Bloody brilliant classic for all sci-fi space sim fans.
Amazing atmosphere. Even Mass Effect series got inspired by these games.
Freespace 1 and Freespace 2, 24 years old games remain to be the top games of the space sim genre.

Game UI is quite unfriendly, if it weren't for the YouTube tutorials, I wouldn't know ♥♥♥♥ how to control the bloody thing. The worst part are the frustrating controls. They work like absolute ♥♥♥♥, it's almost impossible to control it with a mouse. I cannot even minimize the game, because it won't work properly, so you have to restart the entire game. Which makes me unable to search for stuff on the internet.
Campaign story didn't pull me into it enough to make me not refund the game.
Looks like I will still have to wait for a proper tactical capital ship space sim. This one is a waste of money.

For those who cannot get Co-op working, you have to manually allow it in your firewall. Afterwards, it'll work. Pretty cool co-op campaign experience, wish they made more games like this.

Early Access Review
The game is in EARLY ACCESS. Of course there are tons of bugs and the game isn't quite finished. Is it worth a buy, though?

Well, that matters what you expect from the game. If you want to pay for a game and receive a full gaming experience right now - then no. You should rather wait. But if you want to give your money for a good cause and support a gaming studio that deserves it, plus you don't mind waiting few months for a fully enjoyable experience, then yes - Do it.

I want to enjoy this game, I really do, but the whole engine is so damn annoying. The battles are decided in matters of 3-6 minutes, everything is too fast paced and battles are more arcade than tactics. The campaign is annoyingly frustrating and it is also too hard. There is also no hotseat mode as it was in Medieval 2 Total War. I am very disappointed with this game.

Definitely goes to the list of my most enjoyable computer single-player games. It is the most authentic medieval experience you can get. If you like a fine story and open world set in medieval times, I absolutely recommend this game. Combat might feel a bit clunky in the beginning and it'll take some time in practice range with Sir Bernard, but once you'll get the hang of it (and your character too, yes, he has to skill up those combat skills to parry and attack better), it is so damn satisfying to win a duel.

Mount & Blade, together with Dark Messiah of Might & Magic and Jedi Academy are all old 2000s games with the best combat system on the gaming market.

9/10.

Can't rate it 10, since the the developers still haven't realized what potential they have. If only they made the game a little bit more multiplayer competitive friendly with rankings and better statistics.

Ladies and gentlement. After Mount & Blade Warband, I thought I'll never find a better combat system. Boy, was I wrong. It is this game. It is absolutely amazing. This is the combat Skyrim should always have had.

Great game ruined by Paradox and their hunger for money.

Ignore the comments that bash combat controls or gameplay. If you're playing on PC master race, you have nothing to fear.
First, I'll talk about the pros and then the cons of this game.
+ The COMBAT is so innovative for a 2D platformer that can result in engaging battle situations. Many different weapons, each has its use. Multiple choices how to take down your oponent. You use your mouse for direction of the attack/direction of block/style of attack.
+ I especially like how this game tackled 2D space, making it multi-leveled, where forests, streets and rooms are built not into length, but into height. The battles often take place on multiple levels, where you can easily descend or jump up. It gives you freedom to fight how you like, compared to all the others 2D fighting games that are fought only in one line/one level.
+ You have many different oponents and each is vulnerable to different weapons. (Remember to use grenades, traps and flasks!) Same goes for boss battles.
+ The LEVEL DESIGN of this game is just fantastic! Every level and area was something new. Playing the hunter and prey game with Artemis, exploring scary ass dungeon of Hades' Underworld, solving the Athena's level was something to remember, must not forget on Ares' level - one huge ass death match with immortal warriors who were stuck there in never-ending battle.
+ Beautiful greek pottery art style. If you are a man/woman of culture, you'll definitely appreciate this jewel of a game.
+ Fantastic greek mythology setting.
+ It has an interesting ending that made me think after finishing the game.

- You have tons of weapons and sometimes it gets pretty hard to scroll through all of them in the middle of the action. Some hotkeys implementation could be needed. You can pause the game and choose it manually in the inventory, of course. It breaks the immersion, though.
- Lack of deep story. Of course, there is some story, but it's not enough. It has very little character development and the protagonist has no personality, which is such a shame! A good story, with plot twists and sidekicks and engaging antagonists and mainly, likeable protagonist with a personality, could have improved this game so much! (This is a message for devs :D )
- The greek mythos was mostly presented through tablets that you could read (quotes from real ancient greeks who wrote about the mythology). This could have been much better, if the mythos was implemented directly IN THE STORY, or shown in the environment. Message for the dev. team: Remember the main rule of story-writing: "Show, don't tell."
- It's short for such a good game! (I haven't finished the game on this account, so it's more than just my current "hrs on record")

Final conclusion: Do I recommend this game? Hell Yes!
It has fun innovative combat, the greatest level design I haven't seen in a game for a long time, and beautiful art style. This game definitely moved 2D platformers into a new, good direction and I would like to see more of it. Something like Apotheon 2, for example. :)
