Expanse Rocinante S4 Edition

Description
In celebration of The Expanse Season 4, I present to you the Rocinante sporting the new paint job and cosmetic landing gear and railgun. (landing gear and railgun are cosmetic, however the railgun mod can easily be installed in place of the cosmetic parts)

Based off of my PVP Tachi: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1733539693

This is my survival ready Rocinante, Season 4 Edition from The Expanse TV show, purpose built for PVP as a light fast attack support ship. If you find any issues at all please let me know ASAP and I'll update the blueprint. Also big heads up, there is almost no interior as that was the trade-off for a good PVP ship.

---------------------------- Features ----------------------------

-Survival ready (tested and proven)
-Rotor Turrets (Alysius DDS)
-Fully conveyored turrets (since Connector reload is broken)
-Gravity Drive (GDrive Script)
-Jump Drive
-Self Repair systems
-100% heavy armor
-Survival Kit
-Cryobay
-Printer friendly (print tail-to-nose)

---------------------------- Assembly Instructions ----------------------------

DDS Turrets:

1. Load blueprint into small ship projector
2. Align projection so the bright BLUE blocks touch the subgrid
3. Weld turret from top to bottom direction
4. Remove both auto-placed rotor parts from rotors (NOT the upper ones, see screenshot)
5. Maneuver assembly into position with adv. rotor can attach to the Azimuth Rotor
6. Attach adv rotor part to Azimuth Rotor in control panel
7. Remove RED blocks to separate turret head
8. Push rotor head down to align the rotor parts with the Elevation Rotors
9. Attach rotor part to Elevation Rotor in control panel
10. Remove BLUE blocks to complete.

NOTE: Front Turrets for my Roci/Tachi blueprint need 1 large connector added between the base connector and rotor head to fit.

DDS Missiles:

To print the DDS Missiles in survival, please see my Missile blueprint linked on this page.
1. Access the rotor in the control panel to place a small rotor head
2. Place a projector right on that (try to make it face forward towards the doors.
3. Load up the projector with the DDS Missile Sprue blueprint linked on this page.
4. Adjust the offsets as needed
5. Power up the missile welders and you're good to go.

---------------------------- Description ----------------------------

The rotor turrets can be hot-swapped with vanilla turrets (plus 1 conveyor block underneath) if desired.

It is slightly larger than scale, but visually as true to the source material as I could possibly make it with reasonable compromises. The interior is spartan as it is pretty much a large fighter.

The Rocinante is most effective as a support ship in large engagements, or great as a small scout ship or surprise tactics. The turrets, while capable of dishing out insane amounts of damage, can also be quite fragile despite being 100% heavy armor. The PDCs are extremely good at neutralizing Player Made Weapon missiles, and can cover multiple friendly ships in close proximity.

The gravity drive is capable of bringing the Rocinante to max speed in just a couple seconds which allows the ship to run circles around large ships, or to quickly join and aid friendly ships in need of assistance. It is also able to maintain altitude over Europa.

The 8 Gatling guns per turret were used to stay within the limits of a server I use this in. The welders under the turrets are not the most effective due to the distance away from the fuselage, but they help. They can be much more effective if used with vanilla turrets however.

Please leave any feedback. If you find any errors or issues (other than scripts not working) please let me know.

Credit to Alysius for his incredible work on the DDS script: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1734964925

---------------------------- Known Issues ----------------------------

DDS Connector Reload currently broken, so I've temporarily installed fully conveyored rotor turrets. They don't look as good, but at least they work. I may revise the appearance of them in the future.

yea maybe if I turn off the klang turn thing, and its more I have two turrets on teh same plane a bit apart so if someone is aligned with one of them between the other and the enemy they'll hit

I can't use mods on it cuz I want it to work on servers sadly

Yeah the DDS occlusion checking can be spotty with high rotation speed weapons. Try this mod, it should help prevent that damage https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2427201483

seems to work, problem is they will hit eachother if someone comes in an angle that lines em up lol

Oh creative? Make sure you own everything and recompile the script after pasting it. Ownership can cause those kinds of issues.
Tactical Femboy May 16, 2021 @ 8:49am
even in creative? the desi turrets have ammo, do the PDCs need ammo in creative?
Mike Dude  [author] May 16, 2021 @ 7:50am
make sure the designator turrets have ammo. Its using the latest version of DDS, if that breaks there isn't anything I can do unfortunately since Alysius has retired from SE.

So I downloaded the ship and required scripts verified scripts in the programable computer. They will not move or lock on to anything unless in direct line of site

I can't really help with such little info. There's hundreds of potential things it could be.
