Divine Order

Description

Adds a new medieval/fantasy faction to the game, along with a bunch of associated weapons, apparel, items, styles and more.

Recommended mods

Whilst this mod doesn't have any hard requirements, I'd recommend the following mods to get the full experience:

Vanilla expanded framework - Required for the shields and for certain weapons to display properly.

Possessed Weapons - If installed the elite units of the faction will use some of the weapons included in this mod.

Medieval Fantasy Themed Quest Rewards - Same as before, the elite units of the faction will sometimes have some of the items in this mod.

Medieval Fantasy Themed Rare Resources - Some apparel references items from this mod and I would say that they are overall better suited to the medieval fantasy theme.

Vanilla Ideology Expanded - Memes and Structures - If installed the faction will have the "Violent Conversion" meme.

Compatibility

The mod should be compatible with most things but works well alongside Medieval Overhaul, RimFantasy, Vanilla Factions Expanded - Medieval aswell as most of the other go-to medieval mods.

Rimedieval - Compatible but due to how Rimedieval affects pawn generation, it may cause pawns to spawn with different weapons and apparel than intended.

Content

The Divine Order faction

Either forcefully initiated or born into the order, these people are iron-clad in their faith and consider it their divine mission to cleanse the realm of what they believe to be corruption. They are highly distrustful of outsiders but not completely without reason, and have been know to form uneasy alliances if they see the benefits of doing so.

A new starting scenario

"Divine Order defectors"

A group of four defectors have stolen a sacred tablet and are on the run from the order.

New weapons and apparel

The arms, armor and clothing of the Divine Order, unlocked through completion of new research projects.

A new item, 'Sacred Tablet'

Required to be studied for the elite armor research project and is also a crafting component.

Sacred tablets can be acquired through trading with the Divine Order faction and have a chance to be carried by crusaders, inquisitors and heralds. They can also rarely appear as quest rewards.

New buildings and styles

Includes a new ritual effect, altar, sculptures and more.

A new type of horse

Larger, stronger and faster than regular horses with multiple colour variations and a unique saddle pack. Can be purchased from the Divine Order faction and can also show up with merchant caravans.

Highly recommended mods from other authors that are shown in the preview images

Medieval Overhaul for the furniture.

Doors Expanded for the doors.

Clean Textures for the flagstone texture.

Possible to add a version where the gear isn't researchable and you can only get it from their faction?

No worries, and thanks.

Yeah you have it right, rimedieval doesn't actually remove anything from the mod so it's all good there but if a Crusader rolls up on your base wearing a fancy medieval dress you now know why.

Thanks botch, again great mods hope there will be one day a work around for the rimedieval issue seems to be the easiest way to limit tech but comes with that pawn issue. tho it seems most everything can be player crafted (unless im reading wrong) so that might not be so bad as we can still get the custom armors/weapons and items.

Essentially what Rimedieval does is cause all pawns to spawn with random medieval tech level items, so instead of a rifle for example they'll have a bow or sword. The issue is, this affects everything, so mods such as this and profaned where the different pawn types have set items to spawn with will instead have the same random medieval items.

As for other ways of limiting tech, the best place to ask I think would be the medieval overhaul discord.

I would like to second Kyrox's question. Botch your mods are too good to pass up is there a tech limiter you use that doesn't mess with faction equipment? Or better yet how does rimedieval effect this and profaned mods? does it just get rid of the powder era items? would hate to go through hours of play to find out several items are completely missed or not spawned on pawn generation.

1.5?

The storyteller Maynard Medieval will limit the tech level of all factions, as long as you start the game with him and don't switch to another storyteller.

However, he does not prevent archeotech items, mechanoids, or guns, from showing up on your doorstep, even if you can't make them.

Is there an alternative to Rimedieval that you can recommend? Aiming for a Medieval playthrough but I need something that limits tech/research/items everything to Medieval.
