Description
Why? I was looking for a way to get new crew members without searching the right station. I had the idea of stealing crew from other ships and stations, by just beaming them over to your ship. So you could use this mod just for that.
Furthermore my mind linked this approach with the behaviour of the Borg. So it was no more enough to steal crew, i wanted to assimilate ships and stations - take them over and leave Borg-tech marks on their ship hulls. From this point hull- or shield-hitpoints alone do not matter anymore, it is the crew size.
I added plenty scaling meachanics that make this crew-damage model more interesting. Smart combinations of special crew, weapon types, weapons grades and systems can change a lot.
Moreover I created a lot Borg-typical weapons and items in this mod. Some focus on lore, some on making your life easier and some are mysterious and need your investigation.

This mod changes to following:

* more starting resources
* 4 new Borg ( Star Trek) specific turrets ( crew damage!)
* the drone (when exiting a ship) looks different and has 4 turrets, and multiple buffs and special abilities
* adds 3 Borg systems
* you start with a Borg sphere ship with special buffs
* Transwarp drive for stations,the jump range is only limited by your money
* This mod can be expanded with increasing number of BCA-Addon-Mods

The new turrets:
Note:
To prevent that ai-factions from using these weapons Borg weapons can only be optained by manufacturing, perma.-installation of Borg AC System or as loot from an assimilated asteroid. They can not be purchased or be found in other wrecks.

I) Borg Assimilation beam :
- penetrates shield
- deals crew damage to the enemy while adding crew to your ship
- assimilates enemy ships
- changes the ship structure during assimilation
- converts regular asteroids (without resources) to assimilated asteroids, that can be salvaged to get resources, systems, (Borg) turrets and Money


II) Borg Traktor Beam:
- penetrates shields
- >2km : stops the enemy ship. <2km hooks the enemy ship to yours
(ever tried to grap an asteroid and trow it on stations?)


III) Borg Cutting Beam:
- penetrates shields
- armed version of salvaging laser
- increased damage to hull and very high damage to stone.

Use it for attack or to harvest assimilated asteroids. Have fun!

IV) Borg Regeneration Beam: Has an increased range and healing factor.
This turret can only be built in a factory and is also part of the drone

V) Nanite Drones
- shoots one seeker projectile
- hit targets will suffer crew damage over time
- empty ships will be owned by the faction of the next near ship
- kill rate scales, duration scales

VI) Assimilation Array
- only assimilates asteriods
- extrem high range, fire rate and stray shot
- ideal for whole asteroid fields
- only available for the drone

# The drone:
- looks like a small Borg probe ship
- is invincible, has unlimited max speed,
- increased jump and mass scanner range, the range becomes longer if you spawn (exit a craft) closer to the core
- increased loot collection range
- has 1x uncommon mining turret, 1x uncommon borg uncommon cutting beam, 1x common assimilation array (drone can only assimilate regular asteriods), 1x legendary Borg Regeneration beam
- drone turret specs and material scale with the sector
- drone can collect data for the Borg Hacking item
- can create and destroy transwarp gates (see new sysnbols in the upper right screen)
- the destination of transwarp gates can be selected on the galaxy map( left mouse and then exit map)
- It can as well mark a sector as destination for transwarp item


# The Borg system:
I) "Borg Assimilation Control System"
- can be found or puchased
- required for assimilation beam, tractor beam and nanite drones
- higher rarity increases the assimilation efficiency of turrets
- reduces crew requirements and increases crew efficiency
- includes long range teleporter (e.g 60km, rarity dependant) you will still need a teleporter block
*Permanent installation effect:
- adds 3 boarders if you have none
-gives 3 turrets (assimilation, cutting and traktor beam)

II) Borg Alcove B
- reprogramms unemployed "drones" to boarders
- rate scales with rarity

III) Borg Alcove P
- reprogramms unemployed "drones" to pilots
- rate scales with rarity

# The Borg Items:
Note:
* Deleted Borg items will be recovered whenever you relogin to the galaxy.
* If you don't want to start with the items then install the BCA Addon "Vanilla Start".
* Borg items do not deplete on use
I) "Transwarp" item
- create a gate that leads to your respawn sector
- if usedin your respawn sector then it will choose a random target and lead towards the core.
- gate size fits to the ship size from which you use it

II)"Transwarp Hub" item
- arranges all transwarp gates in the sector in one line next to you. Don't fly to the gates, just let them come to you ;)

III) - VI) 4 x "Borg # transformer" items
- transforms your current ship into one of 4 Borg ship types
- Tactical Sphere or Advanced Sphere or Tactical Cube or Assimilation Cube
- same material as previous previous ship with a bit nainite
- bigger ships will result in bigger transformed Borg ships. - Tactical Borg ships have massive armor blocks with high HP and low shields
- Advanced Spheres and Assimilation Cubes are very detailed and have very strong shields.

VII) "Borg Uni Matrix Caller"
- spawns a Borg station that has all mayor factory abilities (ship yard, equipment doc, resource…, …) The design is inspired by the Borg Uni complex Uni Matrix Zero. Can only be used once every 2 hours.

VIII) "Borg Weapons & System Installer Item
- automatically selects Borg turrets and one Borg AC system from your inventory and installs them.
- It will also let you automatically share boarders in between ships.
- ignores material mismatch with you ship
- If you have no Borg system then it will create and install a petty version of the system -petty is better than nothing, but not by much ;)
- equips Borg turrets of BCA-Addons

IX) ”Borg switch drone"using the item
- toggles if you spawn in a Borg drone or in a vanilla drone when you exit a ship.
- default is Borg drone
- Changed setting will be kept even when you reload the same galaxy.

X) "Borg Destroy All ship"
- destroys all your ships (not stations) in the sector that are more than 2 km away from your currently used craft.
- deletes all wrecks in the sector and gives you its value of resources and money
- clears the fleet list of destroyed ships

XI) "Borg Ability Collector" item
- If used with ship: copies station abilities (e. g. buy equipment, refine ...) and saves them to your player
- If used on a station: adds all saved abilities to your current station (One station for all! Create a Unicomplex!)

I like your mod but how do I start with a borg sphere ship ? I cant find the 3 systems you mentioned.

Is it normal for the Borg Assimilation Control System and the Alcove's to regularly drop from ships, not everytime, but a fair amount

how is it possible to change the player drone? I thought it was hard-coded to be impossible to change? at least, I've been unable to find any way to do it and I've seen no other mods that claim to do it. I really just want a way to be able to edit the drones default turrets.

alrighty thxs, i'll check the patch out later, i am working on a protential fun mod setup for l4f2 ment to be very hard yet fun for multiplayer without breaking into the op one way only sort of issues

@General Jame Macheal: I just checked it in the scripts. The limit was 600 km. Now I corrected it to 60 km and it should now work with stations and ships.
The rule is that just everything (except for your target) that has a crew and belongs to the same faction as your target can be a witness. A potential witness needs to be 60 km away from your TARGET (not you) for a secret assimilation. Any other thing e.g. a container or gate is no witness.

lol i was trying to take a station XD, i made sure though nothing was in a radius of 60 km though which was why i think it was odd and bugged

@General Jame Macheal: I will check this on the next occasion. Meanwhile pleasedounle check that also no station is nearby, they also matter for the distance.
