Been gaming for a good part of my life, to the level where I can confidently say that I understand all the types of games I play and see, and I can predict if a game is going to be successful or not.

Occasionally I write reviews for the games I play, to somewhat good quality. I usually go overboard with the amount of writing I do for a review. I still go nuts if I am passionate about a game, disappointed, or hate it.

I have accustomed myself to games since 2000 and I've been playing them since they're on a pretty regular basis. I have tried almost every game genre out there.
Sequentially I played were Strategy Games, Shooting Games, Driving, Sports, Action-Adventure, MMORPGs, BR's, CO-OP Games.

I mostly enjoy single-player story-focused games with great aesthetics and full of heart or engaging co-op loot/crafting-based games. That doesn't mean I won't play anything else, but I think this is my groove.

Rarest Achievement Showcase
The Regression of the Gaming Industry - An 2023 excerpt
7 December 2023 - The Day Before, one of the most awaited, and the most wishlisted game on Steam has finally released. It did not release as a complete title, as it was supposed to since 2021, but with an Early Access tag...

The game has been launched with miriads of bugs and completely different than what it was marketed on, even in a complete different gender. The game was so bad that in only 4 days since launch, history has been made. The developing studio has been disbanded, the game has been deemed a commercial failure, it had/has a 50% refund rate, Steam issued refunds even after the 2 hours rate, to all players seeking refund indiferent of hours, IGN rated this game a 1 out of 10, a rating that has not been awarded by IGN in 10 years.

The full and mighty release out of Early Access will never happen. This wasn't a 5 "tireless years" work of a passionate studio It was an attempt to cob a product using only UE assets in less than 6 months and selling to the users in hopes it fools them for long a while to cash out fast. Fortunately their product was so trash and players used their critic sense and refunded/did not buy, and slammed the developer and the game so much in the ground, that they were forced to admit defeat.

This is a story of a incompetent, malicious studio that promised way too much than what they could ever deliver. It is also of a scam and bait and switches, shameless plugs to one of their other titles. Even at release the game was marketed as a complete different product than what it was delivered.

This is one of the titles for the history books and which will be remembered, hopefully, for years.
As in all my gamning experience, I haven't seen such a highly anticipate title, that would have/should have break day 0 attendance (if it was good), turn in a dumpster fire, which got canceled and closed in 4 Days. There are stories of games like The Cycle or Evolve, or Defiance, but never such a high attraction title to die so fast. A huge tale of never preorder, never buy, based on trailers and personal wishes and anticipation.

Later update... Aaaand it's gone. Game has been nuked out from Steam, everyone is getting their money back, and servers will fully close on 22 January after the studio closed.

26 May 2023 - After 12 year in development, the PC MMO, Throne & Liberty is an autoplayer garbage MMO that is weak even for mobile game standards.

25 May 2023 - The Lord of the Rings: Gollum a disaster. Shameless cash grab on Tolkien's universe, horrible PS 2 graphics, gameplay, story, gameplay. The complete misinterpretation of Gollum, in a game filled of bugs, idiocracy and a presentation that couldn't be further than the books lore. It touches nothing, and brings aspects that no one could even think about it in a Gollum game. The tragic story of Smeagol is looked upon and misses everything it could try to hit. This is a game for no one even if there were no bugs no glitches and god graphics. You are left with a ♥♥♥♥ puzzle platformer game that no one aever asked for. A hefty price to ask and an insult to any Lord of the Rings fan with compendium and lore acurate diallogue as a DLC.

2 May 2023 - Redfall, has just destroyed the good will of Arkane Studios. Xbox just had to push Arkane, a studio known for single story RPG game into an Online Only Co-Op Zombie (Vampire) experience. Everyone knows that no one wanted to make this game from their studio but Xbox had to push this them. This is Arkane's fault as well, but the end product is a horrible mess of a dated game in all aspects and a buggy technicall mess with brain dead AI and a complete barren dead land in terms of story and world design.

28 April 2023 - STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™ - Electronic Arts a great game riddened with optimisations issues and being launched before completion because EA had to get it in time for May the 4'st be with you.

28 Feb 2023 - Last of Us Part One, one of the best game ever has received one of the worst PC ports.
A game that has been originally released on PlayStation 3 10 yeaars ago to exceptional reviews, remastered on PS4 9 years ago and on PS5 in 2022, and inspired a highly acclaimed HBO show in 2023, is running extremely bad on PC.
After the PC launch has being postponed 4 weeks for optimization and to guarantee an awesome experience worthy of the Last of Us series, the actual release has been horrible. After higly riding the HBO show hype train, the 28 March has been met with critical distain.

A game that even after so many releases, Sony still had the guts to ask players to pay 59,99 EUR for Standard and 69,99 EUR for the re-release is in technical shambles. It's clear that Sony either didn't care or was full incompetent on porting the game. And at the end of the release cycle, instead of getting a proper porting studio like Nixxes, or the people responsable for God of War release, they got Iron Galaxy on board, the studio responsable for the horrible Batman: Arkham Knight port on PC.

It's clear they didn't care at all, and just wanted to cash in the hype train from the show, and TLOU name.

Let me be clear, the issues are present and occur to everyone, doesn't matter how good of a PC system you have, and the one weaker can't even run the game properly or performs horrible.
This is an issue that should have been caught super early, and there is no way around it.
Sony knew this, and still instead of postponing again, they released, just after the HBO show reached it's finale.

This is the last nail in the coffin for DON'T PREORDER GAMES. Even the one from highly sought franchises, and even from games that have been released in the past, functional, working and to great critical acclaim.

I just hope, for PC players sake and for the TLOU awesome story, that this will be fixed in time.

2022 - Lost Ark has relased in the west. A predator game like Diablo Immortal is the biggest launch in franchise history having at least 10 million downloads. Players/Streamers spending 10k figures or 100k figures to gear their characters. At the same time, Diablo Immortal is Blizzard's and world's lowest Metacritic score game, dethroning Warcaft 3: Reforged, having, at the time of writing, a 0.2 score out of 10.

2021 - One of the worst years in AAA video game history, and not only.
If there is a lesson that really needs to be remembered with New World, Evolve, Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 2042, GTA Trilogy Remake is:
Don't preorder, don't buy games because of the hype, don't buy games from franchises that you love just because X Company or X game cannot fail. Also, never buy a game for what it could be, it's potential or Roadmap, just buy it for exactly what it is at Release or at the moment of purchase. Don't believe Roadmaps, or PR Marketing.

God of War, one of the best in everything
Completed the main game and most of the side content did not 100% yet, plan to do it in the future.

The game is one of the best I've played and is great in every aspect. I saw 9/10 scores everywhere but to be honest it's a solid 10 out of 10, not perfect but very close to being. A 10 doesn't have to be perfect, just has to have great parts and great cohesion, which it definitely has.

The fact that everything can be explored even after completing the game with no region/area locking after completion. Every part of the Open World is nicely done, and to be honest is better than Lara Croft's open-world designs, which the game sometimes seems similar.
Main Story missions are bombastic and intriguing plot-wise.
Side content is interesting and makes you follow it to discover new things about Norse mythology and the game world. No padding. Everything is nicely explained.
Multiple teleport points after reaching a certain point into the story when you can teleport everywhere you unlock. I think if there is something to critique is that the teleport points you unlock early in the game and mid-game can just teleport you forth to one region, and only after a certain point in the game does it allow you to teleport forth and back.

Game audio and music in cutscenes are great and in the atmosphere, but to be honest, the music while fighting is not that imposing. It focuses more on the impact of the weapon and the hits you do, offering audio feedback on fights rather than having the music and score be the showcase.

Map after a point looks small, but the fact that you have fog doesn't make you know exactly how small is. It's medium, not huge. You also have teleported to different realms, but the icing on the cake is the FANTASTIC LEVEL DESIGN this game has, making Lake of the Nyne a very rare jewel in gaming. As you progress the water scales down and unearths new explorable paths and walkways to the regions already visited. Making you unlock new secrets, collectibles, gear, and lorry bits.

The fighting, skills, and weapons are brilliantly placed, and I was shocked when I discovered the 2nd set of weapons, right when I had all the skills unlocked for the main and I thought the game is getting very close to the end. Great, and I loved the new old weapons.

Great storytelling, great protagonists, great characters overall, nice written, likable side characters, funny, and many great reveals nicely spared up in the game as you explore the world and/or advance the storyline.

The final revelation on who Atreus is, really changes how you view Norse mythology. The whole game changes what the MCU and the most recent cultures tried to do with its mythology. It shows the nature of gods and spins the story of Thor and Odin great. A part of the story is also present a bit in the Thor: Ragnarok movie when Hela and Thor confront. A lot and a lot of mythology are well presented and spaced out.

The gameplay is solid in every aspect and there is a lot of content to do. Many difficulties to select and a great New Game + that allows you to keep everything you upgraded and scales the enemies to your new level and also offers them new attacks to keep them fresh.
A jewel that I highly recommend.

Tried it on the Xbox One X controller but fiddled a bit with the mouse and keyboard. Works greatly on both.
I highly recommend getting Flawless Widescreen and setting it to +25%, as there is no FOV scale in the core game.

Thanks! There are others who are better at me though - i avoid difficult games nowadays since i don't want to waste time to 100% them, hahah.

Also, i'm glad to have a fellow reviewer around. You seem to do a good job with your reviews yourself :)
