Try it. The pacing is odd and way past throwback slow at first. The story has a few starts and stops as well but once it gets going its quite a ride and once your class actually has abilities (seriously its quite the slow start) its a great break from modern mmo combat sensibilities.

Game is well designed with no FOMO, no massive daily grind thanks to the sub. The social aspects are top notch. The last of the mmo's that gives me that freedom/possibilities vibe.

They don't make them like this anymore. Free trial, you know the meme. Try it you just might like it.

Played previous demo versions of this. Its really really good and unique. Give it a try if you've ever played moba's ever played any management/sim type game or just like to try things that aren't <insert genre here now with more microtransactions!>

Highly recommended.

You take a team of five scrubs through the internet-cafe league to semi-pro while expanding their hero pools, doing all sorts of rpg improvements, making various coaching decisions and playing matches vs AI. In between seasons you can fire and recruit new players and the game gets more depth and complexity as items and heroes are added and new rules/meta changes with each "Season".

For democracy, quite a game. All sorts of things the wider greedier gaming world won't learn from. You will enjoy your stay.

Buy this. Doesn't even have to be on sale to be worth it.

Keep an eye out for whatever these guys make next.

Despite the fact that the co-op is really tacked on and has several subpar aspects this is one of the most fun pve w/ friends games ive ever played.

Co-op details:
Only one player's map (the host) is advanced and sadly the other players are mere guests. The huge drawbacks being that while they get to bring their own community members and home inventory. Their members do no heal over time and cannot be sent for blood plague treatment. This means over longer sessions the guests are going to suffer attrition that the host can manage but they cannot.
The other huge issue is that you cannot ever be too far from the host as marked by a circle. That's because outside that circle around the host the game isn't even tracking/spawning anything. So if you get too far the game "tethers" you back to the host. Teleporting you.

There's other stuff but those are the big ones.

Multiplayer works well though. Invites thru steam or in-game are fast and joining is quick.

Modding: the other thing you want to know about if you are going to pick up an old game like this on sale for you and the boys would be how is modding. Its rather limited but there are a few who have had some success and there is a discord with tools, guides and a small group of capable people willing to help if you want to give it a go yourself.

Value: If I see this for $7.50 ever again I might just buy it for a bunch of people no questions asked its that good. Whenever its $15 I def ping and link it places in the hopes more people try it. Its a gem of a game if you like community building, apocalypse sim, zombies, etc.
Driving around with 3 friends each in your own vehicle, hopping out and killing your way to a plague heart then looting everything and jumping back in. It just feels good. Its a satisfying gaming experience. You can pump the difficulty and even mod it even nastier so that you have to make hitless runs or die. You can make it into much more of a stealth or else type game if you want a horror experience. Try modding the night spawns to be way more extreme.

Is it perfect? not at all. I have huge issue with a few core design decisions that can only be correctly awkwardly with mods. But its not a game easily replaced since it has competent 3rd person shooting mechanics, the melee/execution system is alright. And even though they didn't design around it... co-op is really fun.

Incredibly P2WIN and keeps getting worse and worse and worse in that department.
Gameplay and art wise Snap is good. Collection progression through Set3 cards is pretty fun.

The game is getting worse by the month now with the rate at which new Set4 and 5 cards are added and how terrible the key system is. Snap basically has the least fun gacha system ever that consistently releases overtuned "units" (cards) into a pvp environment to try to FOMO people into swiping.

These devs are greedy af, you're better off not picking this up.

Is this game using awful AI art? Yes.
Is this game doing something wildly out there and fun like making a manager game for generic 3 lane MOBA that we might all recognize the basic structure of? Yes it is. Blame Rito that they got beaten to the punch as this is an absolutely fantastic idea and about 10,000,000 times more fun than actually playing pub moba's.

Also this is free and its basically a demo so far of beating the training league when your team aren't even pros yet.

Spend some time randomizing your team, get a hero pool + player trait combo that you like and then go to town, its very fun. Sure it could be better but its already doing more fun things than so many $50+ games so give it a try. Yes yes ai art is f'd up and morally wrong. No doubt. But its a tiny tiny tiny part of the art the game uses. And meaningless to the function of the game.

Did you like Gunz? Play this. Do you like janky games that are really doing something out there over slick high production value games that are all glitz no meat? Then NBP is free, might as well give it a try.
If you hate asian mobage style 50 events and 200 currency systems... that's going to trigger you here.
For sure if you played Gunz or Absolver or play anime fighting games. This is worth the install.

This aint it, far from the worst but i'd say skip for sure

gun balance is fairly ♥♥♥♥. most of all tho, they didn't even bother w/ killcam, you can't see your per weap stats, literal chinese abandonware mobile games have these things. pathetic.

one of the least stable and most poor performing games you'll find that maintains popularity. Is Apex worth playing? yes bc most BR's are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad and it has a fun movement system and decent gunplay. Should you play Apex? No. because EA/Respawn shouldn't be rewarded for this half ass nonsense
