Description
Hello Space Engineers! Welcome to the Far From Home Scenario. This is the scenario I came up with for my YouTube series: Let’s Play Far From Home Playlist. There are other YouTube playlists of this scenario by:

Abducted by a strange alien ship, following a fierce space battle you are ejected into the empty vacuum, but wait! …salvation, a friendly neutral trading post providing much needed refuge is not far away and here you are.

Your home is over 25,000kms away and no way to get there. Use this station to establish the means to begin the journey and build a basic ship so you can get underway with haste. As soon as you are able, depart for earth and build upon your ship as you travel, salvaging what you can along the way.

But be careful, this part of space may seem empty, but random encounters are out there waiting for you. Some are abandoned and adrift, many, the previous owners still lay claim too and they will protect them. Consider yourself warned.


Scenario Guidelines:

Neutrals are your friends and are to be respected, you never know when you might need their assistance:
- no attacking
- no stealing
- no hacking

All salvage is perfectly legal, this includes any ammo, ingots and ores found in cargo containers or adrift.

Stone cannot be mined from random encounters whose spawn incudes an asteroid.

[optional] For each clone lost, a dead engineer from the Frostbite DLC to be added to your ship and bought along for the ride.


Vanilla, but better with mods:

This can be a vanilla scenario, the mods listed as required are optional, however they add an interesting dynamic to the gameplay and are recommended to be used to experience the scenario as it was intended. When subscribing to the mods, please give their respective creators a thumbs up and any other means of support in recognition of their generosity.

Note that if you have MES installed, the random encounters option will be unticked in the settings, as MES will handle their spawning.

Change Notes and Bugs:
- Progression turned off by default.
- End game series 2 teaser added
- Unknown signals now enabled by default
- removed Mod 2413918072 from the included mod list, as was causing the scenario to not load
- removed inventory and fixed ownership of prop artillery

- Survival Kits AwwScrap processing config is loading as [false], should be [true]. The config is located at: %appdata%\SpaceEngineers\Saves\<SteamId>\<SaveName>\Storage\1542310718.sbm_Thraxus.
If you want to keep the defaults, just delete the file there, it will regenerate with default values. Thanks to Thraxus for their support in troubleshooting this bug.

Hi Shodan. I tired it again also and no go either. The Aww Scrap mod says it has been updated for contact and no bugs, but clearly there's something not right here, and it's not limited to my scenario world. I've logged a bug report with the creator (Thraxus) over on their discord page.

Scrap Recycling does not work on survival kit, I've tried what you said below but no luck.

Hi William. I think it's something to do with the contact update, looks like the Awww Scrap creator updated it, but there were indications of bugs in the comments. I tested the FFH game save and no scrap as well. I reloaded and saved it without the mod, then reloaded again with mod reinstalled, it's acted as a reset and scrap is back.

Hi Dyonisth. The refineries work the same way for scrap as the do for ore, just shove it all in and ingots come out... which is different from survival kits, where you need to tell it to produce ingots.

Hello, I have fun with this scenario. A question : Only the survival kit can scrap ? I have made a basic refinery but it does not crap anything.
