Note:
The Type 97 Mortar will be revamped, but I wanted to get this update out sooner. Until then, there will be some misleading text for the weapon.

Changes:
Grenade Discharger suppressed scatter penalty increased to 4 from 2.
Type 1 AT Gun penetration raised by 10, to 140/120/100 for HE, and 170/160/150 for AP. AP reload time increased to 2.625/2.875 from 2.5/2.75.
Sniper Hides now increase sniper sight by 20m.
Field Workshop repair engineer count raised to 5 from 4. Radius raised to 60m from 50.
Dokuristu Kohei dispatch cooldown lowered to 30 from 60, now starts on cooldown.
UI for LFC Explosive Rounds improved. It’s hard to see, but there’s purple sealant between the bullet and the casing denoting that the round is explosive.

Bug Fixes:
Removed text errors from Engineering Strategy abilities and units.
Breakthrough Tuning now provides additional health as intended. It also increases armor by a large amount.
Button Up damage reduction was not calculated correctly- now gives a .75 damage modifier rather than .67. This means the ability increases the Chi-Ha’s effective health to 640, like other medium tanks. It also now increases armor by 30% when active.
The Chi-Ha no longer mistakenly receives shared veterancy. Requirements lowered slightly to compensate.
After a few nerfs and unfavorable bug fixes, I’m watching the Chi-Ha’s effectiveness closely. It will probably be getting that 10 penetration back.

Changes:
Hohei are now able to repair Artillery pieces.
Chi-Ha Buttoned speed reduced to 25% from 50%.
Field Workshop mp cost reverted to 150.
Field Workshop repair radius lowered to 50m from 90. Since they are no longer needed to repair buildings, this change will prevent engineers being too far from where they are needed. I will miss seeing those guys run all over the place, though.

Doctrine Changes:
SNLF Squad Type 99 Rifle close range accuracy lowered to .701 from .748 to make up for close range being set to 8m.
Ka-Mi build time raised to 70 seconds from 50. Reload time increased to 2.5/2.5 from 2/2.5. Veterancy updated and fixed: Vet 1 now improves reload speed by 20%, and does not mistakenly improve armor by 20%. Vet 2 and 3 armor bonuses fixed; each now provides a 20% bonus. It appears that vet 2 and 3 had been resetting the armor bonus from vet 1 as well. These changes should reduce the shock value of the unit, and improve its performance later in matches.
Concealment Network lowered to 3cp from 6.
Suppressing Fire now affects the Ambush Team’s 2 weapons differently. The Scoped Type 99 LMG now deals .04 suppression from .05. The Type 99 Sniper Rifle now deals .12 suppression from .05, and is penalized with -50% accuracy rather than -50% damage. Since it deals critical hits below a certain health percentage, the damage loss did not impact it very much. The intent of the suppression change was to make the ability noticeably weaker with only one squad member remaining.

UI Changes:
Text improvements.
Despite some protest, I’m reintroducing the removed haiku because they’re fun and have flavor. They’re not much less helpful than the original yellow text anyway. For information about units, please consult the “Imperial Japanese Forces Faction Guide” instead.

Research Cost Overhaul:
The consensus has been that Japan is underpowered. My theory is the issue lies with Japan’s mid-game. Their units are cost-effective, but high fuel costs discourage side-teching, which means their infantry doesn’t scale as well. The high mp cost of research negatively impacts Japan’s field presence around the time T3.5 is being researched.
Starting fuel to 10 from 20.
T1 and T2 cost lowered to 100mp/10fu from 125/20. Build time lowered to 80s from 90.
7.7mm fuel cost to 20 from 30.
T3 cost to 100mp/40fu from 150/30. Build time to 170s from 150.
Type 1 47mm AT Gun moved to HQ from T3. Gyokusai moved to T3 from HQ.
T3.5 fuel cost to 50 from 60. Now provides a free Forward Battalion Commander or Landing Force Commander.
Field Infirmary cost to 50mp/10fu from 125/15. Population increased to 1.

Other Changes:
Chi-Ha penetration lowered by 10.
Radio Post is now camouflaged permanently.
Text Improvements.

Bug Fixes:
Type 1 AT Gun now uses the correct UI.
Infiltrator now has intended reinforcement cost.
SNLF Rifle Grenade sound now plays.
Ambush Camouflage is no longer available on captured machine guns.

New Content:
Holdout Strategy is the new name of Observation Strategy. Final ability added.

Changes:
Gyokusai armor to 1 from 2, halving their resistance to small arms fire. Damage increased back to 12 from 9.
Ambush accuracy bonus lowered to 40% from 50%. Set to "Exclusive: False". It appears that vanilla ambush camouflage overrides any other accuracy bonuses or penalties.

UI Updates:
Changed Hohei portrait and icon to match the game’s style more closely.
Updated Chi-Ha 120mm symbol.
Changed Infiltrator portrait.

Changes:
Fire Support 7.7mm upgrade cost to 20mu from 30. Grenade launchers no longer provide a 10 discount, leaving their cost the same. LMG upgrade cost increased to 60 from 50, which delays their power spike slightly, and more fairly reflects the level of damage improvement 7.7mm provides (25%).

Observation Strategy added. Not complete yet; needs one more ability at 0-2cp. Looking for ideas! Bugs remain with 2-man sniper camo. UI is underdeveloped.

Changes:
Starting manpower raised to 370 from 340.
New emergency engineer callin UI.
Gyokusai rifle damage to 9 from 12. Cooldown to 1/1.25 from .75/1.25
Forward Battalion Commander bodyguard RA improved to .784 from .849. This offsets their loss of damage reduction a few patches ago.
Crit Sniper moving acc to .175 from .1, cooldown to 1.5 from 1. Performance is similar but lowered performance on the move is now audible. Crit snipers should work this way in vanilla, in my opinion.
Moving Type 99 LMG cooldown bonus decreased to .5 from .125. This lowers moving DPS at range to 2.646 from 3.157. Affects FBC and SNLF.

Doctrine Changes:
Anti-Tank Support Team sight increased to 50m from the standard 35. Type 97 AT Rifle range increased to 45 from 40.
Tenacious Defense duration to 60s from 45, cooldown to 120 from 90. Landing Force Commander variant cost to 30mu from 40.
Ki-84 cost lowered to 180mu from 200, and UI improved.
Landing Force Commander has a new look, and costs 45mp to reinforce instead of 40.
Smoke Bombs changed from a commander ability to an ability for SNLF Squads and the Type 2 Ka-Mi. Cost to 30mu from 40; cooldown to 45 seconds from 30, shared between all units. Range is 35m.
120mm Chi-Ha Upgun now available to Naval Support Strategy at 9cp.
UI improved for Dive Domb.

Changes:
Fire Support Teams now have access to Wire Cutters.
Ambush bonus raised to 50% from 37.5%. UI Improved.
Banzai enemy accuracy penalty lowered to 25% from 30%. Sniper accuracy penalty unchanged at 60%.
Engineering Strategy moved to (Mechanized Grenadier Group + Cargo Truck + Supply Drop) from (Mortar Halftrack + Railway Artillery) due to an error with how I divided the commanders.
Kohei’s Destroy Cover ability UI improved to make mention of capture rate bonus.
Update to match recent patches: Booby Traps may now be placed on CPs.
SNLF Assault Team upgrade now lowers experience value of squad members. New UI for upgrade.
Ceramic Grenade now uses more suitable model.

Hohei Squads are now able to repair structures.
Field Infirmaries and MG Nests no longer repair themselves.
Type 97 AT Rifle accuracy lowered. Fire Support Teams now have improved penetration when firing from ambush.
Observant sight bonus in cover lowered to 25 from 35. Sight Animator now appears. Recon Loiter cost lowered to 40 from 50.

Bug Fixes:
Recon Loiter is now functional.

Field Assault Officer’s “Inspire” renamed to “No Surrender”.
The Type 94 Isuzu is now loaded with supplies when not carrying infantry (visual change only).

Ka-Mi target vehicle mode is now functional.
