The Somnambulant

Description
This mod adds a new character to the game, the Somnambulant. They dream, and their dreams are the stuff of nightmares.

The Somnambulant has many ways of manipulating their deck, which can change drastically in the course of combat. Cards can be generated and exhausted en masse. It is up to
the player to reshape their decks in beneficial ways. The most common way of changing the deck comes in the form of two special cards, both of which can only be created during combat.
The card 'Dream' will create new cards until your hand is full, all of which cost 0 energy this turn. The class of the cards generated depends on the intent of the enemy you are dreaming about: an attacking enemy will provide you with Ironclad cards, a buffing enemy with Defect cards, and a debuffing enemy with Silent cards. Dreams are powerful, but, since they are generated in your discard pile, will often take a while to get drawn.
The card 'Nightmare' does very little on its own. It is practically a curse, allowing you to apply 1 measly poison to an enemy, for the ungainly cost of 1 energy. They stay in your hand at the end of your turn, so at least you only have to draw them once. However, fill up your hand with too many Nightmares and there'll be little space for those Dreams to pay off. Mostly, Nightmares are a drawback to an otherwise powerful effect. There are cards, however, that let you benefit from those Nightmares in your hand.

The rest is up to you to discover.

This mod currently contains:
- 75 new cards
- 7 relics exclusive to the Somnambulant, including 2 new boss relics
- 1 potion exclusive to the Somnambulant

This mod is interesting and glad to see this mod still updating. And the latest updating sounds like making this mod a new mod, can't wait to try:dglove:

very weird character to wrap your head around, but once you get an exhaust chain going with certain relics he becomes a monster. Lots of fun!

Please remove one Strike and one Defend from your starting deck
Hush needs to add an Auto-Play keyword, so runners understand it
Turn one tends to suck. Does this deck have an innate block card?

Cons:
-a little too incentivized to keep decks small because of the RNG of when you finally draw your generated dreams. Maybe put Dreams on the bottom of your draw pile? Or add them to your hand automatically after X turns, kind of like Miracle?

-the random cards staying in your deck doesn't feel very flavorful. Maybe change Dreams to a 'choose 4' type effect, where you get to choose 4 options from among a bunch of options like "deal 10 to all enemies', 'apply 14 poison randomly', "gain 10 block per enemy in combat" kind of thing. it would retain enuogh agency/to feel fresh, but not quite as much, and would be more consistent. you could also vary the amount of RNG by upping/lowering the amount of options.

-Nightmares are a little boring, maybe have them do something a little better so the tradeoff of "do i play this or keep it in my hand until i draw my nightmare cards" is more of a hard choice?

Probably the best "resource management" deck.

Pros:
-the resource payoff for Dream is fun

- the RNG keeps it fresh.

-The way Nightmares work (retain, so they have a downside, but also stick around until you can draw your "Do stuff based on Nightmares in your hand" cards) feels balanced

I've been coming back to this one recently and it still holds up! I appreciate the unique approach to gameplay you incorporated. Made a nightmare deck and it made it all the way up to time eater, I was impressed! Only got boned because Pandora's Box made the deck a bit wonky.

Lucidity build is FUN.

Lucidity was my random rare card from Neow, so I built around it, and I got a few relics and some cards that lean into the dream archetype on top of that, so as long as I survived the first three turns I could go sicko mode on the enemies. The RNG really aligned for me. I had the Happy Flower relic and Light Sleeper, so occasionally I got to cast dream, dump out the cards, and dream again! Between strength-gaining and strength payoff effects from red cards and getting strength from the Broken Timepiece relic, I even managed to beat Time Eater, to my surprise.

All that said I've only won 3 of 18. He's feast or famine, once you get Dream out he's off to the races but otherwise he's challenging.

To balance, you could make the Dream deal out one less card but that's not very elegant. I think Dream when played should have some negative effect as well. Like shuffle some bad status cards into your draw pile.
