Cologne 1945

Throughout the Second World War, Cologne had received 262 aerial raids by Allied air forces and 135,000 of its citizens were dead. The Anglo-Americans in the attempt, added the demolition of 43 aircraft. After years of aerial battles and bombards, the Allies on the mainland met in front of the city in March 1945. With the so-called "Operation Lumberjack", the final Battle of Cologne would take place. Allies have arrived in Cologne but have found strong resistance from the German troops, which prevent them from dodging the other side of the Rhine
