Project Eden Test Scenario - Alpha 9.7 (Obsolete)

Description
UPDATE:
With the coming release of Empyrion Alpha 10 in a few days, I'm marking this version as obsolete. You can find the new version for Alpha 10 here.

* * *

This is an unstable, untested test scenario for several work-in-progress playfields from my upcoming scenario Project Eden. This scenario significantly changes the speed you progress through the mid and end game, slowing it down greatly as you'll need to explore the solar system to find resources.

This is for Alpha 9.7. For the alpha 10 version, see here.

This scenario generates a new random solar system with both default and new custom planets and moons on game start using a custom solar system config. Generates about 70 planets and 280 playfields on average.

The new planets and POIs are unfinished and are presented as a preview or for testing. You might encounter problems using this scenario, including save game breaking bugs. If you do encounter a problem, please leave a comment so I know about it but I can't guarantee this scenario will be updated with any fixes.

These new planets are spawned throughout the solar system. You can play this scenario just like any standard survival game, but you'll encounter the new types of planets as you explore along with all the default planets. They aren't balanced yet and have lower ore deposits than normal due to how my scenario will eventually be set up.

Important info if hosting a multiplayer game:
There is currently a bug that prevents random scenarios from starting a new game on dedicated or coop servers in alpha 9.7. This is fixed in alpha 10.

Possible workaround for coop:
Start the game as single player. Then quit the game and resume the save game as coop. (Tested it but please let me know if this works for you).

Possible workaround for dedicated or coop:
Copy the scenario to your server like normal. Then before starting the server, copy the playfields from the scenario's playfields folder into your server's main playfields folder. Then start the server. (Please let me know if this works for dedicated servers).

Tips for navigating the larger sector map:

- Use the toggles found along the top of the map. Don't be afraid to toggle between 2D and 3D views as needed.
- Click on a planet or moon in the sector map when "planet info" is toggled to view info on the selected planet or moon.
- Hold down right click and use your standard WASD/ascend/descend movement keys to fly around the sector map and view it from different angles.
- Ctrl-Leftclick on a planet to view only the warp lanes directly connected to that planet.
- Ctrl-Rightclick on a planet to lock it as your warp destination.
- Plot a route through the sector map by left clicking on a planet to set it as the origin, then Ctrl-Alt-RightClick on a different planet to set it as your destination and show the path between them.
- I have tried to tidy up the sector map generation as best I can, but sometimes planets or asteroid fields will spawn very close to each other. Hopefully these tips aid in navigating the much larger sector map.

Alpha 10 is scheduled to be released in a few days so I'll be marking this version as obsolete but leaving it up in case anyone needs the alpha 9.7 version for whatever reason.

You can get the alpha 10 version of this scenario at:

@BigRowdy I'm planning on adding about a dozen starting planets eventually, ranging from very easy to very hard. :D

looking forward to this...hope you make a hardcore survival option.

You have to warp to other planets to discover them, or use the console command "sectors reveal' to reveal them all (I believe "sectors hide" will hide them again).

Alpha 10 should be going on the experimental branch tomorrow.

I'll be updating for alpha 10 and uploading it as a new scenario later this week and keeping this version here for those who remain on alpha 9.7.

Just did an update that mostly adds a few more space POIs.

This will probably be the last update until Alpha 10 goes on the experimental branch which might be as soon as this coming Monday! As soon as it does I'll be updating this scenario to A10.

For anyone having troubles with COOP servers, the devs are aware:

"Oke, Seems to work when you use direct IP and Port. Doesnt seem to work when u use the friends tab or steam join.

Will be fixed tomorrow with high prio"
