Never played Destiny, tried it in 2026 and this is my experience.

- Extremely confusing as a new player, you are given so much info dump and so much stuff don't really know what's happening.
- Very hard for solo player. most of the missions or objectives is basically go here, kill X, defend something and fight waves of enemies ( very hard to do this solo ) and repeat.
- massive game, pretty sure there's a lot of content
- guns and in general gameplay feels good
- ability cooldowns are super long
- lot of terminology and class, sub-class, artifacts, mods, etc it's overwhelming and confusing
- many things are locked behind some random in-app purchase

I think it's more fun and better with friends but in general, especially if you're solo be aware that it's a lot of enemy spam and you'll be frustrated dying again and again as these are tuned for team play. I do NOT recommend this for solo.

The bad part about Alan Wake is the combat. This game is only that, the bad part of the main game.

Jank, frustrating camera work, low stamina, irritating enemies. It's all of that tied by a few fetch quests and low budget voice acting. Even though I got this very very cheap, I still feel scammed.

Early Access Review
The fundamentals are good.

- Good gunplay (would have liked more feedback and better sounds)
- Destruction, grapple and dash are very well tuned and blend near perfectly to create some high action, satisfying gameplay.
- The presentation and graphics are alright, music feels very similar to Returnal's OST.
- Roguelite, lot's of weapon mods and synergies.

Now why do I NOT recommend the game?

- You have to constantly reload and lot of weapons do not feels great to use initially, they require a lot of upgrades and there's no direct weapon damge (perma) upgrades.
- Meme, funny and joke mods are the worst: there's a mod that scales damage based on your resolution, there's another on the amount of motion blur you have! I mean why???? I do not like motion blur at all and I definitely DO NOT want a mechanic/mod to tie with user settings, this practice just sounds funny but it's not good in gameplay.
- Enemies are way too reliant on stagger damage which is sometimes hard to do when there's an army or a mini-boss with insane health, it's not fun running around and searching to throw some explosives at it to whither it's HP slowly. The guns simply do not have enough ammo capacity and I have to constantly reload.
- Upgrades/mods are most of the time useless or just repetitive, I get the same mod again and again. Some are very overpowered and fun but sparse, I don't care about balance as it's a single player game, make it broken and fun.

This is could be a great game but there are some really weird and "non fun" design choices. Such a shame as it's a well made endevour by a very passtionate single dev.

I'll not write about the game, everyone knows it's a cult classic, a beloved entry of an iconic franchise and it still is so go ahead and enjoy the game and soak in its timeless nostalgia.

This is purely a technical review and addresses some of the shortcoming on this "remaster" release. As of March 2026, the game with some minor issues is finally playable and importantly enjoyable. All these suggestions are valid for the other two games as well.

- The stutters still exists but fixed by using -dx12 in the command line as well as using "Car reflections" set to SCREEN. This is a major performance problem because the implementation is broken, just set it to screen and your frames will double.
- Use Nvidia upscaling, set your resolution higher than your screen and use DLSS Quality (swap using dlss swapper for the latest, v3.10, preset K) for a crystal clear image quality. Also use classic lightening.
- LIMIT your frames to 60fps using RTSS ( do not use internal UE limiter, it's bad) because it breaks physics and sounds.
- If you want more perf. or have a weaker GPU, tweak vehicle lights, volumetric clouds, world shadows and distance. IMO, the only settings that is broken is "car reflections", just set it to lowest (screen space).
- KBM users: the game (and the other two) have aggressive auto-centering which is irritating and near impossible to enjoy the game without a controller. Fix: Use ThirteenAG's Fusion Mods for all these 3 games with a small modification ( do NOT disable intro and menu in the mod options (outside of the game), by default they are set to 1, change it to 0 before starting the game, these mess with Rockstar club and autosave and you'll get errors, (Rockstar's cloud saves are also a bit bugged)
- There's some minor bugs like camera jumps when you drive inside a tunnel, or your sprint speed is too fast in Vice City DE, etc. Nothing can be done about these atm.

That's it, after years of patches, mod fixes and community help it's finally here. What a shame that these remasters couldn't be like the excellent port of Red Dead Redemption, which is flawless and very performant but hey, we can at least play these classics and enjoy them, even if they are not perfect.

Literally ZERO SKILL game. You just yank the slot machine and hope RNG favors you.

Everytime you stop playing, you quit the game and uninstall it only to reinstall it the next day and repeat.

This is one of the most frustrating and unenjoyable games I have ever played. It's an exercise in pain and suffering.

It's like an orphan abandoned in the streets of a third world country, scared and alone, hungry and wet, cold and anxious, searching and yearning for love, warmth, shelter and food.

But there's hope, eyes that mirror twinkling stars in the dark sky. The occasional leftover still mildly warm that it finds scavenging. But there's hope when a kind stranger gives something nice, there's hope to study and learn. But there's that tinniest hope that everything will be alright even while getting beaten, violated and left in agony and pain.

That hope, my friends, that small, tiny but significant hope is what makes you keep playing. And that because we are humans, we always strive to look for the best in the most difficult of times. Maybe it'll never be alright, maybe our time will never come but we are humans who can dream.

Darkest Dungeon is a masterclass in design to bring out that small, clinging hope that we all humans have. I don't want you to play it but I recommend this game for I am human.

Extremely slick UI and visuals, quick animations, satisfying sounds and impact, catchy tunes, fun and unique gameplay loop, broken builds quickly make this one of the best and slickest games I have ever played. Cool, cool, cool.

It's pure dopamine and if you beat this, welcome to the slick gamers club.

Note: very short in content, please dev, add more stuff!

Terrible PC port for low-medium end hardware, good port for high end. The recommended system requirements are false. Before you buy and to have a smooth, stable experience you need:

- a fast CPU, texture streaming and JIT shaders compilation is heavily used in this title, so you really need very fast CPU else you will get bottlenecked by this quickly.
- lot's of VRAM. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU HAVE <= 8GB VRAM unless you want to play in lowest textures which look blurry and bad and given the TAA implementation is bad, it looks really bad. Add in pop-in unless you go "background detail = ultra" which is very heavy and tanks your fps in low-medium tier cards.
- 1080P looks terrible and washed, you have to play this at 1440p. So you need a good GPU and fast CPU.
- The initial shader compilation doesn't include all shaders, you'll see stutter whenever a new shader is loader. This is only for the first time and subsequent runs will be smoother.

As how the game is well I have just one line, combat and music and art carry the game, the writing is anime and cringe but if you're a fan of FF, it's on-par. The game is is crazily packed, lot's on content, high quality production and a massive albeit MMO like world.

TL, DR; DO NOT BUY IF YOU DON"T HAVE A VERY FAST CPU AND >8GB VRAM. If you do have a high end setup, it's great, flawless and stable, smooth frametimes and fps, which is rare for a UE4 game of this size. Still, the best place to play this game is still the PS5. Virtually stutter free and great haptic/dualsense support.

Just wanted to thank Steam support for refunding me this game even though I had 2.8 hours of playtime, the stutters and fps drops were too much for me.

Whack, crazy, definitive Saints story, fun gameplay mechanics, go wild and free and iconic characters but bland open world and mission design.

Technical performance is a mess in modern hardware. Cutscenes are locked 30fps, game in locked at 60fps and still stutters (while driving/crashing) in modern hardware. The game speed and frame pacing is haphazard and it feels like the game runs way way fast while driving or even randomnly. There is also an aggressive auto-centering for cars, no FOV slider and some infrequent crashes to top things up.

If you have the hardware I recommend the new 2022 Saints Row reboot, while it is subpar in story, dialogue and characters it is way better optimized, looks great, has excellent accessibility options and the gameplay is quite fun. Or get the okayish Saints Row 3 Remastered.

Quickly.

Positives

- Runs extremely well, super well optimized even with thousands of zombies
- Sounds are on point, headshots feel good and satisfying. Think Hitman WoA style gunplay but more fast paced and crazy.
- Massive levels, good artstyle and has a very clean look, easy to spot what and where to shoot
- Industry leading zombie fluid simulation, really cool to look

Negatives

- solo is near impossible for the AI bots are terrible in programming
- quest/level structure is just for the sake of it, this is not really a "campaign" game, it's co-op with mindless clearing of zombie hordes again and again
- extreme grinding, there is so much to grind and it doesn't help that the "daily challenges" have DLC maps that you need to buy even after purchasing Aftermath
- FOV in 3rd person is weird and not super comfortable, camera is not stable, not constant
- First person view is an afterthought and limited and also LOCKED behind DLC (Aftermath), honestly it doesn't feel good, there are scope in guns but you can't use them in first person, it just does not work well
- low ammo and obtuse mission objectives makes it not very fun to clear hordes, maybe if you're up for a challenge but why?

I do not recommend this if you're looking for something like L4D or B4B. I do like the insane zombie hordes and the smoothness of the game but unfortunately unless you have a really dedicated squad of four IRL friends (not randoms) to grind hours, avoid this and maybe look for your zombie horde shooting fix in Back 4 Blood or L4D (or just play an excellent single player experience like TLoU1 & 2 or maybe even Days Gone)
