This game is beautiful and playing involves (a lot of) feels. The direction of the art style is really cute too. A part of me wishes it was longer, but I think the game is the perfect length for the short story it's telling.

I feel that the game outstandingly delivers the story around the concept of grief.

(Very light spoiler) Grief often isn't an acute and quick ailment. Grief can stick with you for a long time and the feelings of loss just resurfaces once in a while when we're off guard. For some, it never goes away - you feel the feeling less and less often as time goes on because you learn to anticipate it and fight it, but it still may hit you hard anyway...

The game nails this right, the story of Eda and Owl is delivered by constantly alternating between us rediscovering fond memories of Eda and Owl and Eda being thrown into a state of loss. The waves of grief become more and more predictable later in the game because we see patterns, but it still can affect us just as hard if we're immersed in the game.

Fun but you will die

Too heavily reliant on probabilities to be called a 'strategy' game. Frustating sometimes, or most of the time. You can consider that I'm downvoting only because I'm unlucky (i.e. I keep on failing my spells regardless of the success chance being above 80%).

Got dumped by my muslim family for naming a city "Gaza" and building The Great Wall around it.

A building complained about not having enough educated workers in spite of my superb education coverage and my enormous population. So I just renamed the building to "The Congress" and consider the problem resolved.

10/10 will solve problems again.


Great game, the only major thing it lacks is an auto-save feature.
