So, as previously written, I do endorse this game for anyone interested, under the caveat that you buy it on sale. There are a LOT of bugs still present even now. I recently purchased this when it was 50% off on a steam sale and at that price point, I feel it's worth it.

Now on to the review of the game itself:

Game play wise, it's good. The build options are plentiful, every combat type is 100% doable. Want it loud or stealthy, melee or ranged, lethal or non lethal, they've got a setup for you from cybernetics to weapon choices.

It does get a tiny bit repetitive at times, mostly with the various small time gang encounters and some zones clearly respawn after you clear them out (though most stay cleared out, so I'm not sure if the reset is intentional or bugged), the main quest and gigs are all good, some of the side jobs are very 'meh' while others are much more interesting and easily on par with a gig job. Gigs are -usually- more involved than side missions, as side missions tend to just be a sort of quick one of, go into area X, get Item Y or defeat baddies Z and bail. This isn't always the case though as some gigs are really just show up, blast the baddies and leave or some side jobs are much more long winded affairs that have a lot of story to them so I'm honestly not sure what the actual difference is vs the intent.

That said, the game has a LOT of missed potential here, and I think there's a lot of signs of intended mechanics that were never implemented prior to release and still haven't been finished ever since.

For example:
There are a lot of customisation options that clearly exist in the game, yet aren't something you can select or manually change. For example, clothing, guns and vehicles of the same type will spawn with all kinds of different colours and patterns, but it's all randomised, you can't manually select or change what you want. It's the sort of thing that makes me feel like they intended to make it so you could customise all this stuff much more heavily than you can now, and instead took the short cut of just dumping all the art assets into the game and setting them up to randomly spawn. This is a terrible annoyance to anyone wanting a specific look to say the least. You'll spend eons looking for that last thing, and maybe never find it, yet it likely exists in the game -somewhere-.

Secondly, there's a ridiculous amount of food and drink in this game for something that only gives you a tiny buff. I strongly suspect there was some intention of having a 'survival' style game mode where you'd have to eat/drink on a regular basis, it probably even got finished, and then got canned and left as a generic drink + food buff. Alcohol even has a debuff and all these things seem to stack up to 3x (To at least extend the duration). Alcohol has no positive benefits and has a debuff, as well as making your vision bllurr for a while if you have at least 3 drinks in a row.

Given all they have to work with, in regards to the source material (That being the Tabletop RPG) I'm sure they intended much more and just never finished it.

Ok so maybe I've spent a little too much time building in Fallout 4
