Hi, I occasionally tend to have a compiled random mod list playthrough and from my experience I've found many content mods that range from decent to good that no one talks about. If you want to try something out other than big name mods, check this out! Yes, you can play almost all of these mods together, and it may work in multiplayer too.

Update (Feb 27, 2024): I will label the version of Tmodloader that I played each mod with down below since it has been a while. You will probably only be able to play some of these mods in the latest Tmodloader update (1.4.4)


Mods with Issues:

My Personal Review
If you are wondering why there isn't much here, it's that I'll have to come back and replay some of the mods again to give a proper review since it's been months since I last played some of them. You're bound to forget when you play so many of these, especially with how I do it (30+ mods playthrough hehe).

Outstanding Mods (8/10 to 10/10)
  • AFK's PETS and more (1.4.3) (8.5/10) (Content Size - Large) - Very unique bosses, some with their own mechanics (one of them gives you a quiz before fighting, which can be annoying when you refight it multiple times). A ton of vanity and especially reference pets to choose from. Very good spritework style that stands out. And there's even a minesweeper minigame?!

Great Mods (6.5/10 to 8/10)
  • Kirby's Terraria Mod (1.4.3) (7/10) (Content Size - Medium) - Despite the spritework looking lackluster at times, it faithfully recreates the enemies and weapons from the Kirby series. Any fans of the kirby series will love playing around with the weapons. Some of the summons are the helpers from the Super Star series! I've personally enjoyed fighting the first boss, Whispy Woods.

  • Whips & More Mod (1.4.3) (6.5/10) (Content Size - Medium) - Adds quite a lot of items, especially whips if you love that play style of the summoner. Surprisingly, there's even a few bosses! The first one is from initiating a duel with an NPC and while the pattern is simple, it's a bit of a challenge (despite the megalovania music).

Decent Mods (4/10 to 6.5/10)
  • KagMod and Atherius (1.4.3) (6/10) (Content Size - Large) - I'm grouping these two together since I feel like they are both very similar. Having pretty nice content from pre-hardmode to hardmode, then the bosses post-moonlord are underwhelming and some of them are just flashy projectile spam.

  • Silver Demo (1.4.3) (4/10) (Content Size - Very Small) - Labelled as a 'demo' so things are definitely bound to change or be added. Doesn't add too much currently. The first boss, Stone Master, is awful. Very small projectiles, then once it starts teleporting randomly, you get attacked by shots you cant see.

  • Spinal Universe (1.4.3) (4.5/10) (Content Size - Extremely Small) - Only consists of just one boss and its items which is fine. However I dont like the way it spawns, which is a random chance of suddenly appearing after you enter Hardmode, and there isn't a message given like the Mech bosses warning you of it.
