This is a great concept of a game ruined by metagaming. Games are played and won based on the rules of the largest group of people on their own discord. On Public servers you will frequently see friend groups teaming together regardless of role. Even on private whitelisted servers those inner clique that contribute do the same thing. It's free, you get what you pay for

This top-down, rogue-like, loot-tastic, time-stop, secret spy, randomly generated fortress infiltration, In SpAcE!1! puzzle game is great!

This is a terrible game, full of terrible people.

If your boyfriend plays this game, dump him. Anyone that doesn't play rust must be the better person.

Seriously, play this game. As in, take it seriously. If you don't understand concepts learn them. Make yourself better. You cannot do bad for yourself learning to play this game and learning it will only make you smarter.

This game should be a fundamental activity in all student curriculum. Our world world would be better.

So here's how this game will go for you. You'll play the singleplayer and have a bit of fun. Learn the races a bit, think it's all cool, make a tribe, make a nation.

Then you play multiplayer.

You'll do okay for a while, maybe make some kills as a peasant. Maybe even get your ♥♥♥♥ together enough to get some gear each rount.

But you're going to run into the dude that just beheds you, no matter what you do. He's going to ♥♥♥♥ you. Even with a bit of learning you're not going to understand why.

This is 90% of this game.

You play singly player, make a nation, get bored, go to multiplayer and end up in lobbies with dudes that just ♥♥♥♥ you.

Its not fun.

If you wanna have fun at this game. Play the single player then refund. There's no depth, just veterans that want to farm you.

I might even nominate this for a pirate option. It's got nothing of substance.

I reviewed this game positively many years ago and was given many accolades for my review. Unfortunately my opinion has deeply changed over the years. I have now deleted my review and am now writing this one.

This is a purely multiplayer game. If you are new you have a choice between two things, the poorly developed matched games or private servers.

In poorly developed matched games you will have to play a "meta" perfectly or your entire team will yell at each other and forfeit at the slightest mistake.

In private servers you can join unregulated servers where you can be food for high rank players, or you can join "Noob friendly" servers where you can be food for high rank players on their smurf account.

In short, do not buy this game. It's a dead game and all that is left is elitists. You will not have fun.

This game had so much potential but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it bad now.

There is a certain point in this game where it transforms from a first person spaceship simulator to a top-down strategy game. The process is so slow you don't notice it's happening. You start off blasting criminals escaping a station or mining mineral nodes in an asteroid field. Before you know it you're standing on the bridge of your flagship, supported by a fleet, commanding an entire empire. The little things like piloting and aiming guns don't really seem to matter anymore, you have people for that. There's nothing stopping you from taking the lift down to the carrier deck and taking a fighter out for a spin though. Just this time you have enough support to literally shade a planet.

It's like if the Sims was bipolar and had a really dark sense of humour.

I like it because it's as hard as you want to make it. You can just hit spacebar, go do your laundry and then sit back down and pick up where you left off.

The new DLC is a huge leap too, I was surprised. I thought it was finished and polished and mods added all that I needed but it's really coming through.

I like it.
