They straight up got strong armed into releasing it. Their investors were screaming to release it, people were losing interest, etc. I had been preordered since like, 2017-2018? I never cancelled my preorder and people called me crazy for doing so.

Aye, I was surprised to find out myself. My feelings about the whole Cyberpunk debacle changed completely after looking into it. They were basically financially forced into releasing early. Losing billions of dollars for a delay ensures no more delays since that's more than your game is even likely to make.
