This game has taken years off of my life, but the drifter is handsome.
Content is worth, but infinitely better when on sale (fairly frequently, every 3 months or so).
Doesn't deserve all the hate, but the hate is understandable. Content-locking is a bad practice, even if it's old stuff that really doesn't mesh with the current content. Still bad. Bad Bungie.
8/10
+ Good with friends.
+ Fun. satisfying gunplay.
+ Gambit scratches my CoD multiplayer itch.
+ Fun supers, abilities, first game I've ever been interested in making proper builds for myself.
+ Very pretty game.
+ Shaxx.
- Would be nice to have in-game season recaps.
- No love for Titans. (I say this as a Hunter)
- Expensive-ish content that's, again, worth it more when on sale. (AUD - all prior major DLC are $45, newest DLC is $75, newest+annual is $150, side content, weapon packs, etc are $30+, which seems a little much for a handful of guns, or a few strikes.)
- FOMO is understandable, since live service, but also it sucks.
- You'll probably need a friend to guide you through the early stages of Destiny, or you're treading water on your own.
- Good way to raise your blood pressure.

Issues similar to the PSN account link problem was never something to boycott when Ubisoft or EA made you download and run a whole different launcher, or when you need to make an account on a secondary website, with a second party - identical to this issue. Microsoft? Bungie? Ubisoft? EA? Those aren't as big of an issue as this? Shocker, they're the exact same thing. Anywhere that has PSN access blocked has much bigger problems than not being able to play helldivers.

At the very least, make your arguments consistent. Boycotting Helldivers? Boycott EA too. Boycott Ubisoft too. It's a problem, yes, but you're picking and choosing your battles.

Absolute banger of a free game. I would not fix her and I'd let her teach me how to be worse.

I recently finished playing the entire MGS series for the first time, from MGS1-MGS4, Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes, and finally The Phantom Pain. Considering Kojima was forced to make this (when MGS4 was meant to be the final Metal Gear game), and he managed to make the story fit as well as it did, being the story of how MGS3 links to Metal Gear 1/2 - it's very impressive. Boasting some of the most cohesive, enjoyable gameplay for a modern audience, the game looking beautiful, and an intriguing story that... feels like it was abruptly cut off. There is unfinished business that has to be "assumed" during the end of the MGSV:TPP story. There is a large amount of controversy surrounding the supposed "Chapter 3: Peace", which you can find very easily online. I am leaving this review to say that this game is Kojima's last Metal Gear Solid project, and while amazing, fun, enjoyable, all that - it had large chunks of story left on the cutting room floor, thanks to Konami and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ business practices. Business practices which are now being used in the upcoming Silent Hill 2 "Remake", and the awful " "Master" Collection" for MGS1, MGS2: Sons of Liberty, and MGS3: Snake Eater. Those games deserve better treatment than to be shoved out the door in the state they were released in, and are currently in.

MGSV: The Phantom Pain is a great time. I would highly recommend playing Metal Gear Solid 1 - 4, Peace Walker, and Ground Zeroes beforehand to get the full experience.

♥♥♥♥ Konami.

Early Access Review
I bought this game about a year and a half ago-ish, played it. I really enjoy it for what it is, but it is ultimately a tech demo. The gore system is very good for the tech, and it's a very ambitious project - but everything else feels so lackluster and barebones. The weapons system is... definitely there. It lacks proper polish, like most systems in the game. The enemy AI pops out from cover, hides in cover... somewhat.

The only reason I leave this review is because the game has had two "updates" in the news tab. I refunded the game long ago because it hadn't had an update for almost 6 months at that point. There have been no new major updates, no new 'main branch' updates, nothing. I wouldn't say the game is abandoned, per se, but it's definitely on life support. For the price, it's really not worth it - to put it in perspective, it's a tad more expensive than Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades, with not even a tenth of the content.

tl;dr - super neat idea, very good gore system. As of right now, no major or minor updates in at least a year, barebones combat feel, mediocre AI - a tech demo at best. CURRENTLY not worth the price. I hate having to give this a thumbs down, but it's just not done yet. I will keep an eye on this game, though, and update my review accordingly if I see any new updates.

Early Access Review
10 years and still early access. Maybe the game will be in 1.0 by the time my kids move out to go to college. I don't even have any kids. This game has been in early access for almost half my life.

Game is okay, pretty good, impressive for what they did. If you want a run-down on the game's content, go watch the Civvie 11 video.

A few of the devs are kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ though - get this through a third party reseller if you can, they don't deserve the money. Glad I got this on a humble bundle and gave them 0%. Slipgate Ironworks are working on Phantom Fury, the sequel, which should be good.

Ok, so. Phantom Fury was kinda not good. As in they rushed it out the door after gutting the company. Incredible.
