This game has flown under the radar compared to some of its indie compatriots, undeservedly so. PoP: The Lost Crown is a standout metroidvania deserving of the highest of praise. As a bonus, the game runs like a dream on the Steam Deck.

An achievement in innovation and iteration, Silksong delivers more of everything I loved about Hollow Knight, and then some.

DRG cultivates a shockingly friendly online community that makes drop in multiplayer an easier and better experience than any other I've ever seen for a game of this kind.

One of the most all-around polished games I've ever played. Gorgeous art, an astounding soundtrack, interesting characters, a compelling story, and some of tightest and most rewardingly challenging gameplay I've ever experienced. Hades is on the short list for my favorite game ever.

The fluidity of the movement in Apex makes every moment enjoyable, from casually looting to the most intense gunfights. Respawn knows how to make a shooter.

Worth the wait.

Baba Is You is one of those memorable puzzle games that will have you searching "Games like Baba Is You" and frustratedly realizing that nothing really like it exists. It is a truly unique puzzle game, and the frustration of staring hopelessly at a seemingly useless set of available words is exceeded only by the sense of achievement after completing that very same puzzle. Anyone who enjoys puzzle games would surely benefit from adding this game to their library.

The best Metroidvania I've ever experienced.

This game is an exercise in persistence and frustration. Getting Over It is one of the most fulfilling game accomplishments I've ever experienced.

So many otherwise-fantastic games fail when it comes to characterizing their antagonists. Through the Knife of Dunwall and the Brigmore Witches, Dishonored transforms Daud from a heartless monster to a tragic villain in one of, if not the best, story-based DLC ever released.
