Description
COMPLETELY AUTONOMOUS WAR

Recent instability in the Middle East has called for action among various PMC’s and international Governments: The failed State of Sa’hatra has become a pool of narcotics and weapons trafficking dominated by corrupt security forces and various insurgent groups. With the northern airfield being the only asset left in countering the insurgency, the 75th Ranger Regiment has partnered with Shadow Company under JSOC in a massive, persistent war with over 1000+ dynamically spawned AI troops and civilians over a 64 km^2 battlefield powered by the ALiVE system’s OPCOM AI Commander.

Watch the AI command 400+ Rangers and Shadow soldiers in ground and air assets against 600 enemy combatants in an urban-heavy environment. AI call in Close Air Support (CAS) and Combat Air Patrol (CAP) by themselves, player missions are dynamically generated and supported by friendly troops, reinforcements will be called in and dropped by helicopters, planes take off the runway and land by themselves (not perfect), the opposing AI commanders will fight until one side controls the entire map; all of this happens without any player input, it's completely plug and play with no setup required, both single player and multiplayer compatible up to 9 players.

OPTIMIZATION

Although the map and custom AI scripting used by the ALiVE system may seem taxing, the settings have been adjusted for a maximum view and spawn distance of 1500m. The ALiVE system makes local progress saving much better, rather than the vanilla game saving system which drastically increases subsequent loading times. The scenario is 100% AI controlled, from logistics to air support, you can sit back and watch the war go on for hours without massive performance hits, making for a great persistent and dynamic Milsim experience.

CLOSE QUARTERS COMBAT



CQB was kept in mind when designing this scenario, with enemies primarily being garrisoned in the main city and the surrounding towns with static MG and mortar positions. CQB placements are common, allowing for infinite combat possibilities against a large infantry-heavy force. Enemy and civilian AI roam the urban Sa’hatra streets waiting for an attack

We Bring The BOOM!



The AC-130 SPOOKY is available to AI via the ALiVE Military Air Component Commander (MACC) [alivemod.com] and to players via Simplex Support Services; only players with a map equipped may take control of the IR Operator! Air superiority fills in the military force gap; with fewer ground forces, the friendly AI has access to Apache helicopters, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-35 Lightning II, and the AC-130 SPOOKY gunship to balance firepower. Note that AI takeoffs may be slow; only one runway is available. ALiVE air tasks must be requested and assigned to available pilots that scramble and board the requested aircraft before approving and taking off. The implementation of Simplex Support Services simplifies this; players can call in for transport or CAS at any time via the CTRL+Y (default keybind) menu without waiting 10+ minutes for support to arrive.



MODLIST

The required list of mods is fair (20 mods in total) with regards to the realism, scale, and functionality of this scenario without ACE. The factions require the most addons, but without them the entire mission is not the same. Drongo's AI Fire Support (DAFS) module adds so much more CAS, artillery and autonomous functionality to this scenario, on top of ALiVE’s Air Component system, since ALiVE’s system alone requires larger and optimized airfields which this map simply cannot provide. As with any scenario, your own mods are always encouraged! Note that AI altering mods will affect performance.

HOW TO PLAY

Multiplayer tutorial

SIngleplayer

Launch ARMA 3 with all the required mods. Go to multiplayer > Host > for singleplayer, choose Local.
From the list of maps, select Sa;hatra, then within the Sa’hatra missions, select COALITION. If the scenario does not show up, it means you have not subscribed to ALL of the required mods, or the additional mods which you are using conflict with the required dependencies for the mission. To fix this, play the scenario only with the required mods loaded, then determine which mod may be breaking the game.
Once the scenario is selected, press play and select a character from the menu. I recommend playing as the first on the list, since this character has Game Master (Zeus) permissions, allowing you to spawn in any vehicle, object or team member.
Once the mission loads, select your spawn point (either on squadmates or the mobile respawn vehicle) and the game will start.
To reset progress, change the local mission .pbo name or paste "call ALiVE_fnc_ProfileNameSpaceClear" and execute in your debug menu. This is a locally saved persistent mission, everytime you save via the ALiVE “save and exit” function, your data is automatically restored on subsequent loggins.

ISSUES

AI commander does not commence attacks immediately on mission start; this is a realistically paced scenario. The AI commanders will only assign targets and send reinforcements when needed, so there may be long periods of time in between attacks.

Error message pops up at the start of the game: “There are no groups for OPCOM faction(s)
KFC_USASOC_2025! Please ensure that you have configured a Mil Placement or Mil Placement (Civ Obj) module for this faction (or faction synced to Virtual AI module). If so, please check groups are correctly configured for this faction.”

Batt Boys - 75th Ranger Regiment 2025 is not configured properly for ALiVE functionality, while JhettZero's Shadow Company is. Rangers spawn properly, are deployed via helicopters, can call in CAS and have the same functionality as Shadow, but are not assigned to the same objectives as Shadow. This does not restrict them from getting into gunfights; there’s plenty of CAG and RLTW action, however the OPCOM AI resorts primarily to Shadow Company for capturing enemy objectives probably because of the Batt Boys mod configuration.

MACC tasking for air support can be fairly slow at times, especially when friendly troops occupy the ONLY RUNWAY ON THE MAP. Be patient with it, they eventually do take off, just make sure that you do not interfere with any aircraft taking off or landing on the runway, this will disrupt the AI. Destroyed aircraft respawn.

Reinforcements inserting into the battlefield via helicopters may fly straight into a combat zone because ARMA, so they end up getting shot down easily by AA and small arms fire.

After downloading more 30gb of mods, the cenario dont start.

So it looks like to fix the army rangers faction you just need to list the 2 factions under Military AI commander as: "KFC_USASOC_2025", "B_SHADOWCOMPANY_K_17"
