The Beaked

Description
Adds a new character to the game, complete with 75+ cards, 10+ relics, 2 new potions, and a new Elite encounter - with some of these (optionally) being available to all characters. Gain power using your rituals and healing abilities, and crush your foes with devastating Wither cards!

***Now supports the Googly Eyes mod!

Who is the Beaked?
The Beaked was blessed by the cult of the Awakened One, then cursed for stealing sacred knowledge. This cultist relies on healing and familiar techniques to power through, resorting to potent but hard to replicate spells.

Ritualistic Healing
Like the cultists you've encountered before, the Beaked can perform Rituals to gain Strength over time. The Beaked has low max HP and fewer Block cards than usual, so you can't survive indefinitely while building up power. Instead, survivability comes from the Mending Plumage starter relic, which heals 1 HP whenever you play a card. Stay active to stay alive!

Wither Away
The Beaked has stolen forbidden knowledge of incredibly powerful abilities... but doesn't know enough to use them without consequences. Wither cards have massive, game-changing effects when first acquired, but slowly become weaker with each use. Taking some time to recharge at a campfire can restore your Wither cards to their original glory.

Configuration and Customization
From the game's main menu, select the Mods option to configure the Beaked to your liking. Of note, you can change your costume color, choose how your Ceremony cards are handled in custom modes, and modify your starter deck to be a bit... crazier :)

Ongoing Development
Of course, balance is an ongoing process, so expect many things to change over time. On that note, please let us know if you have any feedback on the mod or happen to find any bugs!

I never got the hang of this character, but he's great. Had several fun runs, despite my own inability to play as well as some others. Thank you for not using AI nonsense.

pretty much everything Opdi has already said, some cards are QUITE over-tuned like awakened form. the relic healing you per card played is pretty nuts, and that's without the flower relic that gives you double the hp per card. or just picking up spinning top with awakened form and bam an infinite card build with one card and a relic. regardless this is one of the most fun modded characters I've ever played.

Health pool is too freakin low and there are too few defensive cards.
Some enemies can one shot you, no matter how many times you can heal.

You should really use AI to generate art for your cards, it is SO CONFUSING to use the same art as other cards.

Really fun, one of my favorite character mods. Starting relic might be a little too strong, and it strongly encourages degenerate/stall tactics which is my biggest biggest criticism of this mod. Being able to consistently heal to full in any hallway fight can trivialize act 1 a bit too easily and it allows me to thoughtlessly take big risks even on high ascension. A cap on healing per fight would probably be a good if boring solution.

Also, awakened form is insanely busted and definitely needs a nerf, finding this card while having the energy to get it out and some decent card draw is almost always enough to guarantee a win in my experience

Mod config does not save the settings relating to costume color and disabling the custom Act 3 boss which is a shame since I like keeping my main game bosses and elites as vanilla as possible.
