Description
A strange creature trapped inside a fish bowl.

The Aquatic is a fully-featured character with new mechanics and a similar design philosophy as the game's base characters.

Mechanics
  • Swim: Draw cards when you play Attacks
  • Mines: Blow up enemies, but take damage in the process
  • Hooks: Put cards from your discard pile into your hand
  • Frozen: Frozen cards unfreeze when played instead of their normal effect
  • Entangle: Prevents you from attacking

This mod was made by my friend Pubby[pubby.games]. I am uploading it because he does not have a Steam account. The art was AI generated, then edited by hand.

"Taking "Neow's Nament" at the whale makes it easier to get started. For cards, try having just a few upgraded attacks and skills in your deck rather than many. Use the "Hook" to play them twice."

Really quite good. Probably in the top 10% of ~60 mods I've tried. A bunch of diverse fun ways to scale, many of which interact. Even the one mechanic I don't love - Swim - still has a bunch of fun combos to figure out. Love it

Amazing character, but wow. Coral scale is such an OP card! You gain 1 thorn for any scale card in your deck, not in hand, or not unique. They don't purge at the end of the turn, so you can build an entire deck around nothing but scale cards and wreck anything and everything that attacks.
I'd suggest nerfing it to:
A. only apply thorns per scale cards that are in the current hand.
B. Only apply thorns per unique scale card, forcing you to collect the other scale cards to make it stronger.
C. Either remove the thorns at the end of the turn, or cause them to decrease similar to poison.
D. Lower the block value of the coral scale card. It shouldn't be giving you a massive 10 block while also giving thorns. That's better than an upgraded defend, better than an upgraded dash (which is 2 energy), and it only gets more OP upon upgrade.
