Early Access Review
I can seriously just recommend this game. Endless fun, replayability and possibilites. Great developers, great and fun community, modding-friendly. Just don't see it as an crash-simulator only, cause it is so much more. If you are into circuit racing, rallying and so on, you'll definitely have alot of fun in it - esspecially because of it's physics and damage model. DiRT Rally is a piece of cake, compared to finishing long distance rallyes in here. Though not as hard as RBR (Which you should try if you are into rallye). And always keep in mind - this is still an Alpha, but it's stunningly good and definitely not an empty shell. Almost felt like ripping off the developers for roughly 20 bucks.

Enough said, the game speaks for itself and I've wanted to give it some positive, well deserved feedback.

This game came quite a long way. Some of the greatest gaming moments I've encountered in here, if not the best at all. Sad moments, extremely funny moments, and so much more. Endless replayability - at least for me. Best with good friends. There were times I've lost any hope for it, but it's good to finally see the DayZ I've always dreamed about - esspecially because of all the mods available. Well, only thing I'd really like to see now is the return of bows and crossbows. Plus non-spastic vehicles. And some new mechanics like radiation - even though mods got this covered -, and more rare equipment and stuff like that.

Not much more to tell.

EDIT: As of 01.30.22, I feel the need to alter my review a bit, esspecially regarding the "Best Rallye-Simulation", which isn't DiRT - it's RBR.

This is one well made rallye simulation, even though it has it's flaws.

Still this wondeful piece of rallying brings back many childhood memories and feelings when playing Colin McRae 1 and 2 for the first time. It's that special something that's hard to describe. The pricetag for all the stuff, if not on discount, is something to reconsider investing in. But it's good quality, and you'll enjoy it if you enjoy rally in general. I got everything on a discount anyway.

It has a decent selection of cars, including many legendary cars from Group B, for example W. Röhrls Audi Quattro. The only thing I'm really missing with a heartache are Toyotas ... No Corolla, no Celica. I loved those vehicles in older games. Subaru Impreza, Ford Focus, Toyota Celica - the holy trinity of the 90s and early 2000s, unfortunately not complete because Codemasters and Toyota are a little bit distanced to eachother, at least in the past years. I'm not a big fan of the recent, modern rally vehicles, though I don't mind them - it's good they are there, of course, but more classics would also be more appreciated. Nothing can be perfect mostly, and this game is no exemption, but it still is well made. Maybe DiRT Rally 3.0 will feel complete, and lets's hope they add some sort of modding support, so the community is able to complete it - like in many titles nowadays.

... But let's be clear, I won't get DiRT Rally 3.0 if you don't have toyotas in it.

Conclusion: If you're a racing fan, or more specifically a rallye enthusiast, you'll definitely enjoy this game. Physics aren't that realistic, tarmac driving feels off somehow, but it's alright in the end. If this is the first time you familiarize yourself with rally, still keep in mind that it's nothing for the faint-hearted, and even though there are harder sims out there - like BeamNG or RBR -, it's still unforgiving for what it is, esspecially for newcomers. And I'd recommend to use a racing wheel/rig to enjoy it fully.

Global Mobilization VS RHS & CUP - Comparison >>> https://imgur.com/a/QKZw4mf

Followed the creation process of this project for quite a long time, and it's absolutely epic to finally see it release.

What's to tell? The models, textures, animations, sounds and overall quality of everything easily exceeds everything else in ArmA 3. You can clearly feel that a alot of passion and love was put into this, and the fact that it ain't over and alot of other content is to come in the future, is very promising! Plus the map is just, well, probably one the best - if not the best - map ArmA has ever seen. Every building is enterable, and the overall look is astonishing authentic, aswell as the level of details. Not to mention the historically accurate and well known "Iron Curtain".

Finally ArmA goes back again to it's Cold War roots. It's pleasing to spend a few bucks for this piece of art, which otherwise probably wouldn't exist in it's shape or form it does now - if ever.

Theres nothing wrong with this at all. So if you're into Cold War, high quality assets and a 22GB ton of new content - stop thinking and JUST DO IT!

ADDITION: I've already seen alot of negative reviews, claiming that this DLC would include retextured assets, reused models, even weapons from vanilla ArmA 3 or ArmA 2, some even say that they've stolen content from mods - this is an outstanding lie, made up by some very doubtful people as I can imagine.

Just to make it clear to everyone reading this: This DLC, it's assets, vehicles, weapons and content in general is COMPLETELY made from scratch. Nothing in it has been used in any shape or form before.

The developers of this DLC do not deserve to be derided in such a perfidious way by petty kiddies or simply small-minded liars. To doubt or discredit the quality of this work is a bottomless impudence, and I'm just ashamed of some of those people's comments.

Some say the textures are shabby, at the level of e.g. Unsung. I strongly advise these people either to visit an ophthalmologist because they clearly have serious perception problems, or to increase their texture quality in their options. Qualitatively, this DLC is on a far higher standard than RHS and on a MUCH higher standard than CUP could ever be.

Still others say that they are disappointed with the choice of weapons. I would like to inform these people that any weapon used in those armies in 1983 is included. This circumstance is also called "realistic". Only anti-aircraft missiles are missing, which are very likely to be added in an update with aircrafts. But to be fair, I know that the term "realistic" is a foreign word for many here, as well as the fact that they play a military simulation, and not Fortnite as usual.

Again some say they are upset that quality is more important than quantity, and in their incompetence regarding military knowledge they demand content in the form of weapons and vehicles, which were never used in these armies.

In addition, they forget that this whole DLC is not from Bohemia itself, but from two people who have developed it for years in their spare time, two people which also are very genuine and respected members of the ArmA-Community itself. Have you ever played on a map called Celle 2? Well, guess who made the map in this DLC. Some even criticize the map, saying that the buildings would be repetitive, and everything would be mediocre. I can only assume that people who make such statements, have never walked on Altis or Stratis before - because those maps are repetitive.

Only an ignorant person can make such unrealistic utterances. For me personally, it is clear that this DLC is intentionally discredited by various people, most likely for a variety of dubious reasons, which I do not have to list here. Just the amount of work that needs to flow in, for example, just ONE vehicle of this quality is immense.

If you cannot acknowledge that, and you rather have a large pile of half-finished crap instead of a decent pile of gold and no patience to wait for any further content - which will come - then please play either Fortnite or Fallout 76, buy some shoddy cosmetics for five or more bucks, and keep your half-knowledge for yourself.

The innovations which have been produced in many aspects by the developers, innovations which will contribute to making free mods better in the future, are completely ignored here aswell. It is simply disrespectful and stupid to pay attention to a thing for five minutes, and condemn it for all time.

I can only advise everyone to make their own picture, and especially not to listen to various fundamentless comments, which only serve to let out their own frustration about alleged "paid mods". We are witnessing one of the few times that a community benefits from such a thing, and all that many can do is overshadow it with their frustration and ignorance.

To compare this DLC and the work that has flown into with various free mods which often lack in consistency of quality, is simply out of touch with reality. Everyone who is seriously interested in this DLC and the setting, and has some patience for further development, will surely not be disappointed.

Godspeed, Kameraden.

A Review by some die hard, old "Fallout Fan", after more than 900 Hours of gameplay.

Spoilers included. Swearing included. Truth included.

Let's get right into it.

_______________________

1: Special Perks/Skills:
They don't influence anything! In previous Fallout titles, every perk, every skill you've achieved, no matter if it was for charisma, strength, intelligence and so on, influenced your game experience with unique dialogue options and other things. Its gone now!

2: Engine:
The fact that you guys still use this old, heavily modified morrowind-engine, not only shows how you guys are unable to evolve as a game development studio, it also shows that you probably don't want to evolve, because you think your games are the pinnacle of open world RPG's - well hear the news - THEY ARE NOT.

3: Karma-System:
The karma-system is missing! Despite the fact someone have thought that this won't be a problem afterall, it's a huge problem and another step downhill for a once great game ! While FO3/NV had a karma system, Fallout 4 does not have it, and it takes away the feeling that the world is reacting to your actions! It takes away the soul and everything else which gave immersion for the choices you made ingame! Cause nothing actually really matters now! "Eradicate Diamond City? Who cares, go on, you lost your stupid son so I will forgive you!"

4: Popularity-System:
This one was also cut, or was never planned to be ingame because Bethesda didn't want to spend time on this! FO:NV greatly introduced this system, and it was absolutely great having the choice to be friends with nearly EVERY faction present ingame - depending on the choices you've made!

5: Building-System:
Despite the fact I've spend tons of hours building settlements - which at the end didn't served any real purpose than being cosmetic crap like everyhing else in this game - this system is so unbeliveable broken and almost unusable, that the easiest constructs sometimes made you grind your teeths because of frustration! Thankfully to your community, all the mods helped eradicate the undone stuff you left over!

6: DLC's:
Excluding Far Harbor and Automatron, all the other DLC's are an absolute joke, and an underwhelming experience, and not worth their money. Too much workshop stuff, which wouldn't be so bad if settlements - like I said before - would serve more than just an cosmetic purpose.

And Nuka World ... Holy fu**, how I hate it! I even prefer the horse armor! I wouldn't even mind it, if it just was some small addon in the middle of other DLC's, but the fact that it really is the last DLC, is such an complete disappointment, I have no words left for it. The quests, the raiders, the wasteland - everyhing is mediocre at it's best, probably much worse.

7: Special-Items:
None of them actually has some special design or some special "enchantment", nothing feels unique, everything is just the same stuff! At least in Skyrim some of the special items were unique, not all, but some, but in Fallout 4 nearly every special item isn't special! Copy paste at it's finest! Every reward is just underwhelming. Think it's not important? Well, maybe it ain't imported for some kiddos with low standards, but for true fans - IT IS IMPORTANT!

8: Mainquest:
Probably the most miserable mainquest I've ever saw in a game, and the fact that I really don't have another choice than blowing up this or that faction at the end, is just lazy writing and lazy development.

GIVE ME SOME REAL ALTERNATIVE!

THATS THE PROBLEM WITH PRE-DEFINED CHARACTERS IN AN PSEUDO-RPG. YOU DON'T REALLY HAVE A CHOICE TO MAKE IT "YOUR" CHARACTER. YOU ARE BOUND TO A BACKGROUND STORY. FO:NV DID A GREAT JOB WITH THE COURIER! THATS WHAT I CALL AN RPG-ELEMENT.

9: THE LORE:
Some big problem with Fallout 4 !

WHAT THE **** DID BETHESDA HAD IN MIND WHEN MAKING THIS LORE ******* X-01-Quantum-Power-Armor and putting it into Nuka World? The X-01 - Advanced Power Armor - Was made by the enclave in the year 2215, put into duty in 2220, served until the year 2270!

YOU CAN'T PUT THIS ARMOR INTO NUKA WORLD! NUKA WORLD IS PRE-WAR! IT MAKES NO SENSE! YOU CAN'T JUSTIFIE IT! EVEN IF BRADBERTON HAD TIES WITH PRE-WAR GROUPS OF THE MILITARY, THE ADVANCED POWER ARMOR NEVER WAS INTENTED TO BE A PRE-WAR PROTOTYPE ! IT NEVER EXISTED PRE-WAR! IT WAS MADE ABOUT 150 YEARS LATER BY THE ENCLAVE!

IT ALSO NEVER MADE SENSE THAT THIS MANY PARTS OF THE X-01 ARE SCATTERED AT PRE-WAR MILITARY-CHECKPOINTS! WHY WOULD THEY! IT'S ENCLAVE... IT-MAKES-NO-SENSE!

AND WHAT THE **** IS THE T-60 POWER ARMOR SUPPOSED TO BE!? I COULD UNDERSTAND IT'S EXISTENCE IF IT WOULD BE MADE BY THE BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL AFTER THE EVENTS OF PROJECT PURITY AND THE ADAMS AIR FORCE BASE, IT WOULD MAKE SENSE IF IT WAS AN UPDATE OF THE BROTHERHOODS T-45 POWER ARMOR. BUT IT ISN'T!

THE T-51 WAS THE PINNACLE OF PRE-WAR POWER ARMOR! NOT THE T-60! IT'S PRE-WAR EXISTENCE IS OBSOLETE! AND THIS MAKES NO SENSE! IT'S ANOTHER FAILURE AT RESPECTING YOUR OWN WORLD!

AND WHAT ABOUT THE GHOUL-CHILD LIVING IN A REFRIGERATOR FOR 200 YEARS! GHOULS ALSO NEED FOOD AND WATER! THEY ALWAYS DID!

IT'S NOT ABOUT REALISM, IT'S ABOUT THE CONSISTENCE OF YOUR WORLD! YOU JUST CAN'T CHANGE THIS CONSISTENCE! BECAUSE IT WILL END IN A NON-LOGICAL MASH-UP!

J.R.R TOLKIEN ONCE SAID YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THE RULES OF THE WORLD YOU CREATED! OTHERWISE YOUR WORLD IS DOOMED!

10: Mapdesign:
Excluding Far Harbor AGAIN, the overall Mapdesign is just terrible and horrible boring! Even the mojave desert is far more enjoyable - AND IT'S A DESERT!

And nuka world's wasteland... Just some flat piece of dirt with mutated inhabitants and a theme park! And the locations, well, most of the time they don't serve any real purpose than being cells for loot! I can't remember one cave, one location which awarded me with some real special gun or armor, or quest!

AND THE MAP IS SMALL! ♥♥♥♥! NEARLY 1/3 OF THE COMMONWEALTH IS WATER! IGN 2/10 - TOO MUCH WATER!

11: Dialogue-System:
PROBABLY EVERY GAMER AROUND THE WORLD IS ON MY SIDE AT THIS ONE!

THIS CATCHPHRASE-DIALOGUE-SYSTEM IS SO MESSED UP! DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT ANYWAY DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO SAY IN THIS GAME, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO SAY EXACTLY! ITS QUICKSAVE AND RELOAD EVERYTIME, UNTIL YOU GET AN ANSWER THAT FITS YOUR STYLE!

WHY ARE YOU ******* GAME-DEVELOPERS ALWAYS TRY TO FIX SOMETHING THAT AIN'T BROKEN!

AND COMPARED TO OTHER FALLOUT TITELS, WHICH OFFERED DOZENS OF ANSWERS, THIS NEW SYSTEM LIMITS THOSE OPTIONS TO A TOTAL OF 4! WHICH IS SO RETARDED! YOU MUST BE A REAL OBSCURE PERSON TO COME UP WITH SUCH AN IDEA!

BUT THATS THE TYPE OF GAME WE ARE FACING TODAY! KEEP IT SIMPLE, MAKE IT EASIER, BECAUSE MORE PEOPLE WILL BUY AND PLAY IT THEN!

12: Copy-Paste-Quests:
You recycle quests from previous titles. What is going on with your writers?

13: Factions:
The Factions. They all are somehow boring. Esspecially since the most epic nemesis - the enclave - doesn't even get more than two mentions in Fallout 4 - like they've never ever existed.

Institute: Canon-Died-Pseudo-Enclave-Replacer.

Railroad: PETA of the wasteland.

BoS: Technology hording troglodyts.

Minuteman: Faction you are somehow bound to without any other choice.

14: Nuka-World-Raiders:
Again nothing more than cosmetic trash. I can't progress with them in the mainquest. It doesn't matter that I joined them. Preston says kill them - EVERYHING IS GOOD AGAIN.

_______________________

While there are still many things I'd like to mention, I guess it's enough if I say that Fallout 4 is an absolute waste for every true fallout fan. It's nothing more than a cosmetic silhouette, an outline of a once great game.

If theres any hope for Fallout, than it's name is
Obsidian Entertainment.
