I have always appreciated a certain epicness in this universe that even spills out of the screen and speakers. The soundtrack from the very first installment created by Bungie Software has stood at such a high level that I fully understand why 343 Industries sticks to certain tracks so tightly. Praise them for that, because the music can still make you creep and even in a standard fire exchange with opponents it can do something special.

The soundtrack is not the only thing about Halo Infinite that is reminiscent of the previous parts. The creators took care of a few novelties , but in fact they prepared the "best of" themes characteristic of this series. So if you've been through the Master Chief's previous adventures, you more or less know exactly what to expect - the shooting feeling is the same, as is the atmosphere, vehicles, etc.

However, it should be noted that the new version is not as linear as Halo 5: Guardians. The studio partially gave up the usual pattern of jumping from mission to mission, but decided to implement an open world straight from the Far Cry series into its work .
Especially since open world is quite…typical.
This means that the main character can now conquer outposts controlled by opponents, destroy their valuable infrastructure, hunt for special soldiers and collect various types of collectibles. Fortunately, the producer was aware that fans of the previous games could turn their noses at this gameplay character, so all side activities are not necessary to complete the game.

So if you wanted to experience Halo Infinite like its predecessors, there is nothing to prevent you from starting the main missions right away, without making unnecessary stops . This is due to, inter alia, the fact that in this game there is no scaling of the opponents' level, we do not improve the weapons, so from the very beginning of the game, we know what we are dealing with and the game can be completed with the help of basic equipment . In the open world, it is only worth collecting spartan cores, because they are used to improve the parameters of Master Chief's gadgets, and these can quite strongly affect the course of the clashes.

I am happy with what the 343 Industries studio has prepared, although I'm afraid that the next installment will require even greater expansion of the open world so that it is not painfully generic. The graphics in Halo Infinite are at best correct - sure, some views are breathtaking by default, but for balance we also get angular and ugly textures and general blandness. Production gains significantly when we are in closed rooms that are perfectly pimped.

I don't need to write too much about the multiplayer mode, because for a few weeks now, everyone who is interested can test it for free. The studio decided that the multiplayer games are constantly switching to free to play mode , which is quite a reasonable solution. Not everyone wants to waste time on campaigns when they prefer to spend their free time competing with other players. Especially that the multi, as usual, does not disappoint - it is fast, effective and fair. The creators gave users two modes - Big Team Battle for 24 people and Arena for teams of four.

Halo Infinite is not an outstanding game, but it is a reliable shooter , which was designed in such a way as to attract new players, and at the same time ensure the joy of fans of the series. Studio 343 Industries has taken a bold step by abandoning linearity, but it certainly hasn't got the best of it. It is a pity that we lost the ability to jump on different planets due to the open world, but the locations prepared by the developers were still attractive enough. If you are shooter fans, you cannot miss this title.

Pros.
+ Pretty as hell.
+ The shooting feels really good.
+ Lots of fun weapons.
+ Master Chief's diverse special abilities.
+ An open game world is a great idea.

Contains a lot of new and bold, but also old and familiar that could have been renewed even more. The experience is still entertaining and good.

Cons.
- The content of the open world repeats itself.
- Task planning also relies on a couple of standard ladders too.
- Boss fights are frustrating at times.
- Wonderful stinginess with ammunition.

Thanks to the openness of the world, the gameplay has significantly extended compared to the previous parts.
I raise my hat for the development team to have the courage to try out a new idea in the form of an open game world. It revamps the game nicely and especially during the early hours it feels like a really amazing experience. But at the same time, the feeling of repetition is hard to avoid.
As a whole, the game is clearly on the winning side purely because playing Halo is still fun. The most important thing in the shooter game is that the shooter feels good and Halo succeeds in that.

9.3/10
