Not a very good remaster.

As for the game itself, it is quite fun. A lot of the RPG mechanics just aren't very interesting but the combat is decently fun, with you being able to use melee, archery, and magic all at the same time. But everything about teh game is super fast paced and exciting.

I'd recommend it if you can get it cheap. The second game, as far as I can remember, is much better, but not available on PC.

Another game I wish I could give a neutral review for. One of my favorite games from my teenage years, I played the hell out of this back in the day... that being said, I booted this up out of boredom and nostalgia reasons. The pc port does not connect to a controller, which I would rather use to play with given as the controls are a bit meh with mouse and keyboard. The game does not run in full screen at all and for whatever reason during the cut scenes there are two black bars going through the screen. Sure having this for nostalgia reasons alone can be satisfying however if you still own your og xbox and physical copy of the game, do yourselves a favor and stick to using that vs the pc port.

With all the talk of the new fable I thought I would go back to play this, I got it for the xbox when it came out but is was buggy crashed and froze so I gave up. I only had one freeze with this the whole time and that was only when leaving the game. I understand now why people who loved the first game didn't like two and three it is closer to a normal RPG the sequels did simplify things but I think for the better, Plus the second game which I consider the best has a lot more content, It's definitely worth playing if you have only played the others but if you haven't played any I would choose the second one. Almost forgot you will need to edit a text file if your playing with a mouse it's the only way to adjust mouse sensitivity.
