I knew nothing going in, came out wishing there was more. Absolute banger if you liked other single-player deck building games. (slay the spire, hearthstone, etc)

Act 2 was a hard pill to swallow but the game delivers overall and it is worth pushing onward to the end.
Took me about 10 hours to beat.

Everyone knows Act 1 was too good. Even the Developer knows. The new "Kaycee's Mod", an official expansion, has expanded my playtime from 10 hours to 30+. It's currently in BETA but what's there is worth jumping into ASAP.

EDIT: After GETTING EVERY ACHIEVEMENT, and after the first major content update (ridden hives), i will say the game is in a better state. The cards are way more interesting now with better synergies. Still not going to recommend.

The biggest things holding it back are the difficulty, VERY repetitive dialog, weak cosmetics, and repetitive maps.

A run could be going really well and BOOM: you have common ridden slowing you down while 4 different special mutations wail on you. it feels like theres little counter play to some of the mutations! tall boys and the vomit guys are almost always gonna hit you. hawkers can hide in shrubs (literally cannot see them) and hit you with an instant trapping goo with pinpoint accuracy. If you didn't bring the breakout card, play as a certain character, or dont have a team member near you? game over.

Hopping into "Quickplay" results in you joining someone elses in-progress game where you are allowed to take over a BOT. when you do so, you are given lowest rarity weapons, no grenades/bandages/tools, and a few basic cards that you have zero input on. it is often better to just spectate the run and join in AFTER the level is over. That method is not very Quick or Play.

Tried the swarm PVP game mode. The enemy team got beat really hard round 1, they rage quit, everyone was booted back to camp with no rewards for winning.
