Description

A simple roof building mod to help secure your base.

The roof panels can be accessed to dismantle, but only from inside the base.

-To build a roof you'll need 10 planks and 30 nails.
-A wooden pillar requires 1 log and 10 nails.

You will currently get all those resources back if you dismantle the item.

I've also included a step ladder in the mod to help with roof construction, the ladders will spawn in industrial areas, but they currently cannot be crafted to prevent raiding abuse.

SNAPPING

Press B while holding a kit to toggle snap mode.
Press F to cycle through the snap points.
Press K to focus on an object.

IMPORTANT

This is now just a roof mod as it was originally intended!! The other base parts have been moved to a new mod called Simple Base. Only roofs and pillars can be crafted. If you want to craft walls, floors, windows and doors, use the new mod:

SERVER OWNER INSTRUCTIONS

1. Copy the @Simple Roof folder from !Workshop to your DayZServer root folder.
2. Copy ChopperRoof.bikey file from the keys folder to your keys folder.
3. Add "-mod=@Simple Roof" to your server startup parameters.
4. Merge types.xml (located in mpmissions\dayzOffline.chernarusplus\db) with the file provided.
5. OPTIONAL: Merge TraderConfig.txt (located in YOURSERVERPROFILE\Trader) with the file provided.

RECENT CHANGES

New: Look-to-snap feature. Snapping is now auto-enabled. Just look to snap and use F to cycle snap points.
New: K now locks the snapping target to the object you are currently looking at.
Fixed: 1.13 issue with digging gardenplots.
Fixed: Removed ability to climb onto roof.
Fixed: Step ladder collision fixed.
Fixed: Null pointers fixed. Thanks to Krypton91.
DayZ 1.13 compatible.

Hey i found that the hologram has collision, is there a way to disable that? very exploitable if players place holograms and use it as a bridge to access areas with out having to build the roof

not sure if its incompatibility to other mods, but the post in this mod specifically is causing some null pointer to instance errors now. maybe can have permission to edit and repack this?

I installed 5 of the roofs yesterday logged in this morning and all but 1 had disappeared. I guess the question to ask is, is this compatible with 1.14? As with BBB's comment below I had the same issues and found it very difficult to snap the roof to the spot I wanted to attach it to. Does anyone know if Chopper is still updating this mod?

this mod is any BUT simple to use, it fails to locate in the position you chose as each time you get anywhere close to the spot you want it, it disappears and you find it floating miles above the spot you want it.

I used this mod a couple of years ago and it was so much easier to locate, but now someone's fix has made it something that brings you to the point of rage quitting. I have tried to install it above my head and also from above standing over the gap I want to close up, neither gives you an accurate idea of where it's going to be when it snaps in as when it does it's always out of the alignment you chose.

we have the problem that the roof is dismantable from outside. Idk if this is a common problem or just for us. would be fine if you can contact me.

Thanks, is it possible to add a separate type for a metal roof so that i can use alternative breaching charges for them? :)
