Tried X8... It ran slow as hell... Then I played X5, which I've played before... It was just as slow.
This is unplayable. Even on a great computer.

Get Collection 1. It's actually playable & has the best X games. Don't spend your money on Collection 2 unless they decide to fix it.

I often feel regret spending money on video games. Doesn't feel that way with this game.
Cool effects, cool music... it really does feel like some kind of meditative experience like people in the reviews say. Less than 3 hrs in, but I look forward to playing it a lot over the next year.

Only downside is, sometimes I'm just getting into a song, but I clear the stage too quick and the song changes, but I haven't looked through all the settings/modes yet, to see if there's a way to avoid this.

I don't get the hype.
Thought I might like it because I liked HOMM 2-4, Disciples 2, and some RTS games.
I tried it for over 3 hours and had no fun

Didn't find it fun at all.

Tired of games getting new requirements to play after you buy them.

Far as I can remember, I had to go through the menus w/ mouse/keyboard, and then I could actually race w/ a controller, which was annoying, but the game is fun as hell.
You can feel yourself getting better as you play.

Not sure if people are experiencing issues recently... But for $8, it's a fun game once you get the hang of the combat system... It just gets frustrating when you don't know where to go to advance the story or unlock new stages. I found it more fun than the first FFXIII.
Again, I haven't played it in at least 1.5 yrs, so make sure to check and see if there are recent issues.

Played 2 & 3 on Xbox w/ a controller. Horrible experience. I've only played this one w/ mouse/keyboard. On certain games, mouse & keyboard vs controller makes a big difference.
It's a fun journey though. For being a 2004 game originally, it has a ton of content.
Really wish they didn't change the UI on the updated version, but what can you do?

Would be an amazing game if it wasn't for one major downside. Your turn might be very short, and when you click end turn, it takes too long for the computer players to take their turns.
You spend more time watching the computer take it's turns than you actually play, as far as moving on the map.
I only play it for a bit nostalgia by using the cheat to fill my move points once they run out. Can't play it any other way.

Fun combat. Surprising amount of content. Something new to see/do in every playthrough up until the 60hr mark.
For reference, some of my favorite are:
FF6-FF10, FF12, Diablo 2, Star Ocean Second Story, HOMM 2-4.
DIdn't expect to like this game, but it was well worth the money.
