It's okay. Not better than Borderlands 2 by a long shot, but it's not terrible.

The main campaign is really cringe, so I recommend just running through that ASAP. The gameplay is just good enough to carry you through the DLC but I just don't get the same urge to return to this game like I did with Borderlands 2.

Overall, not bad, but not the series best.

Pretty fun. Be sure to save often. If the shot's not 100%, then it's a 50/50.

TL;DR:
It's amazing. Worth buying at full price if you enjoy deck builders, resource management, or dating sims. Absolutely worth buying at any sort of discount.

Story:
The story is very straightforward. Sylvia, the MC, inherits a potion shop from her recently deceased uncle, along with the mountain of debt she needs to pay off lest she becomes a corporate slave for life.

There are a few plot twists in the story, but nothing that you won't see coming if you're really paying attention. In short, the overarching story is simply motivation for Sylvia and the player to continue playing.

However, although the story is straightforward, the characters and dialogue are not. You can tell that a lot of love went into all of the characters in this game. In fact, one of the best things about this game is the handful of supporting characters that you can interact with. They all have unique animations and dialogue to fit their personalities and its fun seeing them grow as you progress your relationships with them.

The story may drive you to beat the game, but the cast of characters are who bring you back into it for a second or third playthrough, simply to see how their respective stories unfold.

The dialogue can be somewhat corny at times, but that's not on accident. The game does not take itself overly seriously, playing fiddle with its own setting quite. For example, a rock idol with an electric guitar is the most famous bard in the game's fantasy setting, and a moth-bunny girl with a smartphone does your marketing in an island where there aren't any computers. In short, the dialogue is cheeky and fun to read through on your first playthrough.

Gameplay:
This game is a genre blend of 3 types of games: deck building, resource management, and dating sim. To be honest, i'm not a huge fan of any of these genres by themselves, however the way this game stitches them together is absolutely incredible.

The deck building aspect of this game comes into play when selling potions you made (resource management). Sylvia starts out with a simple deck of cards, but as she spends time with other characters, she receives more to augment her deck with. Hanging out with one character more (dating sim) rewards you with stronger cards from that character. However, there is a finite amount of time in a day, and you only have 10 days before the competition, which you must win or its game over! To say that this gameplay loop, as well as how the 3 genres interact with each other is well thought out would be an understatement.

Potion creation is also incredily satisfying, whether it be finishing the set of potions needed for one of your heroes to conquer the final adventure area, or giving it enough good traits to nab you a mountain of gold, bottling the perfect potion feels rewarding and you are rewarded well for doing so.

Graphics:
You can tell a lot of time went into the graphics and animations of this game. Sylvia has a unique animation for almost everything, including unique cards that you earn throughout the game from other characters. For example, a card from Baptiste will result in more over the top gestures while cards from Xid will result in Sylvia bopping to a beat in her head.

The 2D graphics are also well designed. Character art in the Deck Builder window are beautiful and the chibi art when in the shop is adorable. Overall, not much to complain about with the graphics.

Cons:
This game has no voice acting which is a shame considering how nice all of the characters are. However, given that this is a game from an indie developer with no other games, this is somewhat understandable.

I encountered quite a few bugs in this game during my playthrough. Nothing gamebreaking but definitely noticeable. For example, Owl just disappears from the shop screen and day end summary screen after a certain spoiler moment in the game. This is despite his text bubble appearing but pointing to nothing.

Another bug was with the aging barrels. If you put potions in a barrel, then, without beginning the aging process, replace that barrel with a new one, the potions that you initially put in will disappear.

Again, nothing game breaking that can't be fixed with a few patches.

This game also really needs some QoL changes. Things like a notepad to keep track of potions that you need to make, or an option in Quinn's store to highlight ingredients with specific colors. There are lots of QoL changes that would help this game a ton, play it and you'll understand immediately.

Finally, this game REALLY needs an endless mode where players don't have to worry about the 10 day time limit. This would allow players to mess with more ingredients, finish out more character interactions, and just have a stress free environment to continue playing after the credits roll.

Good news though is that since installing this game on release day, there have been 2 patches fixing bugs and adding small QoL changes. So the devs are actively fixing and modifying the game after release. So keep that in mind!

Overall 4.9/5:
Damn near perfect indie title. Knows what it wants to be and sticks to it. Strongly recommend if you're looking for a relatively short (~25 hours) experience filled with heart and charm.

This game has all the ingredients of a perfect indie title: A well thought out premise, addicting gameplay loop, and a distinct enough style to set it apart from the rest of the competition.

The main thing holding this game back is a lack of voice acting, small bugs here and there, and some QoL improvements.

I haven't enjoyed an indie game this much in a long time and I am really looking forward to this team's next project whether it be a sequel or a new idea all together. With the talent shown with this game, I genuinely believe this team has what it takes to be like the next SuperGiantGames. Definitely keeping an eye out for this dev!

Not terrible, but definitely not nearly as good as Borderlands 2.

Overall feels somewhat linear. The DLC is a lot of fun though. I would recommend 1 playthrough then move on.

It's good. I mean it took GameFAQ's "Game of the Forever Award", dethroning The Ocarina of Time so I mean how can I say otherwise?

No but really if you haven't tried this game go for it. For only $10 (even less if theirs a sale) this game is a steal for how good it is.

Even if you decide you dont want to pay and pirate it, I highly encourage you to at least give back to the creator in some way, be it fan art, buying the OST (the music is God-tier), or even just writing a review.

It's not every day a game this good hits Steam.

This is a game long escort mission that doesn't suck. The story is mind blowing, the gameplay is fluid, the powers feel good to use, the characters are mysterious and interesting. The game is just good. It's just GOOD.

Don't think of it as side scroller Minecraft. These two games are similar in the aspect of resource collecting and building, but the similarities stop there. Terraria has more of focus on mob variety and explortion. More emphasis on things like boss battles and rare mineral farming, and it's those things that make this game appealing.

In conclusion, if you are intersted in the things listed aboce, this game is worth the price tag.

It's honestly a little bare without the DLC, but if you do have those, then the game is pretty good. It can suck you in and just absorb hours of your life away.

If you're looking to buy the vanilla game, I suggest that you wait for a sale and buy the base game with the DLC content. I promise you it'll be a better experience.

It's simple, it's straightforward, It's easy to pick up. For the price, it's a steal.
Also the soundtrack is insanly good. I leave this game up in the background sometimes just to listen to the music
