Update: Oct 22, 2021 @ 3:42am

  • Added some new unique event pictures for existing events.

  • Updated some miscellaneous graphical icons.

  • Certain nations now change tag upon being made a subject. Norway, for example, changes tag to SNO and adopts a new flag if made a subject by Sweden.

  • Added a new Triggered Modifier, "Total War", which grants signifcant bonuses of Manpower and Jingoism to nations fighting several Great Powers simultaneously after mil-tech 82.

  • Remade the Imperial Restoration disaster (almost) entirely. The disaster now uses Civil War mechanics, similarly to those used in other ETF disasters, and triggers a civil war between the Imperial court and Shogunate government upon firing.

  • The Berlin Conference event now selects a random european great power's capital to serve as a host for the conference. All this does is change the title of the event.

  • Rewrote and improved a bunch of code for chinese events. It should hopefully not feel like China just gives you land for free anymore, as these events are now more likely to lead to war.

Update: Oct 9, 2021 @ 8:20am

  • Cleaned up and improved the Revolutions of 1848 disaster.

  • Slightly reduced AI expansionism in later bookmarks.

  • Fixed some minor errors in code.

Update: Sep 24, 2021 @ 3:23am

  • Fixed a minor issue with Carlist Spain.

Update: Sep 24, 2021 @ 2:42am

  • Updated the Opium Crisis event and modifier. The decision to "Root Out the Opium Trade" is now accessible much earlier, allowing a modernized China to cast of the curse of Opium.

  • Updated the Chinese Revolution slightly: Conditions for the disaster starting have been changed, the Warlord Era event now releases more warlord tags should the target own provinces outside of the "traditional" China regions, also added an event that better explains the ensuing Civil War and Warlord mechanics.

  • Added a smoother system to switch between "variant" tags. Switching government type or ideology now instantly changes the tag of some countries to variants more fitting that type, with an optional event to also switch ideas to the ideas of the variant. (Known Issue: Sometimes ideas change to Generic Ideas while doing this, a potential temporary solution is to enter "event ideagroups.1" into the console after changing tag.)

  • Added republican variant tags for the Netherlands and Austria (DRP and HA2 respectively), while the original NED and HAB tags have had their flags changed to be more "monarchist".

  • South Africa is now represented using two different tags based on the timeperiod, during or after Apartheid.

  • Gave Australia and New Zealand new flags, based on their current modern flags.

Update: Sep 14, 2021 @ 4:47am

  • Introducing Welfare Reforms. Beginning in the Industrial Age you'll now be able to introduce various forms of welfare to your nation via decisions, granting reduced unrest and other modifiers at the cost of increased corruption.

  • Added "The Great Game", an event where Russia and Britain race to conquer land in Central Asia/Northern India.

  • Added a bunch of new minor cultures to existing culture groups.

  • Incorporated a bunch of existing ETF cultures into vanilla culture groups.

  • Added the Saarland, a protectorate of France between 1946 and 1957.

  • Changed province development in Victorian startdates. Lowered development throughout: Anatolia, the Levant, the gulf-states and various high-dev provinces in the new world.

  • Properly implemented Nationalist China (ROC tag) into the history files. This tag is now used across bookmarks between 1928 and 1949 to represent the Republic of China.

  • Nerfed Gas Attack. Changed General Staff to provide bonuses to Army Trad. and Army Prof. instead of improving General stats. Also overhauled the Army Professionalism ETF tooltip to be more informational.

  • Gave Italy a more interesting flag.

Update: Sep 3, 2021 @ 6:43am

  • Slightly changed the German Unification decisions. Removed requirement to be a Great Power. North Germany and South Germany now gain claims on the opposing half's provinces that are owned by non-Germans (So in historical scenarios, NGC would gain claims on Alsace-Lorraine, while SGC gains claims on Schleswig-Holstein).

  • Added the East India Company as a releasable tag. Cores of the Company appear in Indian provinces owned by Britain across bookmarks between 1600-1858. Releasing the Raj automatically deletes Company cores.

  • Nations who lack the necessary tech will no longer recieve free manufactories and factories on game-start.

  • In Victorian era startdates: Most "New-world" nations now start off with permanent claims on their historically colonized territories. Other nations are prevented from colonizing empty provinces with permanent claims, while nations whomst the claim belongs to gain a significant local bonus to settlement growth if colonized.

  • Reduced attrition for land units traveling on open seas to 2%.

Update: Aug 28, 2021 @ 5:02am

  • Added "Form Bosnia-Herzegovina" decision.

  • Added a new decision based system to form "variant" tags. For example; a Communist Germany (GER) can now "Proclaim People's Republic of Germany", changing it to the East-Germany tag (EGE) with a new flag and map-color. This change was previously done via an event, but is now an optional decision available for several countries with available "variants".

  • Added the Durrani Empire, a tag formable by any Afghan nation that can both unite Afghanistan and conquer Pakistan.

  • Added Carlist Spain as a tag, the "First Carlist War" event now changes Spain to this tag should the Carlist side be picked.

  • Added Nationalist China as a tag (ROC). This tag is almost identical to the Kuomintang tag, and is now used in most instances that the former was used. The Kuomintang (KUO) is now exclusively used to represent Taiwan.

  • Added unique sets of National Ideas for Republican Spain and Carlist Spain respectively.

  • Added new government/ruler titles.

  • Optimized behind-the-scenes code for government reforms.

  • Optimized and bug-fixed Raj and Dominion events.

  • Added several flavor events relating to Ireland, including the Easter Rising, Irish War of Independence, and an eventual event for the UK to release the Irish Free State as a dominion.

  • Added several flavor events relating to Hawai'i, including the Hawaiian Constitution, Paulet Affair, and eventual revolution and annexation by the US.

  • Significantly overhauled the Chinese Revolution. The disaster is now far less event/"story" heavy, and instead focuses much more on gameplay and war. An event called "The Warlord Era" triggers if the Wuchang uprising is a success, and collapses China into Warlord tags, all of whom are playable (More tags have been added to accommodate this change). While at war, warlords can annex occupied provinces of other warlords via an event, making expansion quicker and easier while also removing the need for peacedeals.

Update: Aug 19, 2021 @ 4:05am

  • Added several new Form Nation decisions for minor nations.

  • Added the United Baltics, a new tag formable by any Baltic nation that controls both Estonia and Latvia.

  • Added the United Principalities (of Romania), a tag formable by either Wallachia or Moldavia if either nation can conquer/inherit the other. Forming this tag unlocks an alternate path to Form Romania, one that is easier to do than the vanilla decision.

  • Added Austria-Hungary as a tag. Decisions to form Austria-Hungary now change to this tag, as opposed to being a simple name-change.

  • Added Rojava as a tag, replacing the Kurdistan tag previously used in eastern Syria.

  • Added Puerto Rico as a tag, with cores on Puerto Rico in later bookmarks.

  • Added a Republican Spain tag with the classic Red-Yellow-Purple flag.

  • Added a flavor event for Spain, the First Carlist War, triggered in the 1836 bookmark. Included with the event is an option to become Carlist Spain.

  • Overhauled the nation cores present in Spain. Spain in later bookmarks now has more potential releasable nations, some based on modern day Spanish Autonomous Communities.

  • Switzerland in 1836 has been balkanized. The region is divided into cantons, all of whom are Canton Subjects of Bern. Unification can happen through a decision to federalize the confederation.

  • Added a short event chain for the Taiping Rebellion in China.

  • Added a new rebel type: Pan-Nationalists, rebels who wish to unite their Culture-group. These are still a work-in-progress.

  • Signficantly powered-up Great War Dismantle peace option. The target nation is now also forced to release every releasable nation with cores on its land.

  • Removed Treaty of Versailles, Saint-Germain and Brest-Litovsk peace options. The beefed-up Great War Dismantle is now used instead.

  • Slightly changed combat width reduction from military tech. 19th-century military tech will now reduce combat width to a minimum of 20, as opposed to the previous 10. Combat width now also changes more gradually, decreasing in smaller increments as tech is researched.

  • Highways are now unlocked with diplomatic tech level 82, significantly later than previously.

Update: Aug 6, 2021 @ 9:47am

  • Armies available on game-start are now slightly smaller and less random. Every nation with 90+ naval forcelimit now also starts of with 60 transport ships.

  • Added new strait-crossings to various island groups around the world, this should hopefully improve AI competence and reduce the need for transports in these regions.

  • Slightly changed decision 'Unite Italy' to increase the likelyhood that unification occurs in the 1836 bookmark.

  • Monarchy's can now have a Prime Minister rule for life, through the new 'Ministrial Dictatorship' reform.

  • Added a new tier of government reforms for monarchies, granting some small flavor bonuses.

  • Improved implementation of political parties. The amount of starting influence political parties have is now more sensibly distributed based on the time period.

  • Improved implementation and stability of ideology-based opinion modifiers.

  • If an overlord releases a nation as a vassal, it can now decide what type of subject that nation should be via an event. This event only fires during the Industrial Age or later.

  • Extended Army Professionalism info window.

  • Added Åland, Faroe Islands and Jersey tags.

  • The Faroe Islands is an autonomous dominion of Denmark in bookmarks after 1948, Åland gains a core on the Åland Isles in bookmarks after the 1920's.

  • Jersey and the Isle of Mann are now ruled as "Crown Dependency" subjects to Great Britain. These subjects... do literally nothing, as is historically accurate for Jersey and the Isle of Mann. What more did you expect?

  • Added a Civil War CB, used for easily annexing other tags in Civil War scenarios. The only available peace option usable in a Civil War is "Unite the Nation", which annexes the opposing war participant and inherits their cores.

  • Removed Chinese Civil War CB.

  • Added a Xinhai Revolution bookmark.

  • Bugfixed and significantly overhauled parts of the Chinese Revolution disaster. Fixed an issue where the disaster would instantly end on being fired, the Kuomintang now also spawn much later into the disaster, after the Empire of China is proclaimed.

  • Overhauled historical government reforms of several South American nations, most S.A nations are now multi-party democracies in the modern day.

Update: Jul 22, 2021 @ 10:39am

  • Sharply reduced supply in certain deserts, tropical jungle areas and himalayan mountains. Crossing the Sahara or fighting a war in Tropical Africa is now a very bad idea if you lack supply-boosting modifiers (such as those granted by mil-tech).

  • Ideology now affects relations between nations. Nations of the same ideology gain positive relations, nations of opposing ideology suffer a relations penalty.

  • New ideologies now spawn more dynamically and randomly. They'll first spawn in a random country that fulfills relevant conditions, based on embraced institutions and government type.

  • Slightly overhauled the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The peace deal no longer adds Mexico to the American Sphere of Influence, nor does it remove Mexican cores on the ceded land. Instead, an event will fire after peace is signed where the US can decide to compensate Mexico monetarily in return for better relations and removal of cores.

  • Added a new GUI element for the Army Professionalism menu containing information regarding the different bonuses ETF adds to Army Professionalism.

  • Added two new Army Professionalism bonuses unlockable with mil tech: Gas Attack and General Staff.

  • Edited decision to Form China as Taiwan to fit the changes made to the country.

  • Added decision for the PRC to turn Taiwan into a S.A.R if sphered.

  • If India controls Burma, it will be ceded to the overlord upon granting Dominion status.

  • Malaya, Yemen, Arabia and the Raj now update their name upon changing overlord.

  • Fixed an issue regarding parliaments and reforms for players without the Common Sense DLC.

  • Changes made to history files to significantly reduce required upkeep. Some issues may arise while I'm sorting this out.
