I fired a missile into a building to which my opponents responded, "Why are you doing this? There are women and children in that building!" 10/10 I'm going to go cry myself to sleep

Really great way to play the Halo games for the first time or return to beloved games from your childhood. Both the original and remastered graphics are available for each game prior to 4, so whether you are looking for a nostalgia hit or a great looking fps this has got you covered.

Very hard, very stressful. I wont fault it for that though because that is the point. I keep getting frustrated yet I keep coming back. Hilarious concept, great execution and a bit too real sometimes.

Great game but made me question the fragile layer of civility that separates humanity from our primitive ancestors. I have literally caught myself bearing my teeth and snarling menacingly while playing this game. 8/10 is humanity really ready for civilization?

I really wanted to like this game and to a point I do. The world is interesting and I find myself genuinely interested in the story and Characters. But everything in between the major plot points is just... boring. The minor character interactions range from amusing/ interesting to downright annoying. The occasional jokes while good for reliving the tension are mostly terrible, like not so bad they're good terrible just... not funny. Finally the combat, oh lord the combat, by far the main reason I can't recommend this game. It feels like they kept adding mechanics, realised it still wasn't fun so their solution was to add more mechanics. 34hrs. into the game I am still receiving combat tutorials. At first I thought that it was just a bit complicated and once I got the hang of it, it would be fun. I was wrong, after many times reading and re-reading the tutorials trying out new tactics, adjusting the difficulty in both directions, carefully planning out my equipment the combat is still terrible and given that the gameplay is split into about 20% dialog/ cutscenes, 40% travel/ exploration and 40% combat the fact that the combat is insufferable is a HUGE issue. I would love to recommend this game, like I said the story is pretty good and I will probably keep playing it on occasion just to find out what happens. However, given how many amazing JRPG's are on the market today I simply cannot recommend you buy this one over the other options.

I think there is a right and a wrong way to play magicmaker. Because of the nature of the game it is very easy to find a few spells that work and then just spam those for the entire game, upgrading them as you go along. This is... fine and it certainly can be fun but the real way to play the game is by constantly experimenting with new spells. Some of the best spells I've made use weird combinations that you wouldn't think would work but they just do. The way the mechanics combine in interesting ways is the real fun of the game. Honestly I see the actual combat as the least engaging part of the game, it's more of a testing ground where you see how your spells work in the real world. The true game is in theory crafting and looking for the materials you need to create that one spell you've had an idea for and then seeing that idea come to fruition. I'm sure you could enjoy it as a combat game but this is the way I played it and I immensely enjoyed it.

To be fair I played this game for less that two hours and likely would have continued if not for steams 2hr. limit on refunds. My friend really liked it after all the updates so I figured I'd give it a try. Unfortunately many of the old issues are alive and well. Everything feels kinda Samey. From what my friend says it gets better over time but personally even with getting it for $30, there is many far better games I could buy for that price.
