Hong Kong Projecting Signboard - Believe on the Lord Jesus

This asset is a semi-replica of a projecting signboard ¹ (伸出式招牌) mounted to the wall of Diamond Building (鑽石樓) in 627-633 Shanghai Street, Mong Kok[goo.gl]. The signboard is there to convey a religious message ² to the passersby.

As defined by the Buildings Department[www.bd.gov.hk], a projecting signboard is a signboard that is fixed to the external wall of a building and projects more than 600 mm from the wall.

What's on the signboard is actually a very famous verse from the Holy Bible:


So in short, it's persuading you to become a Christian. But by whom? Well, I simply don't know! You don't really see any trace of ownership from the board. So it's really hard to know who actually puts it there without looking up some government records. But probably it's by a local church or a Christian group or something.

Well, religious signboards are everywhere in Hong Kong... And most of the time, you will see boards with that famous verse but just in different layouts.

If you're like me, you will always see one during your morning commute, or just by randomly walking on the street.

I know it may be something sensitive or controversial to make, but it's really that omnipresent. So let's not feel bad about that... Our cities really need to be more inclusive and diversified, and of course, more realistic.

Anyway, just to make it clear that I'm neither trying to Christianize you nor do I have the intention to do so. What I'm trying to do is just to bring something that I can see from the real world into the game. The primary goal, as always, is to make your city looks better.

Absolutely! This asset is aligned wall-side and is by default lifted up about 4 meters from the ground. That being said, the base height is always above the average storefront. That will surely make things much easier for you!

Special Notes
