Overall: B+
This is a sweet game. It's charming and just overall a delight. It reminds me a lot of Undertale in a good way; not in the gameplay or mechanics, mind you, but in the overall feel of the game. It is an extremely character-focused story and, despite its morbid themes, is quite touching. Nothing in the story will blow you away but sometimes, a simple story told well is just what you need.

I also love the paper cutout look of the battles where every sprite has a thick white border around them. It makes the sprites really pop. The overall look of the game is quite nice too. Simple, yet effective. The battle mechanics overall are quite fun and I'd love to see it expanded upon in whatever the developer does next. Character progression is quick and breezy so you can max out your stats with almost no grinding. This keeps combat fresh the whole time despite how simple it is.

It is a short game at around 2 1/2 hours but is well worth the time. The game is lots of fun and it feels like robbery that it's free. An easy, strong recommendation.
