At first, I was very skeptical about playing this game because I knew I wouldn't get to see the characters that I love from the movies and I thought it wouldn't feel like Star Wars. But, boy, was I wrong!

I could praise this game for hours, but I think that the writing is really what elevates the experience to a whole new level. The story is pretty straightforward, but the companions that accompany you in your journey are some of the most interesting characters I have seen in a video game. The side quests are surprisingly deep and contribute to Bioware's exceptional worldbuilding. I have come to enjoy even the sometimes archaic gameplay and the combat, whose tactical level enables you to appreciate that this is a thinking man's game which doesn't require superhuman reflexes.

I urge you to go and play the game right now before you are spoiled as I was! But even if I knew where the story ends up, I was still immersed in this world and I couldn't wait to see what was around the corner. This game piqued my interest in this era of Star Wars and managed to make me want to play its sequel and other Bioware games. It is no longer canon, but the story is executed so well that it surpasses many of the movies and the characters in this game have become some of my favourites in all of Star Wars.

In my opinion, this game holds up even after so many years and is essential to experience for any fan of Star Wars or of good stories.
