I want to like this game, I really do, but it has some major issues. Some are minor. The controls are clunky, you will get stuck on the scenery a lot, squigs are annoying, etc. My big issue actually has to do with one of the core mechanics of the game though, how to heal. The primary way to heal is by doing melee finishers on enemies. Early on, this isn't a problem. Later on though, this can be an issue. The finisher takes time to show, time in which you can still be damaged but you are locked into the animation. This means that sometimes you will be killed while you trying to heal because you got hit doing the finisher. This is especially problematic against bigger enemies like nobs, which have longer finisher animations. Also, it is specifically melee finishers, so if you are in a fight with ranged enemies, you probably won't be able to heal, especially if they are a distance away or in a location that you can't get to. I use Fury Mode to heal than I do to cut a swath of destruction through my enemies. I really hope that Space Marine 2 either changes this mechanic or at least implements it better.

This is a surprisingly fun game. The story is interesting, especially if you like SCPs.

Be warned, if you are expecting a game that works well immediate this is not it. I've had a little bit of stuttering but nothing too bad. In the last couple of days though I haven't been able to get more than 15 min of game time before it freezes and crashes. This is incredibly annoying because I had no problems the first few days so I am guessing that something got updated and it broke the game for me. I have the latest graphics driver, verified the integrity of the game files, turned off the Steam overlay, and added an antivirus exception. Still crashing. Unless you HAVE to play this game now, I would give it a few months to have the problems shaken down.

UPDATE: 1.03 made it a lot more stable. I am having a lot of fun with it.

This game is a lot of fun but it is brutal. Good coordination with your team mates and ammo conservation are essential. It gives a good Aliens vibe.

Requested a refund. I could not get this game to work. I would tell it to run, the Steam initialization window would jump up for an instant, the Windows 10 spinning circle would appear then disappear, and nothing would happen. The game would show up in Task Manager showing 0% CPU usage 7.5 MB memory usage. Everything is updated, made firewall exceptions, tested with VPN disabled, and still it would not work. Not worth my time trying to figure this out. All my other Steam games work fine so I can only assume that it is a problem with the game itself.

This is a pretty fun Diablo clone. I like the addition of firearms rather than the standard swords and bows. A bit more of a tutorial would be nice. I had to spend a bit testing what each of the keys do. As well, it is a bit disorientating at first because you have no idea what is going on, though I guess that makes sense since your character isn't supposed to remember. Proper 4K support would be nice. I had to go into the settings file to scale up the UI since the option is not in the settings menu. Overall though, I am enjoying the game.

This is a great game. If you like side scrolling action games this is definately for you. The map is fairly large but there is still a lot of backtracking to you will see the same areas a lot. Sometimes the jumping wall to wall can be annoying, but overall it is a solid game.

I quite like this game. It is tough, but it is a roguelike so that's to be expected. The story is pretty interesting and the stess mechanic is both a great addition and a pain in the ass :P

[EDIT] 5 years later and this game is still a lot of fun. The devs have added several DLCs to add new classes and game modes. DD is still on my favourites list and I look forward to DD2!
