Description
This mod adds 5 tiers of pistols as primary weapons

Works for vanilla XCOM 2 and LW2.

The pistols must be bought separatly from normal pistols.

All pistols are fully upgradable if you a subscribing to Mod Everything Reloaded.
(Full credits for the visual upgrades to Krakah who made this possible with his
XComPistolsEnhancedRedux mod.)

Why do i need a separate mod for this/What does this mod actually do?

  • It allows classes to define the pistol category as primary weapon category, without having a soldier with bare hands

  • It tweaks the pistols so that the default position is in the hands of your soldier and not in the holster.

  • It tweaks the left hand position so that its on the pistol grip and not in the air or on the barrel in tactical combat (not perfect but the best i am capable of).

  • In loadout this left hand can't be postioned atm so i recommend using the 'laid back' personality where the soldier holds the weapon upwards.

  • It tweaks the soldiers shooting animation so the soldier don't pull and put back the pistol. Its in his hand all the time.

  • Pistols have 0.2 detection modifier like smg

  • Pistols lower the infiltration time like smg

  • Pistols give +3 mobility

  • Pistols have a clip size (6 per default) and pistol shots and perks consume ammo

Which classes support primary pistols?

Currently my LW2 Gunslinger class, the Infiltrator class and RealityMachinas Biotic Class, but every mod author can make a class for primary pistols now

and you can modify any class using primary pistols by adding this to the class defintion in XComClassData.ini

+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_PrimaryWeapon, WeaponType="pistol")

to have the class starting with pistols you need to change the loadout e.g
;+SquaddieLoadout="SquaddieMyFancyClass" +SquaddieLoadout="SquaddieMyFancyClassWithPrimaryPistol"

and in XComGameData.ini
[XComGame.X2ItemTemplateManager] +Loadouts=(LoadoutName="SquaddieMyFancyClassWithPrimaryPistol", Items[0]=(Item="Pistol_CV_Primary"), Items[1]=(Item="InsertMyFancyClassSecondryItemHere"))

If you are not comfortable with editing ini file and stuff don't worry, i am sure classes will be released in the future that use primary pistols.

What about the pistol abilities in the AWC in LW2?

Pistol abilities obtained from the AWC don't work with primary pistols since they are intended for utility slot pistols.
Sadly you can't change them with mods. So i recommend to not train them cause you can't use
them anyway.

Is it possible to make sidearms from Resistance Firearms into primaries?

I see you won't be supporting this version any longer. That's a real shame, but I'd rather have quickdraw for all than not be able to have it. I'll just end my turn myself unless I've picked up the perk. Thanks for all the great mods.

This mod gives all pistols quickdraw capabilities by default whether or not the soldier possesses the perk, and I mean all of them, primary, secondary, and utility pistols. What can be done about it? Already tried removing the file X2AbilityCost_QuickdrawActionPointsPatched but it didn't seem to have an effect.

How can I alter the damage values of these primary pistols? I got the mod that switches the coil and plasma tiers so that coil is top tier and I wanna keep things consistent.

Hi, I want to use primary pistols - specifically just the SW DC-17 blaster for my SW Clone Trooper theme - but I don't want to have to add new classes. I want to be able to use an exisiting class - specifically the sharpshooter since it has a gunslinger skill tree - to have the option to use a pistol as primary, instread of a sniper rifle.

Can the infiltrator hold a modded pistol instead of the vanilla gun ? It's not very immersive with the Lagacy weapons.
