UPDATED 13/10/22

Features

Adds 25 new creatures to the diverse biomes of your Rimworlds, all of them based on mythological and magical creatures from different ancient cultures and sources. Similar to Alpha Animals, the philosophy of this mod is that every new creature tries to bring some new mechanic into the game, whether it be fire breathing cattle, acid and poison spewing behemoth, or faster than average steed. Some of the mechanics are simple, others much more complex.

Animals will spawn with different rates in different biomes, and should appear at about half the rate as vanilla animals (wolves have been taken as a benchmark, not rats).

Bear in mind that spawn probabilities have been calculated with no other animal mods installed. If you have, for example, Vanilla Animals Expanded, less animals from this mod will appear, obviously.

Issues

There shouldn't be any. Balance is obviously always a concern, although it has been playtested. Feel free to tell me if you think something is too wacky.

Wiki

You can see all the details of these creatures in the RimWorld Bestiary Wiki:

Does this mod currently have any achievements? When i open the achievement tab and open this mod, the page is blank.

Okay! Thanks! Both for the fast response, the update, and the reassurance that I'm not going crazy! :) I'm not computer savvy at all and went into the files trying to work out where the patch should be so I'm glad I also wasn't just being blind XD

Well... huh... the patch is just... gone... That's SO weird. I'll remake it for 1.5

Hi!
I saw in the notes for this mod that it's compatible with the gene extraction from Genetics Expanded. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both mods, deleting their folders and forcing Steam to reinstall them, and I still don't see the gene extraction on the mythological animals or their information on other extracted gene lists. I do use other mods, and I've also tried just running these two mods, and no dice. Any ideas please?

Would it be possible to add a slider like Alpha Animals has to adjust the frequency? I understand the 1x idea is for them not to be rare, but it seems many players like them to be rare.

@PearificPear thank for the link.
The Erymanthian Boar is a meat machine that produces about 3x what it eats.

Use this mod if you want to make any tweaks you feel are necessary.

Really love this mod, but one question.
Why do cerberuses breed like rabbits?
