Java can change its country name to "Java", if enough provinces are owned on the island).
- Added new province modifiers affecting supply, attrition and trade in different parts of the world. Regions such as the Sahara Desert and Australian Outback for example suffer from sharply reduced supply, while regions such as the Amazon Rainforest and Congo Basin have higher goods produced but various penalties for traversing armies.
- Added Don, Kuban and Volga as releasable nations in south western Russia.
- Added an event that triggers for Great Powers who are at peace during the start of a Great War, giving these countries a chance to join the war on either side or opt for neutrality.
- Added "Inner Mongolian" National Ideas.
- Added event to release New Zealand as a colony.
- Updated Australian colonial events, fixing bugs and improving performance.
- Updated conditions for various "Reorganize region" type decisions.
- Updated historical province occupations during the American Civil War.
- Updated Arabian history.
- Various changes to country and province history all over the place. Government reforms, ruler personalities, province cores, etc.
- "IRA" and "IR2" tags have switched purpose ("IR2" now represents modern Iran).
- "Islamic Republic" reform now has a "Statists vs. Monarchists"-type mechanic concerning "Republicans vs. Theocrats". The reform is now exclusive to Republics (cannot be used by Theocracies).
- Embracing the Nationalism Institution now increases unrest in culturally diverse countries. Having the overwhelming majority of your state province development belonging to accepted cultures removes the latter penalty, and unlocks a new modifier called "Multinational State". Countries who's state province development overwhelmingly belong to a singular culture instead unlock a slightly stronger modifier called "Nation State".
- Neutral countries now get increased Influence resistance.
- Ideology-based opinion values can now be changed via custom modifiers. Various modifiers in the game use this feature to change opinion of other countries based on political ideology more dynamically (e.g. "Anti-communist" ruler personality trait now directly reduces opinion of Communist countries).
- Minor performance improvements.
- Updated "Spheres of Influence" components.
