Description


A new entry of the Dark Ages series inspired by medieval fantasy, folklores and tales in order to bring you new creatures to populate the lands of the rim. I have tried to make them fit amongst other vanilla-like animals to the best of my abilities and i certainly hope that you will enjoy them.

This mod has been partially tested in a proper playthrough, so some stats may be off, some critters might be underpowered. Let me know in the comments if you find something that i may have missed.

Q: Can you add this mod in a non-medieval playthrough ?
A: Of course, they'll just be a bit less threatening. But nothing is tech restricted.

Q: Can i add it in my current game ?
A: It should not be problematic. Tho i advise against as some features won't be present like the bearded troll hunting behaviors and the such.

Q: Will you add more to the mod ?
A: Yes, in time.

Q: How can i properly report an issue ?
A: Be sure to explain what happened properly and send a log.

Q: Why is there an owlbear and why is it named taraal here ?
A: It is a re-used asset from past-me as i didn't really want to leave it in the dust, however i didn't really feel like giving it the D&D name so i went for this. (Don't sue me Wizard of the coast)

@Halloween Indeed, i probably need to either re-do it or make a summary page on top, because odyssey STOLE my very original icon for it and it might get people confused

What do the purple symbol on the goldilox and troll mean? Is it supposed to represent they only spawn from events?

Hey Sir Van, I'm really impressed with the mod you created. It unlocked several ideas in my head, including creating an individual faction for one of the animals. I'd like to ask if you see anything against creating such a sub-mod. I'd also gladly draw from your opinion in the creative process, currently I'm at the stage of initial front designs. @not Noods Strange, that shouldn't happen. I'll check on my end, might be a problem with how their general AI is.

@Nico1213 1.6 folder in the modfile.

@Saobie They are yes, just hard to tame.

@Falco Hello, i don't directly include the translations within the mod, but you are more than free to make a translation mod for i!

@Arcollex How did you go about fighting the troll ? It is tanky, but it is very much beatable.

So, are the Rock Trolls tamable? Iv got one hidden as a rock near my base. Iv tried knocking it, tried having one person take aggro while another tames, so on so forth. Cant seem to tame it, want to know if i should just kill it or if there is a way

@Sir Van Well, it was pretty tanky XD, I was playing with Winston Waves and other mods. When a raid came, one of my colonists accidentally got too close and shot the rock, the troll woke up, dealt with the raiders, and after that Winston gave me 2 tamed animals (2 insect bosses from VFEI2), but I was surprised that the troll just killed them both in a fight, even with the support of my colonists shooting.
