Description
This asset is RICO only!

Hello Folks,

today marks another milestone in my asset creation history. From time to time I get really invested in the things I create, and find ways to even more improve them.
This pack of "Plattenbau" is no different, as it's filled with new details and quirks.
Part of this pack is this dependency, which I'm probably gonna use for all my upcoming assets.

This milestone was also created in close collaboration with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥(TM)who, despite his name, is actually a really kind guy to talk to.
He was able to provide me with tons of photos and infos around the buildings and their surroundings, which helped a lot when creating these assets.
Here's my favorite picture by him:

(Here is his instagram[www.instagram.com])
and here's my best shot at recreating it:

Background info:

These blocks were originally planned and constructed in Leipzig. Like all WBS70, these blocks have entrances on both sides of the building.
The beige design with white tiles was especially used in Altenburg, a small town south of Leipzig. Some of the larger blocks have 18 apartments per entrance, some only the normal 12.
One interesting part of these blocks are the smaller windows, which is owed to changed heat insulation regulations at the time. The bigger windows would emit too much heat to the outside, so they had to be narrowed down.
Another fact I learned while creating these, is that all the mailboxes are inside the entrance halls. The mail man has to manually open each entrance door with its right key, to reach the mail boxes.

Naming scheme:

The 10 included buildings have been named by a system I hope is atleast somewhat understandable.
"ABG" is just the abbreviation for Altenburg, the town in which most of these buildings were found.
"WBS81" stands for "Wohnungsbauserie" or "apartment building series", "81" indicating the year the blocks have been planned. I originally wanted to name them "WBS70-1981" but I had to shorten it.
Similar blocks were also created in 1976, so I wanted to differentiate between them.
"12m"/"14.4m"/"18m" specifies the normal length of one entrance part of the building. The 12m wide ones are usually fitted to the in-game grid, so these are especially easy to work with.
"-6" just stands for the number of floors the building has. This pack solely consists of 6-floor blocks.
"3E"/"4E"/"6E" indicates the number of entrances per block, to further distinguish between them.
"-GLL"/"-GLR" and "-VBR" specify that the block has balconies (GL) on the left gable/right gable or a connector (VB) on the right gable.
The "No.1" stands for the beige color variant with white tiles, the additional numbers for another design within the same block and color variant.

In-game:

The segments can be found under their names, starting with "ABG WBS81" or alternatively by searching for "Plattenbau".
The tiled part of the balconies is color-mapped, close to original colors included.
Here's all the HEX colors used:
  • red balcony tiles: 80414C
  • yellow balcony tiles: AD8245
  • green balcony tiles: 2D4C3D
  • white balcony tiles: FEFEFE

The 12m and 18m blocks are flush with atleast one side of the plot grid, so placing them next to each other is rather simple.
All 14.4m blocks aren't flush with the plot, when placing them next to each other, Move It is required.
All segments share the same main texture file. Using the Loading Screen Mod to tremendously cut down on file size is advised.

Ich finde auch immer toll, dass Du dir nicht nur beim Assetbau sondern auch hinsichtlich Kontext, technische Details etc viel Mühe gibst!

@George Floyd
I won't do that, I instead suggest using the Repaint 1.3 mod, which has a functionality to turn on color-mapping for the whole building.

@AmiPolizeiFunk @JanJan
Thank you guys!
