Secrets of Gloomrot is amazing, i was enjoying the whole thing through and through
But then i arrived at the new final boss, and he is absolute garbage

Still an amazing update tho a shame the last boss couldnt hold up

I think my only real complaint so far is that nighttime is not scary at all

11 hours in and ive seen 3 volatiles, and they were only in cutscences!!!
Im sorry techland but howlers and chases arent scary. You can just go for a casual stoll at night and it wouldnt be much different from doing it during the day

Other than that, sometimes the parkour can be a bit awkward but overall its a great experience, i recommend it

I like act 2 but ♥♥♥♥ sentries man
They've single handedly ruined the cyber grind. The ferryman and idols are fine but ♥♥♥♥ sentries. At higher rounds like 5-7 of them can spawn in and alot of maps just dont have enough cover to hide behind when you have to take a moment to kill the 5 mind flayers that are pegging you at the same time. My record is wave 43 and before the update i was pretty reliably getting to wave 35-40~ but now at those waves you get assaulted by 10 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sentries that just aimbot you and you dont have enough time to shoot all with the revolver and also not enough dashes to dodge all. Also ground slamming them to interupt is really unreliable too, ive had multiple times where i ground slam one but he just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tanks it and kills me anyway

Im very mixed about this dlc because it has its ups and downs

I just finished it and i thought all the levels were awesome but nothing outstanding. I played it on nightmare and i didnt die once, eventhough they said that this dlc was gonna be even harder than dlc 1 which it very much isnt. But the real ♥♥♥♥♥♥ part start with the final boss.

The Dark Lord is of course the last boss that was gonna be super epic and awesome to fight. WRONG. He sucks really hard and im sad that he does. First of all he is really confusing to figure out and there isnt a tutorial. Before you start saying git gud, he wasnt hard (i didnt die to him) he was just really inconsistent and confusing. He is esentially like a giant marauder that is way more confusing, and for the record i love marauders. Basically youre supposed to bait out his attack (i think, theres no tutorial) and then shoot him when his eyes are green, and use the hammer if you can. But i was stuck for about 30 minutes in the second phase (out of 5 total phases) just trying to get him to do that attack so that i could actually deal damage. Then i found out that you have to stand close for him to have a chance to do his attack. I say chance because he has 2 other attacks that you cant attack him during. And to rub even more salt into the wound he heals everytime he hits you. So i would try to bait out his attack and then when he did it i got him down to about half HP. But then when i try to bait it out again he just does his other attacks for like 10 minutes straight and heals to full hp, one attack is a shield ram that is also almost impossible to dodge (even with 2 dashes or meathooking away). Oh but im not even done yet, sometimes he doesnt even falter when doing his attack that youre supposed to attack him during. So sometimes he would do that attack and then not falter and heal to full HP because of it.

Im not gonna recommend this dlc just because of this boss fight. Its not hard as in its easy to die, its just hard because it really poorly designed. The other levels are good and i wasnt really bothered by anything in them, but theyre not outstanding so im gonna leave this review as negative.
