This mod require more time than what I can put into it for it to work as intended. Compatibility is a big problem as well.
I will not further update this mod.

Adds a "Sentient" hediff in the brain that animals can very rarely randomly spawn with in the wild, or can be added with surgery by a highly skilled surgeon.

  • Animals with the sentient hediff can do jobs like hauling, cleaning, nursing.
  • They are always 100% trained with the most advanced training level, and their training never degrades.
  • They have the ability to talk.
  • Sentient is passed on 100% if both parents are sentient, or 1/4th of a chance if only one is sentient.
  • They're draftable

This mod throws a bunch of errors when you try to install any mods that patch and rework how romance works, it's almost like it thinks the sentient animals are making or receiving romance attempts

I have some various issues with the Housekeeper Cat + Felyne retexture

- The equip texture become purple glitch box when draft/undraft when have equip on. If zone out with camera+ they become the unequip texture.
- Using Yuran weapons (Yuran race mod) cause the entire Yuran on the map to stuck in 1 place (haven't tried with other weapon but may have the same issue, since i never seen them using it)
- When draft/undraft sometime cause Every animal with sentient in the map appear in the pawn panel

I have two cows which are sentient. But they get stuck indoors because they can't open doors sinds the game says they belong in a pen.
When forming a caravan my Colonist can't rope them because they want to go to the gathering spot by themselves so I have to deconstruct the doors for them to go through.
I'll see if I can fix it with the locks mod but yeah. Issues..

I second Narmen's question. It's frustrating having 'pen' animals not be able to open doors and just getting stuck in random places. Also makes caravans frustrating.

conflicts with speak up sadly... these are two mod i love like hell so i find myself in a Sophie's choice situation, which one to pick... sad face. literally broke my colony.

@zel:3 I think the authors idea was that you cant really think of them as animals that can be ”kept” but more like colonists
