Pro: Fun game if you like playing against nothing but AI.

Cons: Everything.

Matchmaking is atrocious, and seems to give a flying f*** about putting players of similar skill together.
Rank system is utterly ridiculous. You can win 9 games, then lose 1, and end up at a lower rank than when you started.
Game play. Have a player drop out mid game (due to lag or any other reason)? You're now playing with unbalanced teams. The game doesn't give any kind of handicap, doesn't limit the other team to one less spawn, or anything at all.

The devs clearly give not one steaming sh!t about balanced play. The ONLY reason this game has anybody left playing is because they managed to get Valve to include it with Steam Controller purchases.

Full of bugs. Sometimes it is randomly impossible to build a room. Sometimes you'll build an airlock and life support, and they'll pretend it all doesn't exist and all your starting population suffocates in their suits.
Full of imbalance. Start in a "ridiculously low" threat area and before you even have a chance to research better weapons, let alone even build a research area or assign population to it, a ship full of super-powered raiders will kill everyone.

The game does not live up to its original goals or current description at all. If you've ever had blood pressure problems, avoid this game like the plague. If you haven't had blood pressure problems, and want to experience them, try this barely functional pile of bugs, glitches, and broken UI elements.

Fun until you achieve orbit, but after that there's way too much work involved to be fun. If I want to play 3D spreadsheets I'll go back to EVE.

Just play it.

I bought this in 2012, and reviewed it positively both as a good game in general and because it supported Linux. I am changing my review to a very decisive thumbs down due to the developer's decision to remove Linux support. I paid for this game, and I paid for multiple DLC/bonus packs for the sole reason this was a great game on Linux, and now they've taken a fat hot dump all over that. Proton is a half-assed workaround.

After several weeks of using Proton, I can definitively say its performance is not nearly on par with what the previous native client provided. I used to be not-so-good at the game. Since they dropped the native client, I am now horrible due to the impaired accuracy and latency provided by the Windows version running under Proton.
