This will probably be the last update until Alpha 10 experimental.


Update Ice Giant Planet:
- Added alien ship wrecks buried very deep under the ice.
- Small updates to the Deep Core Mining Facility. Still under construction.
Planet still very much a work in progress.


New Alien Moon:
- Very dark and creepy, with strange green rifts and some small caves. Can be found orbiting some Alien and Dead planets.


New space POIs:

- Added Data Caches to some outer orbits:
Hacking sites. Solve the puzzle to unlock the loot.
Failure will result in loss of loot.
Has directions on the outside.
Custom loot is holographic screens that are normally not obtainable by the player.
Screens are meant to represent data pads of some kind and can be sold to UCH Research Ships that are found in the middle solar system.

- Added "Unknown Signal" POIs to inner and outer solar orbits. Leads players to hacking sites or derelict ships.

- Added UCH Research Ships to some middle orbits:
Admin bases. Buys the holographic screens that you get from Data Caches.

- Added Polaris Industrial Farms to some middle orbits:
Buys large amounts of farming supplies and sells large amounts of basic farming outputs like fruit and plant protein.

- Renamed "Factory" to "Refinery".

New Planets:

- Ice Giant:
Prototype planet. Work in progress.
Has same orbit and moons as Gas Giants.


New Moons:

- Volcanic:
Harsh uninhabited moon inspired by Jupiter's moon Io. Can be found around Gas or Ice Giants and Plasma planets.

- Eerie:
Dark and creepy. Sometimes has highly radioactive lakes with large amounts of Pentaxid. Modified version of Tellrog's TheDeep planet. Can sometimes be found around Alien planets. Rare.

- New variations of Barren Moons:
Iron Rich version, with large iron deposits.
Sandy version, with a lot of small silicon deposits and silicon mines you can trade with or raid.

- Added Polaris PentaCorp trade outposts to some Barren Moons.
Buys and sells raw Pentaxid.

- Added Polaris Research Crawlers to some Sandy Barren Moons and to Ice Giants.
Buys biological research items, such as alien organisms, xeno substrate, alien parts, etc.

- Tweaked solar system generation.

Major Update

New Planets:

- Added new planets from Monroe's Planet Pack https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1717457072
Pummeled Desert, Brooding Temperate, and Odd Temperate will sometimes be found in the middle or inner solar system.
Frozen Inferno and Elder Barren will be found in the outer solar system.
Uses mostly default POIs for now.

- Added Gas Giants to outer solar system. Designed by Needleship.
Non-landable, but has an orbit with extra asteroid fields.


Updated Planets:

- Jungle:
POIs, Biomes, and traders.
Hidden treasures and ruins, some with custom loot, can be found in the jungle. Very hard to find, hidden from detector and only shows on HUD within 50 meters.
Profitable trade route added: Talon Beekeepers > Talon Brewery > Zirax Karana Trade Station.

- Lava:
Added traders to Foundry. Trader who buys iron ingots and sells steel and hardened steel plates.
Renamed lava POIs to remove reference to Rados.


Space Content

- Added a chance for small lightly defended Polaris Mining Fleets to appear in orbits in middle solar system.
- Added rare heavily defended Polaris Mining Fleets to outer Asteroid Fields.
Polaris Mining Fleets have ownership over nearby asteroids and will attack you if you mine them. They have a custom trader who sells large quantities of ore but not at the best price. Sometimes has a hauler on site you can raid.
Shows up on map at 25,000 meters.

- Added Refinery. Buys large quantities of ore and sells large quantities of ingots, but not at the best price. Randomly appears in orbits.
Shows up on map at 25,000 meters as "Factory".
Will add more bulk traders and create profitable trade routes in the future.

- Added a new Smuggler and Syndicate outpost to orbits.
- Misc updates to pirate POIs and space playfields.

- Tweaked solar system generation to account for the new planets.

Huge thanks to all the Workshop contributors for the ships used in the mining fleet. Added them to the credits in the Project Eden guide.


Known Issues:

- Standing next to a trader can cause error spam in the log (alpha 9.7). Doesn't seem to actually affect anything. Game bug, filed a bug report.
- Multiplayer servers cannot start a new game. See main description for workaround. Game bug, filed a bug report.

Slightly increased size scaling of solar system to make it slightly larger and hopefully prevent more planets spawning too close.

-Updated custom orbital POIs. Adjusted spawners and loot.
-Updated orbital wrecks. Added core to all of them so you can salvage them and fixed the "signal hash" console error.
-Added Hackable Object to outer solar system orbits. You have to solve a simple puzzle to access the loot inside.
-Added Infested Hideout to inner solar system orbits.
-Reduced amount of wreckage in orbits.

Requires a new game start to take effect.

Major Update


This scenario will take a few minutes to load on first game start or when connecting to a server.

This update makes a lot of changes. I've done my best to test everything multiple times but there's bound to be some issues that slip through. Please let me know if you have any issues with things like the scenario not loading, planets being laggy, etc. As always, this is still a work in progress.

The increased size of the solar system means more Pentaxid will be needed to explore. I've tried to add some new sources of Pentaxid and have plans to add more, but if you feel stuck don't be afraid to itemmenu yourself some extra.


New Solar System Generation:

- Greatly increased physical size of the solar system and number of planets generated.
- Uses new random config to group planets together by distance from the sun.
- Solar system is now broken up into 3 main parts: inner, middle, and outer. Zascosium can be found in the inner solar system and Erestrum in the outer. Default planets aren't updated with these changes yet.
- Planet and moons aren't too varied yet. Default planet templates will be mostly replaced by custom ones as I add more.
- I've tried to compensate for the messy random generator.
- Generates about 70 planets and 280 playfields.
- I updated the main description with tips on navigating the new larger sector map.It's not too bad once you get the hang of it. Best we can do until the devs improve it.


New Planets:

- Black Desert: A hot, dry desert with good sources of Pentaxid and home of the powerful and ancient VOID faction thought to be the creators of the Rogue Drones. Will add storyline elements to this planet in the future. Found in the inner solar system.
- Irradiated: A temperate planet that was hit by a powerful blast of radiation. Lots of ruins. Found in the middle or inner solar system.
- Jungle: A dangerous planet covered in thick jungle and rainforests. Heavy work in progress with not many custom POIs or creature spawning yet. Found in the inner or middle solar system.
- Midnight: An almost pitch black ultra difficulty planet. High gravity, absurd atmospheric density, no visibility even during the day, and massive deposits of gold. Can be found near the sun. Don't go there.
- New planets have less ore variety and smaller deposits on average than the default planets for now, but the default planets will be updated eventually so everything will be balanced with each other.

New Moons:

- Cobalt Rich Barren Moon: Has good deposits of cobalt. Cobalt can also sometimes be mined out of the crater walls. Can be found everywhere.
- New Ice Moons: 5 new variations of Ice moons, mostly found in the outer solar system. Good sources of Pentaxid, with some having very deep but easy to mine out deposits. No custom POIs yet, plan on adding some crashed ships buried deep under the ice that are hard to find and some listening posts or mining operations.
- Methane Moon: Cold moon with methane oceans (or at least as close as we can get in Empyrion). One of the few custom planets or moons with both Sathium and Neodymium deposits, but you'll have to fight the Zirax for them. Can be found in the outer solar system. Inspired by Saturn's moon Titan.

New Space Orbits

- Added 3 new experimental orbits, one for each area of the solar system (inner, middle, and outer).
- Contains a huge amount of random wreckage, and some smuggler's stashes, hideouts, and a few pirate outposts. Some have admin cores with custom loot as Pentaxid or money cards. Some are trapped!
- Has a small chance to contain an extra asteroid field which contains some basic ore asteroids in it and is guarded by Zirax sentry turrets.
- All orbits now have small Pentaxid asteroids, sometimes guarded by sentry turrets. Large Pentaxid asteroids have been removed (they will come back as heavily defended Zirax mining stations).
- Very much a work in progress. Plans are to add a bunch of wrecks, everything from small bits of debris to full sized derelict stations, "unknown signal" beacons, space station compounds, etc.
- Currently all 3 orbits are mostly the same difficulty wise, but there will be significant differences between the 3 areas of the solar system eventually.

Modified Asteroid Fields
- Added Zirax Heavy Ore Freighters. Hauls a specific kind of ore and should be challenging to take out.
- Increased number and patrol ranges of space drones and Zirax orbital patrols.

- Skyboxes, music, radiation and temperature of orbits and asteroid fields now change depending on how far you are from the sun (inner, middle, or outer solar system).

- Finished Ancient Tomb POI on the Desert Oasis planet. Go claim your riches!

The bigger solar system and slower progression may not be for everyone but it is one of the core changes in this scenario. It's meant to slow down the mid and end game and reward exploration instead of being able to find everything you need within 1-2 warps of your starter planet. Pentaxid especially is going to be a tough one to balance for a solar system as large as this, but the goal is to add a variety of ways to obtain it through mining, salvaging, raiding, or trading so that no matter your preferred playstyle, you'll be able to find a decent amount of Pentaxid.

Updated Lava planets:
- Added new Rados Foundry, Service Platform, and Cargo Pad POIs to Lava Lakes. The Foundry is a unique POI that requires you to find 4 switches throughout the facility before you can initiate a core self destruct.

Updated Desert Oasis planet:
- Fixed offset of Water Hole Auxiliary POI. Shouldn't be buried under sand now. I hope.
- Updated work-in-progress Abandoned Tomb. More rooms added. Still half finished. Admin cored dungeon that requires solving puzzles and dealing with traps and enemies to progress.
- Updated Talon Sunpriest and Talon Moonpriest traders. They now give flavor text referencing the Abandoned Tomb and ask you to retrieve Ancient Relics from the tomb for a money reward. (wip)

Updated Ice planet:
- Updated textures, mountain height, and Cobalt deposits.
- Added floating Advanced Mining Platform Zirax POIs drilling into large Cobalt deposits. Should be a nice challenge for a nice reward, if Cobalt is what you're after.
- Added a chance for a Polaris industrial POI complex to spawn on the very tops of mountains. Won't appear on every seed. Might add custom POIs for this eventually.

Added Plasma planet:
- Ultra difficulty promethium rich planet.
- High gravity, high radiation, high temperature.
- Has several custom Rados and Abyssal POIs.
- The Promethium Refinery is an old POI that is currently a placeholder. Will create a proper Rados Promethium Refinery POI in the future.
- Has many "terrain" POIs.
- Very experimental planet. May be laggy.
- Spawns far away from the sun.
- Previously had an AI bug. I think I fixed it but if you get a "Continue or Quit" error loop, try opening the console and typing "ai off" so it stops and allows you to leave the planet. Type "ai on" to re-enable the AI. Please let me know if you encounter this nasty bug.

- Reduced Arid planets from 2-4 to 2-3.

Update requires a new game start to take effect.
