It's not bad as a 4x game, though it's got no actual storyline behind it so it's really only good for practice or multiplayer matches.

For what it is, it's pretty well done.

Can't get sound in game because of a bug that existed in the game since it first launched, and it's a super common bug that is still all over the Steam forums and Google search. Great.

Even 'better' none of the fixes actually fix the problem for me, and since it's only this game that does it, in the trash bin it goes.

Very much an entirely faithful reproduction of the old System Shock.

While I'm leaving a negative review, it's largely because it's... just boring?

The game is very much what it says it will deliver to one extent, in that it's a very 80's style based pretty faithfully on the Movies and TV Show, but it's really just kind of lacking in terms of actual engagement for the player. I find the pace is slow, the writing is lackluster and the action is... boring.

Probably one of the best DLCs for MW5 as it adds a lot of good QoL kinda stuff along with one of my favourite mechs.

Honestly don't get the hate for this particular DLC. That said, get it on sale, It's not really worth the asking price but is otherwise a pretty decent enough DLC with reasonable length missions, some nice mechs and fairly good rewards. Does need you to have a bit of a half decent roster of mechs before taking the job if you don't want to suffer horribly as some missions don't let you have time to repair mechs in between. However, you get a fair bit of warning in advance of the actual storyline missions that give you a while to build up before you have to accept the contract or pass it up, and you can pick up a lot of salvage mechs and parts on the missions.

The game still has bugs that cause combat to hang, but saving/loading seems to fix most of those or even just opening the bug report and closing it does it.

That particular issue aside, the game so far has been great. Lots of variety in choices and the mechanics are pretty spiffy.

So, I've put a lot of hours into the game, true. You'd think I'd be someone to recommend the game, but no. The thing is the game has a few things that were interesting for me, such as all the different ways you can build ships. That's neat! But a game needs to have a lot more than that.

Sure there's outposts, but honestly, there's no real point to doing anything but bare bones basics with outposts, because it's not like anyone but you will ever see them, unless you're showing them off in screenshots, as it's a single player game. There's no incentive to try and make them look really neat and fancy unless you just personally want them to when ever you visit them.

As to the missions, they're eh... kind of bland? And the locations are incredibly repetitive. I've seen the same outposts, filled with the same pirates like, 3000 times. And that one cave you always find on like, every planet you go to while out looking for resources. Seen that like 100 times at least on every planet just about. I swear the game has all of 10 outposts copy pasted across every world in the game and that's about it. It's so incredibly repetitive it gets boring very quickly.

There' so many other flaws I could point out in the game, a game that COULD have been so much better than it is. A game that had real potential, if only the developer hadn't cut massive corners in order to meet a launch deadline or something. You can really feel why it took them 25 years to develop this game. It's because it was stuck in development hell and they decided, ♥♥♥♥ it! Let's just put it out as is!

The huge disconnect in pricing between what you get in this vs what they gave console and other players is just unreal.
