I strongly recommend No, I'm Not a Human. This is a game that will surprise you at every turn. With cruelty, it'll shock you over and over, until you truly understand what evil people are capable of, under the right (or rather, wrong) circumstances. But, If you look in the right places, it may show you what good, people can do. And what good YOU can do.

NinaH is not your typical indie horror game. There's a huge lack of jumpscares. But there's talking. A lot of talking. There is also pure gold scattered in these writings, I truly feel like I'm reading a screenplay for some unreleased Macbeth play. Each character has such a way of speaking that I CAN'T help but speak out and act as the character in real life. It's very entertaining doing voices for them, especially in group settings.

Another strong aspect is the visual design, there is something so uncanny yet so visually unique about every single person you encounter. They're all given silhouettes you would make out from miles away, This becomes very effective when combined with the fact that you are given such little information on how to actually filter out the dangerous visitors and... the humans. Should I deny enter to this man because he's too tall? This lady looks a little weird, or is she maybe just disabled? Wait, why does this guy have such weird teeth? What? People don't look like that! That's totally a Visitor... Right?

You are almost always in the dark, like a real normal person in times of grave danger. You don't know much, in-fact you don't really know anything. All you know, and all you hope is true, is what's neatly broadcasted onto your TV. Who are you to question the news? You're nothing. You're just... a human.

I also want to say it that the music absolutely rocks. By rocks, I mean it puts you in an deep, deep state of paranoia and self-doubt. It's hard to believe anything you're hearing or seeing when your ears are constantly being violated by such a depressing tone. How do you find hope in such a world. How do you confront... death.

This will always hold a special place in my heart, for how well it tackled such sensitive, but hyper-relevant, topics like lookism, prejudice and like... death. It is an incredibly special title, and I will struggle to forget it for a long, long time. Please give it a go, you'll find out in the first hour if the gameplay is for you. And, even if you find it annoying or repetitive, just try stick around, or you'll be missing a mountains worth of some of the best writing in indie games.

Thank you Nikita and every single hand that touched the development of this. I think, you've made something truly special.
